Claims (1)
- 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 (1) 帳票上に記入または印刷された文字を読み
取り、その結果を表示または印刷する文字認識装
置において、 帳票を走査して文字の読み取りを行なう読取部
と、 該読取部で読み取られた文字の文字パタンの字
体を選択する字体選択段と、選択さえた字体に対
応する辞書と前記文字パタンとの照合により該文
字パタンの認識を行ない、該認識によつて得られ
た認識結果と該認識結果に対応する前記選択され
た字体とをそれぞれ出力する認識段と、 該出力された字体で表示または印刷する表示・
印刷段とを 具えたことを特徴とする文字認識装置。 (2) 請求項１記載の字体選択段は、 (a) 文字パタンを予め定めた複数方向毎に走
査して検出した文字線の断面の中からその断面長
が前記文字パタン内の線幅よりも十分に長い断面
を抽出することにより複数のサブパタンを作成す
るサブパタン作成部と、 (b) 前記サブパタンのうち水平サブパタン及
び垂直サブパタンの各々について線幅を計算する
水平および垂直サブパタン線幅計算部と、 (c) 該水平サブパタンおよび垂直サブパタン
の線幅比と予め設定された線幅基準値との大きさ
の比較により字体を選択する辞書選択部とを 具えることを特徴とする文字認識装置。 (3) 請求項１記載の認識段は、 (a) 文字パタンを予め定めた複数方向毎に走
査して検出した文字線の断面の中からその断面長
が前記文字パタン内の線幅よりも十分に長い断面
を抽出することにより複数のサブパタンを作成す
るサブパタン作成部と、 (b) 前記サブパタンにおける任意の分割単位
領域の黒点数を前記文字線幅のストローク方向に
対応した文字枠の大きさとで正規化して得られる
量を特徴マトリクスとして出力する特徴マトリク
ス作成部と、 (c) 前記辞書として選択された照合辞書マス
クと前記特徴マトリクスとを照合して当該文字パ
タンを認識する認識部とを 具えることを特徴とする文字認識装置。
