Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a dandruff-suppressing agent composition having excellent effect and safety by using leupeptin as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains 0.0001-10wt.% (preferably 0.01-5wt.%) of leupeptin based on the total composition and is properly compounded with various components generally used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc., an aqueous component, humectant, thickener, antiseptic agent, antioxidant, perfumery, colorant, drug, crude drug, etc. It can be used in the form of hair cosmetics (e.g. shampoo or rinse), hair tonics (e.g. hair tonic, hair conditioner or scalp treatment), hair dressings (e.g. hair liquid, hair spray or hair cream), etc. Especially, the composition is useful for the prevention and remedy of dandruff generated by the scalp stimulation caused by the surfactant in a shampoo, rinse, etc., and exhibits excellent effect for preventing itchiness of the scalp.
