However, in integrated circuits, there is often a demand to share multi-stage amplifiers integrated into ICs and to switch the number of operating stages of the amplifiers in a row according to the input. In the configuration of a multistage direct-coupled amplifier as shown in FIG. 1, a certain output signal can be obtained by taking out the output from an appropriate number of stages in the amplifier array. However, if you extract the output signal from the middle stage like this,
Although the subsequent amplifiers are not particularly required, they are in operation and consume current. Further, from the standpoint of noise, since the signal passed through the subsequent amplifier is fed back, an adverse effect appears, and there is a problem that an appropriate output signal cannot be obtained.

<Configuration of the invention> The multistage direct-coupled amplifier of the invention includes an amplifier row in which n amplifiers (n≧2) are connected in series, an input terminal provided at the input section of the first stage amplifier, and an i-th stage amplifier ( 1≦i<n), the first output terminal provided at the output section, and the second output terminal provided at the output section of the n-th stage amplifier.
and the i-th output terminal according to the switching operation.
a feedback path that selectively connects either the output section of the stage amplifier or the output section of the n-th stage amplifier to the input section of the first stage amplifier; and means that operates in conjunction with the switching operation of the feedback path. When the output signal of the i-th stage amplifier is fed back to the input section of the first-stage amplifier, the current path of each amplifier from the (i+1)-th stage amplifier to the n-th stage amplifier is cut off, and the The present invention is characterized by comprising means for making the current path of each of the amplifiers conductive when the output signal of the n-th stage amplifier is fed back to the input section of the first-stage amplifier.

<Example> In FIG. 2, n amplifiers 1 1 , 1 2 ...1 o
are connected in series, the first stage amplifier 1
An input terminal 2 is provided at one input section, and an input signal is supplied between the input terminal 2 and the other input terminal connected to the ground terminal via a capacitor C 0 . Rin is the input resistance. An intermediate stage of the amplifier array, for example, the i-th stage amplifier 1
Output terminal 3 is derived to the output part of i , and the final nth
An output terminal 4 is led out to the output section of the stage amplifier 1o . That is, the circuit is configured to be able to take out an output signal from either the i-th or n-th stage. Therefore, the feedback path 5 returns the output signals of the i-th stage amplifier 1i and the n-th stage amplifier 1o to the input section of the first stage amplifier 11 , respectively.
Switches 6 and 7 for selecting the return path are connected to each of the switches 6 and 7, and one of them is selected and made conductive. Each amplifier 1 1 to 1 o has a power supply voltage.
The operating current I 1 to I o between ground and the application of V cc
However, it is not necessary to operate the amplifiers 1 i+1 to 1 o after the i+1 stage from which the output signal is taken out while the signal is being taken out from the output terminal 3. Therefore amplifier 1
A current path is connected to each of i+1 to 1 o by the switches 6 and 7.
Switch SW i+1 , which operates in conjunction with the switching of
SW i+2 ...SW o is inserted, switch 6 is on, switch 7 is off, and the current path cutoff switch is activated.
SW i+1 to SW o are turned off to turn off the operation of each amplifier 1 i+1 to 1 o . That is, in a state where an output signal is derived from the output terminal 3, the first half i amplifiers are connected in series, and the signal via the switch 6 is fed back to form an appropriate output signal with less noise. At this time, there is no current consumption in the latter half i+1 to n-stage amplifiers. Also, when the output signal is derived from the output terminal 4, the switch 6 is turned off and the switch is turned off instead.
SW i+1 to SW o and switch 7 are turned on, and amplifiers 1 i+1 to 1 o operate in addition to the first i amplifiers.
An output signal is derived from the final stage and also fed back to the input stage to form a proper output signal.

FIG. 3 is an electrical circuit diagram showing the amplifier shown in the above block diagram in more detail .
~1 4 are directly connected to each other, and the output is taken out from each of the second and fourth stage amplifiers. Two input terminals 2 1 and 2 2 are provided, and the amplifier operates according to the input. Switch the number of stages. That is, input terminal 2
1 , the selection switch 6' side is selected, and as a result, the third and fourth stage amplifiers 13 , 14 are connected via the transistor Tr1 .
It also cuts off the current path on the input amplifier A2 side. On the other hand, the input section amplifier A 1 and the first and second stage amplifiers 1 1 and 1 2 operate to derive a signal from the output terminal 3. This output signal is also fed back to the first stage amplifier side. Other selection switch 7'
is selected, the current path of the input amplifier A 1 is cut off via the transistor Tr 2 , and instead, the signal applied to the input terminal 2 2 is taken in via the amplifier A 2 side, and all amplification The output signal that has passed through the stage is taken out from the terminal 4, and the output signal is fed back to the input section of the first stage amplifier.

In the above embodiment, one of the amplifier arrays is used as the output of the intermediate stage.
I have described a circuit that derives an output from a point, but
It is also possible to add more output terminals by interlocking the operations of the switches provided in the current path of the amplifier in a predetermined relationship.

<Effects> According to the present invention, by simply adding a simple configuration, multiple stages of amplifiers can be selectively operated in correspondence with the input, and the output signal taken out can be fed back to the first stage of the amplifier array to generate the output signal. As a result, the power consumption during operation can be significantly reduced, and a noise-free output signal can be generated, increasing the reliability of the multi-stage chain-coupled amplifier.
