Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a fishing-line having high specific gravity and strength and excellent straightness and flexibility by knitting plural tungsten wires to form a cord and coating the knit cord with a hot melt synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:A knit tungsten cord 2 is wound onto a spool 3 and the spool is attached to an unwinder 1. The knit cord 2 delivered from the spool is passed through a die 5 via a guide roller 4. Before entering into the die, the knit cord is heated together with the die 5 at a prescribed temperature with a hot air heating apparatus 6 furnished with an electric heater and a fan. A hot melt fiber is melted and softened by the heat and impregnated into the cord in the course of passing the cord through the die and, at the same time, a part of the molten resin is exuded to the outer surface of the knit cord to uniformly cover the surface. A fishing-line having smooth surface can be produced by this process.

The tungsten wire used in the production of the braided wire is preferably a so-called black wire whose surface is coated with graphite from a graphite colloid solution used as a lubricant in the wire drawing process, but a white wire without such a coating may also be used. Although this thin tungsten wire may be used as a single wire, it is better to bundle multiple tungsten wires (preferably 2 to 4 wires) to form a wire for braiding, and use this to form a braided wire. , preferred for improving flexibility and strength. Appropriately, the number of tungsten raw wires for forming the braided wire is approximately 8 to 16, but the number may be greater than this depending on the case. Further, the knitted wire layer may be formed in two or three layers, but usually only one layer is sufficient. The thickness of the tungsten thin wire is 100 microns or less, more preferably 10 to 70 microns, and even more preferably 10 to 5 microns.
It is appropriate to set it to 0 microns; if it is thinner than stiff, it will not have sufficient strength, and if it is too thick, the rigidity will be high and the flexibility will decrease. For example, in the case of fishing line for sweetfish fishing, use the thinnest tungsten wire possible, e.g. 13~18
Preferably, a micron line is used.

As the heat-adhesive synthetic resin for coating, nylon-based heat-adhesive fibers commercially available for heat-bonding textile products and the like may be used. The tungsten braided wire is manufactured using this fiber as a core material, and is heated to a predetermined temperature to cover the braided wire with a softened synthetic resin. A specific example of the manufacturing process for this fishing line is as follows.

First, a required number of tungsten wires, which are strands, are wound around a predetermined bobbin and knitted using a knitting machine. Next, the obtained winding wire is coated. Figure 1 shows this coating device, in which a spool 3 on which a tungsten braided wire 2 is wound is attached to a wire hanging machine 1, and the braided wire 2 fed out from there is passed from a guide roller 4 to a die 5. . The die 5 and the braided wire before entering the die are heated to a predetermined temperature by a hot air type heating device 6 having an electric heater and a fan.

This heating melts and softens the thermoadhesive 111M, which fills the inside of the braided wire when it passes through the die, and a portion of it oozes out onto the outer surface of the braided wire to uniformly cover the outer surface. This results in

The braided wire that has passed through the die 5 is guided to a cooling tank 8 having a circulation chamber 7. Cooling water is supplied to the circulation chamber 7 from an inlet pipe 9, and overflowing cooling water is collected from an outlet pipe 10. Vertical slits 7b, 8b are formed in the side walls 7a, 8a of the circulation chamber 7 and the cooling tank 8, and the wire 2 moves through the slits in the cooling water.

The braided wire, in which the thermoadhesive resin has been solidified by cooling in the cooling tank 8, is wound up on a spool 13 of a winding machine 12 via a guide roller 11. Note that the resin may be solidified using a natural cooling (air cooling) method instead of using a water cooling method as shown in the illustrated example.

In addition, the speed of braiding is 0.5 to 10 m/min, preferably 1

The fishing line thus obtained had high strength even though it was thin, and because of its high specific gravity, it sank well in water and was resistant to so-called line dandruff. Also, it was easier to catch fish because it didn't stretch as much. When this fishing line was used for sweetfish fishing, the thinness of the line created less water resistance, allowing the decoy sweetfish to climb the rapids.

[Effects of the Invention] As is clear from the above description, the fishing line according to the present invention has high specific gravity, high strength, and is excellent in straightness and flexibility. It goes without saying that this fishing line can be used for purposes other than fishing lines, for example, as a string for tying things together or as a line for making nets.
