  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 帳票上の文字に対し光学的な走査を行ない該文
    字を量子化された電気信号に変換する光電変換部
    、量子化した信号のうちの少なくとも１文字分の
    量子化パタンを格納するパタンレジスタ、前記量
    子化パタンから該量子化パタンを得た文字の特徴
    を抽出する特徴抽出部、辞書メモリ、及び前記抽
    出された特徴を前記辞書メモリと照合する識別部
    を具える文字認識装置において、 帳票上の文字の向きが予め定めた向きとは異な
    る場合に当該文字の特徴抽出部で抽出された特徴
    を前記予め定めた向きでの特徴に切り換える特徴
    切換部を具えたことを特徴とする文字認識装置。
