  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 認識すべき文字図形を光電変換し量子化して黒
    ビツト及び白ビツトで表わされる原パターンを得
    る前処理部、該原パターンから該原パターンの特
    徴を抽出する特徴抽出部、前記原パターンの線幅
    を算出する線幅計算部及び前記抽出された特徴を
    照合用辞書マスクと照合し前記文字図形を認識す
    る識別部を具える文字認識装置において、 前記線幅と予め定めた線幅基準値とを比較して
    辞書マスク選択信号を出力する辞書マスク選択部
    と、 ２種類以上の辞書マスクを格納する辞書メモリ部
    であつて、これら辞書マスク中から前記辞書マス
    ク選択信号によつて前記照合用辞書マスクが指定
    される辞書メモリ部と を具えたことを特徴とする文字認識装置。
