The mailbox has an input slot on the upper side of the front panel so that mail etc. can be inserted through the input opening. When this mailbox is installed outdoors as a sign post or the like, rainwater often enters through the input port, and there is a risk that mail etc. placed in the mailbox may get wet. That is, as shown in FIG. 10, the upper end of the front plate 2 is normally sloped to prevent rainwater from entering, but rainwater flowing along the input port cover 17 and rainwater on the surface of the front plate 2 are exposed to wind. Therefore, there was a risk that the mail would flow along the upper part of the front plate 2, go beyond the upper end of the front plate 2, and enter the mailbox as shown by arrow a.

である。 The box body 1 is composed of a top plate 11, a side plate 6, a back plate 13, and a bottom plate 14. On both sides of the front opening of the box body 1, the front end of the side plate 6 is bent inward into an L shape. A bent piece 15 is formed. A front plate 2 is spanned between substantially central portions of the opposing bent pieces 15, and both ends of the front plate 2 are fixed to the bent pieces 15 by a fastener or by welding. A slot 3 is formed between the upper edge of the front plate 2 and the front edge of the top plate 11. An input port cover 17 is attached to the input port 3 so as to be openable and closable. Input lid 1
7 is rotatably supported by a shaft 18 at the upper end of the bent piece 15. Lower edge of front plate 2 and bottom plate 14
A take-out lid 19 is attached to the opening between the front end and the front end so as to be openable and closable. The ejection opening cover 19 is rotatably supported on the bending piece 19 by a shaft 20. The upper part of the front plate 2 is inclined obliquely upward to the rear, and a rain catch gutter 5 opening upward is provided on the inclined piece of the front plate 2 on the rear side of the upper end part over the entire width. At least one of both end surfaces (both in the embodiment shown in the drawings) of the rain catch gutter 5 is made to protrude laterally beyond the front plate 2, and the tip of this protruding portion is opened. A water catch gutter 7 whose upper surface opens vertically below the end of the rain catch gutter 5 is provided on the inner surface of at least one (both in the embodiment shown in the drawings) of the side plates 6 on both sides of the box body 1. . A cylindrical downspout 8 is provided on at least one (both in the embodiment shown in the drawings) of both sides of the front part of the box body 1, and the upper opening of the cylindrical downspout 8 is connected to the water receiving gutter 7. It is made to face the lower part of the drainage part 9. Here, the bent piece 19 is fitted with a substantially Z-shaped gutter component 21 to constitute the cylindrical downpipe 8. The gutter component 21 is welded. Fold the piece 19 with the fixing tool or
and is fixed to the side plate 6. The front end of the bottom plate 14 has a rain flap 22 bent in a dogleg shape, and the end of the rain flap 22 corresponding to the outlet 10, which is the opening at the lower end of the downspout 8, is cut out. Rainwater from the outlet 10 of the downspout 8 is discharged to the outside through this notch 28. By the way, when the input port cover 17 is opened, the box body 1 of the input port cover 17
The rain catch gutter 5 is located at the rear of the end that protrudes inward, so that when the input port cover 17 is opened, rainwater that falls from the end of the input port cover 17 does not infiltrate into the box body 1. There is. Also take out palate 19
When opened, the upper end of the rain return piece 22 is positioned further back than the end of the take-out cover 19 that protrudes into the box body 1, and the rainwater that falls from the end of the take-out cover 19 flows into the rain return piece 22. It is designed to be received by the box body 1 to prevent it from penetrating into the box body 1. Inside the box body 1, a partition plate 25 is disposed so as to overlap the bottom plate 14. An auxiliary water return piece 26 is provided at the front end of the partition plate 25 and is located higher toward the rear. The upper end of the piece 26 is located behind the upper end of the rain return piece 22, and even if rainwater were to exceed the upper end of the rain return piece 22, the auxiliary water return piece 26 would prevent further infiltration.
The water flows along the auxiliary water return piece 26 and the auxiliary water return piece 2
The water flows to the upper surface of the front end of the bottom plate 14 through drainage holes 29 provided at 6, and is drained to the outside through drainage holes 27 at both front ends of the rain return piece 22. If rainwater infiltrates beyond the upper edge of the input port 3 provided at the upper front of the box body 1, it will be captured by the rain gutter 5 and drained from the end of the rain gutter 5 into the water container 7. ,
The water flows from the water receiving bucket 7 to the vertical bucket 8, and is drained to the outside from the outlet 10 at the lower end of the vertical bucket 8 through the notch 28. By the way, if the downspout 8 is formed integrally with the side plate 6 at the front end of the box body 1 (integral in this case includes fixing by welding etc.), the downspout 8 of the box body 1 will be attached to the reinforcing material. It will play a role. Note that the front end of the side plate 6 is bent into a cylindrical shape to connect the downspout 8 to the side plate 6.
It may be formed integrally with. In the above embodiment, an example in which the take-out lid 19 was provided on the front part of the box body 1 was shown, but as shown in FIG. The take-out lid 19 may be attached to the lid so that it can be opened and closed.

As described above, in the present invention, a rain gutter that opens upward is provided on the back side of the upper end of the front plate of the box body over the entire width, and at least one of both end faces of this rain gutter is opened. A water catch gutter whose top surface opens vertically below the end of the rain gutter is provided on the inner surface of at least one of the side plates on both sides of the box body, and a water catch gutter is provided on at least one of the both sides of the front part of the box main body. A cylindrical downspout is provided, the upper opening of the downspout faces the lower part of the drainage part of the water receiving gutter, and a discharge port is provided at the lower end of the downspout at the bottom of the box body to drain rainwater from the downspout to the outside. , even if rainwater overflows the top edge of the front panel due to the influence of wind, the rainwater will be caught by the rainwater gutter, flow into the rainwater gutter, and then drained from the end of the rainwater gutter. Rainwater is collected in the water receiving gutter and discharged to the bottom of the mailbox through the downspout, and rainwater that goes over the top of the front panel enters the inside of the mailbox and collects mail. This can prevent things from getting wet. Moreover, even though this method prevents rainwater that has climbed over the top of the front panel from entering the inside of the mailbox, there is a downspout inside the mailbox that drains the rainwater, so the rainwater drainage area is is not exposed to the outside, and as a result, dirt such as limescale that occurs in the rainwater drainage route is not visible to the outside, improving the appearance.
