``Prior Art'' Conventionally, methods for producing cast coated paper include the wet casting method (for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 3407/1986, 31
3-25160), a gel casting method in which the wet coating layer is gelled and brought into contact with the heating drum surface for a glossy finish (for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 38-15751, 40-7).
No. 207, U.S. Patent No. 3,377,192, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 1983-4
No. 0410), a rewet casting method in which the wet coating layer is once dried or semi-dried, then plasticized by rewetting and pressed against the heated drum surface (for example, US Pat. No. 2759).
No. 847, Japanese Patent Publication No. 48-38005, Japanese Patent Publication No. 51-1
02111) etc. are known.

In all of these methods of producing cast coated paper, a coating layer mainly composed of pigment and adhesive is provided on a base paper, and while the coating layer is in a wet state, the coating layer is pressed against a heating drum surface having a mirror surface. They have in common that they produce a coated paper that is smooth and highly glossy by copying a mirror surface onto the coated layer that is in a plastic state.

Therefore, in the production of cast coated paper, in order to perform continuous and stable operations, it is necessary that the heated drum surface, which has a mirror surface, be faithfully transferred to the paper surface. It is absolutely necessary that not even a part of the coating layer remains on the surface of the heating drum when it is released from the mold. If a simple paint consisting of pigment and adhesive is used and cast on an untreated heated drum, after drying,
The paper is difficult to release from the heating drum, and immediately after the start of operation, a part of the coating layer adheres to the heating drum, a phenomenon called drum pick, and the paper sticks to the heating drum, resulting in paper breakage. Yazu (Unable to achieve a satisfactory cast finish.

For example, pre-heated drum surface can be heated with fatty acids, fatty acid soap, etc.
Treated with oily substances such as sulfated castor oil, I-butyl phosphate, xylene, terpene, and monochlorobenzene, and furthermore contain 0.1 to 0.1% of these oily substances in the paint used.
A method of adding about 1.0% by weight has been proposed (US Pat. No. 2,568,288, Japanese Patent Publication No. 3407/1983).

In this method, an oil film is formed on the surface of the heating drum, and as the coated layer dries and is released from the mold, some of the oil film is carried away. A thick oil film is formed on the surface of the heated drum to maintain an apparent equilibrium and aid in paper release.

In these methods, the releasability changes depending on the cleanliness of the heating drum surface, and as the drum surface gradually becomes dirty in about half a day, the releasability decreases, making it difficult to obtain cast coated paper with good quality. I won't be able to do it.

There is also a method of adding a large amount of the above-mentioned oil-based substances to the casting coating liquid, gelling liquid, or rewetting liquid in order to improve the mold release property, but this method improves the mold release property for boat fishing. As a result, the gloss, which is the most important selling point of cast coated paper, tends to decrease, and at the same time, there are drawbacks such as a decrease in printability.

In some cases, the above method shows good mold release properties, but there are problems such as the quality of the white cast coated paper, such as gloss and shine, is poor, and the surface treatment method of the drum is difficult, so it cannot be put into practical use. It has not been.

Other methods include applying hydrophobic coating to the surface of pigments used in paints, using breathable calcium carbonate or plastic pigments, and adding vinyl acetate and vinyl stearate to latex used as adhesives in paints. Methods have been proposed that use a copolymer of , or a latex copolymerized with hinyl acetate or acrylonitrile, but with either method, long-term continuous operation is difficult.

Under the specific conditions of manufacturing cast coated paper, which is the object of the present invention, basically, a base paper is coated with an aqueous coating liquid mainly composed of pigments and adhesives, and this coating layer is in a wet state. When the coating layer is pressed against the heated cast drum surface while it is in the process, the coating layer sticks to the cast drum moderately, and then
In order to satisfy the contradictory condition that the coating layer must be reliably released from the cast drum after drying, only the fluorine-containing surfactant of the present invention can be used as a mold release agent in the cast coating layer. As a result, particularly stable continuous operation properties can be obtained, and excellent cast coated paper can be produced without deterioration in gloss, printability, etc.

Although the effects of the above-mentioned fluorine-containing surfactant used in the present invention are not necessarily clear, it is possible that the perfluoroalkyl group or perfluoroalkenyl group contained in the fluorine-containing surfactant is effective on the surface of the cast coating liquid. It lowers tension more efficiently than conventionally known mold release agents, and
By applying special release conditions to the cast coated layer, such as those used in the manufacture of coated paper, it is possible to improve the release properties without reducing the gloss of the cast coated paper. The hydrophilic group of the surfactant imparts appropriate hydrophilicity to the surfactant, making the distribution of the surfactant uniform in the coated layer, suppressing uneven mold release, etc., and improving the properties of the resulting cast coated paper. It is presumed that as a result of improvements in poor ink adhesion, etc., it has become possible to operate CAST 1-coated paper of unprecedented high quality over a long period of time.

The fluorine-containing surfactant can be added to the cast coating layer by adding it to the cast coating liquid, or in the case of wet casting or gelling casting, adding it to the rewetting liquid or gelling liquid. Alternatively, the fluorine-containing surfactant may be added to the cast coating layer, rewetting solution, or gelling solution, either directly or after being dissolved in water or an organic solvent in advance.

Incidentally, if the amount is less than 0.01 parts by weight, sufficient mold releasability cannot be obtained, and if it exceeds 10 parts by weight, when the cast coated paper with the cast coating layer in a wet state is pressed against the cast drum, In addition, due to the poor adhesion of the cast coating layer to the cast drum, uneven gloss and reduced gloss on the surface of the cast coating paper are observed.

The coating composition thus obtained is coated onto base paper using an appropriate coating device such as an air knife coater, blade coater, brush coater, roll coater, or size press so that the dry weight is approximately 5 to 35 g/m. While the coating layer contains water and is in a plastic state, it is pressed against the heated drum surface specified in the present invention and dried, and after the moisture in the coating layer has substantially evaporated, the coating layer is removed from the drum. After releasing the mold, cast coated paper is obtained.
