Abstract

PURPOSE:To hold data in a memory and to reduce power consumption by attaching a voltage varying function to judge whether data holding is the one in the operating or non-operating time of a memory based on the value of a voltage switching signal. CONSTITUTION:An address is outputted from a CPU 1, and it is judged whether or not the value of the address is allocated to the memory 10 with a switching signal circuit 2, and the voltage switching signal is sent to a voltage switching circuit 3. The circuit 3 judges whether the data holding is the one in the operating or non-operating time of the memory based on the value of the voltage switching signal. Then, voltages 5 and 6 supplied from a power source 4 can be switched. Thereby, the low voltage 6 is used as a supply voltage to the memory 10 when the memory 10 is set at a data holding state in the non- operating time even when a device is being operated, and the power consumption can be reduced.
