[Detailed explanation of the invention] [Purpose of the invention] (Field of industrial application) This invention measures the length of an object to be measured, especially a cable being manufactured, and measures the length of the object to be measured at regular intervals. The present invention relates to a length mark printing device for a measuring object that displays and prints a measuring length on the surface.

(Prior Art) Conventionally, when manufacturing wires such as electric wires and cables with length marks, a measuring wheel and a printing roll interlocked with the measuring wheel are brought into contact with the surface of the wire running on the production line. The printing roll is rotated by friction between the measuring wheel and the filament, and a length mark is printed and adhered to the surface of the filament.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) If the above-mentioned conventional length mark attachment means is used, the introduction angle of the filament to the measuring wheel changes due to fluctuations in the outer diameter of the filament, causing it to deviate from horizontal. , an error occurs between the length measured by the measuring wheel and the actual length of the striatum, and a deviation occurs between the value indicated by the length mark and the actual length of the striatum.

The accuracy of length mark attachment by the length mark attachment means described above is not at all high, and there is usually an error of about 3/1000 to 5/1000 with respect to the actual length.

The length of the filament to be manufactured is controlled by the length mark, and the above error is naturally not allowed on the minus side of the actual length, but only on the plus side. Therefore, the manufactured filament always has an extra length. For example, when manufacturing a 1000 m long filament, the tolerance is 0.2%.
If it is 0.5%, the excess length will be up to 20m, and if it is 0.5%, it will be up to 50m. This extra length ends up being a loss, and the longer the filament is manufactured, the higher the accuracy of the length management, otherwise the loss will be greater and the cost of the filament will increase.

This invention was made based on the above circumstances,
It is an object of the present invention to provide a length mark printing device for an object to be measured in which the error between the length mark attached to the object to be measured and the actual length of the filament is as small as possible.

(Function) If there is a variation in the outer diameter of the object to be measured, the number of pulse signals generated per unit time by the first pulse generator will be different from that of the second pulse generator. In order to eliminate this difference, it is sufficient to change the introduction angle of the object to be measured into the measuring wheel so that it is in the horizontal direction.

In the length mark printing apparatus for measuring objects of the present invention having the above configuration, the computer determines how far the pair of guide rollers should be moved up and down based on the difference between the numbers of the two pulse signals so that the introduction angle can be adjusted in the horizontal direction. Based on this, a signal is issued to control the vertical adjustment mechanism.

The measuring wheel 2 having the above configuration is equipped with a first pulse generator 8 that generates a predetermined number of pulses per unit measuring length of the measuring wheel 2, for example, 1 pulse/measurement length 1 mm. has been done. Further, in front of the measuring wheel 2, that is, on the upstream side of the object to be measured 7, there is provided a precision measuring device 9, such as a belt type, which can precisely measure the length of the object to be measured. Further, this precision measuring device is provided with a second pulse generator 10 that generates the same predetermined number of pulses as the first pulse generator 8 for each unit measuring length.

A pair of guide rollers 12, 12, which are driven up and down by a vertical adjustment mechanism 13 controlled by a control signal from the computer 11, are provided on the side of the measurement wheel 2 where the object to be measured 7 is introduced. The object to be measured 7 is a precision measuring device 9 as shown by the arrow in the figure.
A pair of guide rollers 12, 12, measuring wheel 2
The paper travels through the gap between the printing wheel 3 and the roller 5, and the gap between the printing wheel 3 and the roller 6 in this order. Here, since the precision measuring device does not cause slippage with respect to the object to be measured 7, the actual length of the object to be measured is precisely measured. Therefore, the second pulse generator 10 generates a pulse signal that accurately corresponds to the actual length of the object to be measured 7.

If the measuring wheel 2 is introduced at a predetermined introduction angle, that is, horizontally, to the object to be measured 7, and there is no change in its outer diameter, the measuring wheel 2 will measure the length of the object to be measured 7. The number of pulse signals generated per unit time by the first pulse generator 8 is measured accurately;
The number of pulse signals generated by the second pulse generator 10 per unit time is the same. In this case, the computer 11 compares and calculates the pulse signals from both pulse generators 8 and 10, and generates a control signal 0 for the vertical adjustment mechanism 13 (no control signal is generated).
That is, the vertical adjustment mechanism 13 is positioned in a predetermined position, and the object to be measured 7 passing through the guide rollers 12 is maintained in a state where it is introduced horizontally to the measuring wheel 2 and the printing wheel 3.

Here, it is assumed that there is a change in the outer diameter of the object to be measured 7. In this case, the angle of introduction of the measuring wheel 2 into the object to be measured 7 will vary with the change in the outer diameter, and an error will occur in the measuring length by the measuring wheel 2. That is, the number of pulse signals generated per unit time by the first pulse generator 8 is different from that of the second pulse generator 10. In order to eliminate the above-mentioned error, the introduction angle of the object to be measured 7 to the measuring wheel 2 may be increased or decreased so that the introduction angle becomes horizontal. Based on the difference between the numbers of both pulse signals, the computer 11 determines that the guide rollers 12 and 12
A calculation is performed to determine how much the angle of introduction must be raised or lowered to bring the introduction angle into the horizontal direction and eliminate the error, and based on this, a signal for controlling the vertical adjustment mechanism 13 is issued. It should be noted that the difference between the numbers of pulse signals gradually decreases due to the up-and-down movement, and at the time when the difference becomes 0, the up-down adjustment mechanism is statically fixed.

[Effects of the Invention] As is clear from the above, in the length mark printing apparatus for a measuring object of the present invention, the length mark is printed by constantly correcting the adhesion position of the length mark by the precision measuring device. Therefore, the error between the length mark and the actual length can be minimized, and the length can be accurately controlled using the length mark, so that losses during the manufacturing of the filament can be minimized.
