The present invention relates to a container using a composite styrene-based resin sheet having a paper-like texture, which is obtained by thermoforming a laminated sheet of a skin layer and a core layer. Recent plastic products are required to have a glossy surface that resembles glass or ceramics, but on the other hand, there is also a strong demand for plastic products that have a matte surface that strongly resembles paper. ing. The present invention was developed to meet these needs. That is, the present invention comprises at least two layers, the skin layer is made of a mixture of a styrene resin and an olefin resin, and the center layer is a mixture of a styrene resin and an inorganic filler. It is characterized by a total light transmittance of 35% or less. If only a sheet made of a mixture of styrene resin and olefin resin for the skin layer is used, the surface will have a matte appearance, but the degree of matteness will be weak, the container will have a poor paper-like appearance, and the practical strength of the container will be weak. is difficult. Further, a sheet made of a mixture of a styrene resin and an inorganic filler for the core layer alone has excellent light-shielding properties, but it is difficult to obtain a container with a matte surface. That is, the combination of the surface layer consisting of at least two layers and the core layer of the present invention makes it possible to obtain a container that has a matte surface and a paper-like appearance, which is the object of the present invention. It is. Furthermore, containers using this composite styrene resin sheet exhibit excellent printing effects when the surface of the thermoformed product is printed. The composition of the skin layer and the core layer of the container using the composite styrene resin sheet of the present invention can be either two layers, a skin layer and a core layer, or a three-layer structure with skin layers on both sides of the core layer.
It can also be a layer. In the two-layer structure of the epidermis layer and the core layer, the wall thickness ratio of the epidermis layer and the core layer is 5/95 to 50/
You can choose between 50. When the ratio of the skin layer to the core layer is less than 5/95, it is difficult to obtain the desired surface condition, and when it exceeds 50/50, the container has a weak drop strength, for example, and cannot be put to practical use. Furthermore, in the case of a three-layer structure of epidermis/core/epidermis,
It is preferable to select a wall thickness ratio between 2.5/95/2.5 and 25/50/25. If the skin layer is thin, the surface will not be matte, and if the skin layer is thick, it will be similar to a two-layer structure. There is a strength problem, which impairs practicality. Next, the structure of the epidermis layer and the core layer in the present invention will be explained. The styrene resin used for the skin layer of the present invention is mainly impact-resistant styrene resin (hereinafter referred to as HI-PS), but styrene resin (hereinafter referred to as GP-PS) is
) or a styrene-butadiene block copolymer (hereinafter referred to as SER) can also be mixed and used depending on the purpose. HI−
The mixing ratio of PS/GP-PS can be changed depending on practical use, but it is preferable to use it at 30/70 or more, and in the case of HI-PS/GP-PS/SBR, it is 90/90.
It is preferable to select from the range of 30/80 to 10/30 to 5. On the other hand, the olefin resin used for the skin layer is low density polyethylene (hereinafter referred to as LDPE),
Linear low density polyethylene (hereinafter referred to as LLDPE), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (hereinafter referred to as EVA)
), ethylene-ethyl acrylate (hereinafter referred to as
EEA), polypropylene and ethylene-α
- Single or mixed resins of olefin random copolymers can be used. The melt flow index (ASTM D-1238 method) of these resins is 0.1 to 15 g/10 minutes, preferably 0.3 to 10 g/10 minutes.
It is suitable to use as many as possible to achieve the effects of the present invention. Metroflow index is 0.1
If it is less than 15 g/10 minutes, uniform mixing with the styrene resin will be difficult, and if it exceeds 15 g/10 minutes, the surface will be insufficiently matte. The vinyl acetate content of EVA is preferably 20% by weight or less because if the vinyl acetate content is too high, eye stain may occur during sheet production. Regarding EEA, if the amount of ethyl acrylate is too large, the matting effect will be insufficient, so the amount of ethyl acrylate should be 5 to 5.
A range of 30% by weight is preferred. Furthermore, the ethylene-α-olefin random copolymer can be selected from random copolymers in which α-olefin is a component consisting of propylene, butene, pentene, hexene, etc., and ethylene, and commercially available Mitsui Petrochemical Industries, Ltd. Manufactured by product name "Tafmar"
is suitable. Furthermore, the olefin resin is
It can be used even if more than one component is mixed. Next, setting the weight ratio of styrene resin and olefin resin is important because if the amount of olefin resin is small, the desired matte state will be weak, and if the amount of olefin resin is large, the strength will be weak. If you do so, trimming scum will be generated when trimming the sheet, and surface abrasion will increase.
A suitable range is a weight ratio of styrene resin to olefin resin of 95/5 to 50/50. On the other hand, the core layer is composed of a styrene resin and an inorganic filler, and the mixing ratio thereof is regulated by the total light transmittance of the core layer. In other words, the total light transmittance is 35
% or less, preferably 30% or less. Further, the total transmittance may be regulated by the thickness of the core layer, the amount of filler, or a combination thereof. If the total light transmittance exceeds 35%, the composite sheet, when made into a composite sheet, will have a poor paper texture and a marbled appearance, which is not suitable for the purpose of the present invention. The styrene resin used for the core layer has the same composition as the skin layer and there is no problem, but in order to improve compatibility with the inorganic filler, other components such as olefin resin may be used in combination. There is no problem at all. Inorganic fillers include commonly used heavy or light calcium carbonate, titanium oxide, clay, talc, mica, and the like. These may be used alone or as a mixture of two or more components. Regarding the skin phase of the present invention, it is fully possible to add antistatic agents, inorganic pigments, etc. for the purpose of imparting other functions. There is no difference in the method of obtaining a composite sheet, whether it is a method of simultaneously obtaining a composite sheet using a coextrusion method, or a method in which the skin layer and core layer are manufactured separately and then laminated together using an adhesive to form a composite sheet. do not have. The container of the present invention can be sufficiently formed using a vacuum forming machine, a pressure forming machine, a vacuum/pressure forming machine, etc., and the surface of these molded products can also be printed by a commonly used curved surface printing method. It is possible to print, and it is also quite possible to print on a composite sheet before molding and then thermoform. This will be explained in detail below using examples. Example 1 40m/mφ extruder (manufactured by Toshiba Machine L/D=28) 2
A co-extrusion sheet device consisting of a stand and a 65 m/mφ extruder (manufactured by Toshiba Machine L/D = 28 vacuum Vent type) and a 3-layer die (width = 800 m/m) produces a 1300 μ thick sheet consisting of each layer. Manufactured. The surface gloss and surface roughness of the obtained sheet are as shown in the table. Using this sheet, the diameter is 72m/mφ and the height is 86mm.
m/m open mouth-shaped cups were molded using a pressure/vacuum molding machine manufactured by Kansai Automatic Machinery (temperature 350℃, heating 30℃).
molding at 100° C. and 4.2 Kg/cm 2 of compressed air). Furthermore, printing was performed on the surface using a four-color printing machine manufactured by Nippon Kamen Printing Co., Ltd. The surface of the cup obtained is matte and moist with a paper-like texture, and the print on the surface has a good appearance. Example 2 Using the same sheet manufacturing apparatus as in Example 1, sheets having the configuration and surface characteristics shown in the table were manufactured. Next, using this sheet, a vacuum forming machine made by Sanwa Kogyo (temperature 350℃, heating 15 seconds, 720mmHg) was used to
A square cup measuring m/m x 97 m/m x 40 m/mH was molded. The appearance of the obtained square cup has a strong paper-like texture, which is not found in conventional plastic containers. Example 3 Using the same sheet manufacturing apparatus as in Example 1, sheets having the configuration and surface characteristics shown in the table were manufactured. Next, this sheet was molded into a dish-shaped product measuring 260 m/mφ x 15 m/mH using a vacuum forming machine manufactured by Asano Research Institute. The plate thus obtained had a matte surface and a paper-like texture, and had surface characteristics similar to those of conventional paper plates.
