数個の磁極を設けてなる永久磁石部材と、磁性ト
ナーを含有する現像剤を収容すると共に現像剤搬
送撹拌用の可動部材、前記スリーブおよび永久磁
石部材を支持し、かつ検出面を現像剤に臨ませた
トナーレベルセンサを設けてなる現像装置におい
て、検出面と対向する可動部材の外周に永久磁石
からなるクリーニング部材を設け、永久磁石に吸
着された現像剤によつて形成される磁気ブラシに
よりトナーレベルセンサの検出面をクリーニング
するように構成したことを特徴とする現像装置。 (2) トナーレベルセンサが、1次コイルとこの
1次コイルに電磁的に結合した2次コイルとを含
む検出ヘツドと、前記1次コイルに交流電流を供
給する発振回路と、前記2次コイルから生じる差
動出力の位相変化を検出する位相検波回路とを含
む電気回路とを有し、位相検波回路の出力から磁
性現像剤のみかけ透磁率の変化に対応する出力信
号を得るように形成した磁気ブリツジ式センサで
