In addition, in order to reliably prevent coins of other than a specific type (so-called different types of coins) from being mixed into bags or packaging in such coin processing machines, the " A device for removing different types of coins for coin processing machines (hereinafter referred to as the second conventional example) has been developed. This coin processing machine not only guides only coins of a set denomination to the exit side of the passageway and bags or wraps them, but also detects the magnetic characteristics of the coins in the passageway in which the coins are transported. Based on this detection data, it is determined whether the coin is a different type of coin or not, and the coin that is determined to be a different type of coin is removed from the system by switching the gate during the chute.

In the device of the second conventional example, when a different type of coin is detected, the flow of coins following the different type of coin is blocked, and a gate provided on the downstream side of the detection position is operated to eliminate only the different type of coin. It is necessary to do so. Therefore, in order to reliably exclude foreign coins that try to flow after normal coins, it is necessary to operate the gate at high speed, and a solenoid for driving the gate is required.
There is a problem in that a large capacity device, in other words, a large device with large driving power is required.

(1) Normal operation The CPU 50 supplies an opening command to the coin stopper 61 in step SP1. By this,
The stop shaft 20 rotates and the notch 20a opens into the transfer passage 8.
It will be possible to pass coins. Then CPU
50 supplies a rotation command to the rotating disk 1. As a result, the rotating disk 1 starts rotating in the direction of the arrow A, and the coins in the rotating disk 1 pass through the thickness regulating plate 2 and are fed into the transfer passage 8 from the discharge port 2a. At the same time, the CPU 50 supplies a normal rotation command to the feed belt 3 to cause the feed belt 3 to rotate in the normal direction. The coins thus fed into the transfer path 8 are driven by the frictional force of the feed belt 3 and advance through the transfer path 8 . When the coin passes through the material sensor 18, the material sensor 18 detects the magnetic permeability of the coin, and the detection result is supplied to the CPU 50 via the input port IP. CPU
50 reads from the ROM 51 the magnetic permeability of the coin to be sorted out of the magnetic permeabilities recorded in advance and compares it with the detection result (step SP2). and,
If the magnetic permeabilities match, the process moves to step SP3.
Note that processing when the magnetic permeabilities do not match will be described later.

The CPU 50 reads the detection result supplied from the counting sensor 19 in this step SP3, and
Count this. That is, the coin that has passed through the material sensor 18 further advances and passes through the counting sensor 19. This is detected by the counting sensor 19 and supplied to the CPU 50 via the input port IP. When the CPU 50 receives the detection result from the counting sensor 19, it adds 1 to the counted value. Then,
The CPU 50 compares this counted value with the previously set number of coins (step SP4), and if they do not match, the CPU 50 sends the coins to step SP2 and performs the same process on the next coin. During this time, the coin is stored in the packaging chute section 2.

An opening command is supplied to the shutter mechanism 29. This causes the shutter mechanism 29 to rotate, the shutter 28 to move forward, and then to stop. That is, as the shutter mechanism 29 rotates, the cam 31 rotates, and this rotation is converted into linear motion by the link 30, causing the shutter 28 to move backward. At this time, when the magnetic plate 31a is detected by the shutter position detection section 33, the detection result is supplied to the CPU 50, and upon receiving this detection result, the CPU 50 supplies a stop command to the shutter mechanism 29. As a result, the movement of the shutter 28 is stopped, and the packaging chute 23 and the connecting tube 27 are brought into an open state. Then, the CPU 50 returns to step SP1 and continues sorting the coins.

The CPU 50 moves the chute 21 to the packaging position (the state shown in FIG. 1) in step SP20, and then proceeds to step SP21. The processing at step SP21 is the same as the processing at step SP16 described above. That is, the stop shaft 20 is opened for a short time, the rotating disk 1 and the feed belt 3 are rotated forward for a short time, and only the different types of coins are placed on the shutter 28. In this case, the different types of coins are located within the coin guide section 26.

As explained above, according to this invention, in a coin processing machine equipped with a movable chute that selectively drops coins sent from a transfer passage into a packaging section or a counting section, the coin processing machine is provided in the transfer passage,
a detection means for detecting a different type of coin from passing coins; a shutter provided at the outlet of the transfer passage and displaced based on the detection result of the detection means to receive the different type of coin; provided on the movable chute; moves as the movable chute moves,
Since the discharging means is provided for discharging the different types of coins received by the shutter, the different types of coins can be automatically and reliably removed from among the coins processed at high speed, and the different types of coins can be removed. It is possible to automatically return to normal processing operation even after
The processing capacity of a coin handling machine can be significantly improved. This also results in labor savings and the reliability of the processed coins is extremely high. In addition,
When removing different types of coins, it is possible to allow sufficient time for the operation of the sorting means, and therefore there is no need for a large-capacity solenoid or the like as a drive source for the sorting operation. By having the devices perform operations in a specific order, the system can be realized without making any particular changes to the hardware.
