Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase a friction force and a washing ability by using brush fibers that a specified volume of inorganic non-metallic materials is mixed with a resin material and molten with heat to form fibrous. CONSTITUTION:Brush materials are utilized, that inorganic non-metallic materials of 1-30% in weight are mixed in a resin material and molten at a specified temperature to form fibrous. Various kinds of materials can be applied for the inorganic non-metallic materials, but natural minerals such as zeolite or others are more preferable from the view point of cost. Polypropylene polyethylene, nylon, polyvinylchloride, polybuthylene, etc., are available for the resin material. Less addition than 1% of inorganic non-metallic materials against the resin material does not give a sufficient abrasive force to the side face of the fiber and those more than 30% make the fiber brittle and the flexibility thereof is lost.

During cleaning, the brush fibers rarely come into point contact with the vehicle at their tips, and in most cases contact the vehicle while lying horizontally, so the cleaning power of the brush is dependent on the frictional force on the sides of the brush fibers. The proportion of dependence is large.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> However, since conventional brush fibers were made of synthetic resin or the like, there was a problem in that the frictional force on the side surfaces of the fibers was insufficient, resulting in insufficient cleaning power.

<Summary of the invention> The present invention has been made to meet the above-mentioned requirements.
The basic feature is that the brush fibers are formed by mixing 1% to 30% by weight of an inorganic nonmetallic material to a resin material, heating and melting the mixture at a predetermined temperature, and forming it into a fibrous shape. Such brush fibers have a large frictional force and improve cleaning power.

Further, the preferable fibrous degree and fiber diameter of the brush fibers vary depending on the resin material. For example, when polypropylene is used, the denier is 100d to 10.0OOd, and the fiber diameter is 0.
It is desirable that the length be about 125 mm to 1.3 mm. In addition, when using low density polyethylene, the denier is 2
500d~7000d, fiber diameter 0.6mm~1.5
A predetermined number of brush fibers, preferably about 6 mm or more, are used to form a cleaning brush in a shape suitable for the purpose. At this time, it is not necessary to make all the fibers of the brush the inorganic non-metallic material-mixed fibers having the above-mentioned structure.
Depending on the required frictional force, etc., the brush body may be formed by mixing the brush fibers of the present invention with conventional brush fibers made only of resin materials or brush fibers of other configurations.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the brush fibers obtained as described above were implanted onto a vinyl chloride shaft 3 having a diameter of 12 cm and having a bristly length of 30 cm to prepare a rotating brush 1. For comparison, a comparative brush 2 was prepared by planting conventional polypropylene brush fibers on the same shaft 3. The shaft 3 is rotatable by a motor 4.

On the other hand, a phenolic paint was sprayed twice with a spray gun onto a steel plate having a thickness of 3 mm to prepare a test piece 10 having a coating film of 20 to 25 μm. As shown in FIG. 2, the test piece 10 was brought into contact with the brush 1 of the present invention and the comparison brush 2 with a pressing force of 3 kg and a contact depth of 50 mm, and rotated by the motor 4 at 25 rpm for 10 minutes. The peeling thickness of the coating film of the test specimen 10 using the comparison brush 2 was measured. As a result, the thickness of the paint film removed by the brush 1 of the present invention was 7
