Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain such a sheet discharge device of compact design and good heat radiation as allowing the direct view of a printed condition and ensuring the stack of many discharged sheets by providing the first sheet feed means capable of feeding a sheet in both forward and reverse directions, a sheet discharge select means, the first tray, the second tray, a sheet reversal means, the second sheet feed means, the third tray and the like. CONSTITUTION:When it is desired to discharge a recording sheet with the printed side thereof down, a recording sheet 9 with the upper side thereof printed is carried and fed to the first tray 3 via the upper surface of a select guide 10. Thereafter, the sheet 9 is reversely fed again with the first sheet feed means, and reversed with a reversed sheet guide 5. Furthermore, the sheet 9 is discharged to and stacked on the third tray 8 via the second sheet feed means, with the printed side thereof down. When it is desired to discharge a recording sheet with the printed side thereof up, the recording sheet with the upper side thereof printed is discharged to and stacked on the second tray 12 with the first sheet feed means via a sheet discharge select means, with the printed side thereof up. For selecting a sheet with the printed side thereof up or down, a select sheet guide 10 is operated to select a discharging sheet.

However, in the prior art as shown in FIG. 5, when the recording paper is ejected with the printed side facing downward, the recording paper is inverted in an out-of-sight place inside the printing device, and the printed side is facing downward, so that the recording paper is ejected with the printed side facing downward. Since recording paper is stacked on top of the printing device, it cannot be used for other purposes, such as placing instruction manuals on the top of the printing device. Also, since the paper path until the printed recording paper is stacked on the top of the printing device is long, the paper ejecting device becomes large.Since the printed recording paper is stacked on the top of the printing device, the heat from the recording paper is transferred to the printing device. There are problems in that the paper tends to get trapped inside and increase the temperature inside the printing device, and if the amount of printed recording paper that is loaded is increased, the paper path becomes longer and the paper ejection device becomes even larger.

According to the above structure of the present invention, when the printed side of the recording paper is discharged downward, the recording paper printed on the upper surface of the recording paper by the printing means in the printing device is discharged by the first paper feeding means. After being conveyed onto the first tray via the paper switching means, the paper is fed backwards again by the first paper feeding means and sent to the paper reversing means where it is reversed. Recording paper is stacked onto the tray with the printed side facing down.

The outer peripheries of the first drive roller 1 and the second drive roller 6 are made of a material with a high friction coefficient, and are powered by the same power (not shown) that drives the printing means in the printing device or by a separate motor. They are rotated in the directions of arrows a and b, respectively, by power (not shown) caused by, for example, the following. The second driven roller 4 is rotatable driven roller receiver 1

For example, the case where recording paper is discharged with the printed side facing downward will be explained using FIGS. 1 and 2. The recording paper 9 printed on the upper surface of the recording paper 9 by a printing means (not shown) in the printing device is conveyed by the first drive roller 1 and the first driven roller 2, passes through the upper surface of the switching paper guide 10, and then passes through the upper surface of the switching paper guide 10. Since the first tray 3 that is sent onto the first tray 3 is inclined, the rear end of the recording paper 9 is always in close contact with the outer periphery of the first drive roller 1 due to the weight of the recording paper 9. At this time, the protrusion 1- provided on the outer periphery of the first drive roller l
1, the outer periphery of the first driving roller 1 is reliably moved in the direction of the arrow a, and the sheet is sandwiched between the first driving roller and the second driven roller 4, and is reversely conveyed to the reversing paper guide 5. After that, the recording paper 9 is reversed by the reversing paper guide 5, and then conveyed by the second driving roller 6 and the third driven roller 7, and placed on the third tray 8 with the print side facing downward. The ejected paper is loaded.

Next, the case of discharging the recording paper with the printed side facing upward will be explained using FIGS. 3 and 4. By rotating the switching paper guide 10 in the direction of arrow C shown in FIG. 2, the slave roller receiver 11 and the second driven roller 4 are reliably moved to the positions shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, respectively. The recording paper 9 printed on the upper surface of the recording paper 9 by a printing means (not shown) in the printing device is conveyed by the first drive roller 1 and the first driven roller 2 and passes through the lower surface of the switching paper guide 10. The haiku paper is stacked on the second tray with the printed side facing upward.

As described above, according to the present invention, even when the recording paper is ejected with the printed side facing downward, when the recording paper is fed onto the first tray, the printed side of the recording paper is facing upward. By arranging the first tray in a visible position, you can directly see the printing status of the recording paper, and by stacking the discharged recording paper in a position other than the top of the printing device, for example, you can place an instruction manual, etc. on the top of the printing device. By shortening the paper path for reversing the recording paper, the reversing paper guide can be made smaller and cheaper, and each tray for stacking discharged recording paper is placed facing the outside of the printing device. This improves the heat dissipation of the recording paper and reduces the temperature rise inside the printing device. The paper output capacity can be easily increased by deepening the third tray without changing the length of the paper path for reversing the recording paper. It has many effects such as the ability to
