Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain high sealing performance at all times by forming a glass guide section in the hollow lip of a weather strip fixed on the peripheral section of the opening of a car body, and thereby forming a thin wall section for deflection guiding at a place close to the tip end section of seal section. CONSTITUTION:The inside section of the hollow lip 6 of a weather strip fitted on the the peripheral section of the opening of a car body is formed with a base section 3, a water arresting groove section 9 and a glass guide section 10 in such a way as to be connected with the base end section of a seal section 4 which forms a thin wall section 14 for deflection guiding. When a pane of a door glass 8 is lifted after a door has been closed in a state that the pane of door glass 8 is lower down, the seal section 4 of the hollow lip 6 is deflected so as to be deformed by the end face of the pane of door glass 8. When the pane of door glass 8 is lifted to a specified position, the seal section 4 is separated from the end face of the pane of door glass 8 so that it comes close in contact with the peripheral section at its inner side while the tip end of the seal section 4 is deflected to a great extent at the thin wall section 14, this permits the section in front of said deflected section to make face-contact with the pane of door glass 8.

This weather strip is attached to the opening edge 1 of the vehicle body via a retainer 2, and a base portion 3 directly fixed to the retainer 2 has a seal portion 4 that bulges toward the outside of the vehicle and a seal portion 4 that extends toward the inside of the vehicle. A hollow lip 6 with a decorative lip portion 5 extending therein extends. A water trapping groove 7 is formed at the base of the seal portion 4 from the base portion 3, and the tip of the seal portion 4 can be brought into close contact with the inner peripheral edge of the door glass 8. Note that 9 in the figure is a peripheral flange of the vehicle body opening edge 1.

In the weather strip constructed in this manner, when the door is closed and the door glass 8 is in the raised position, the seal portion 4 of the hollow lip 6 comes into close contact with the inner surface of the door glass 8, sealing the interior and exterior of the vehicle interior. When car wash water is applied to the car body opening edge 1 in this state, the water pressure of the car wash water is mainly received at the water trapping groove 7, and the car wash water is applied along the water trapping groove 7. Discharge. At this time, since the seal part 4 is in contact with the door glass 8 from the inside, the car wash water does not directly hit the seal part 4, and it is more strongly pressed against the door glass 8 by the water pressure of the car wash water received in the water trapping groove 7. Further, the water trapping groove 7 traps rainwater etc. flowing down from the roof side and drains the water from the front and rear of the vehicle body. Therefore, rainwater flowing down from the roof side does not drip into the passenger compartment even when the door is opened.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention In the case of a sashless door, the door glass 8 is set in a depressed state inside the vehicle body because it is necessary to make stronger contact between the door glass 8 and the opening edge 1 of the vehicle body. Therefore, in the case of the above-mentioned conventional weather strip, when the door glass 8 is pushed up with the door closed, a seal is formed as shown in FIG. The tip of part 4 is the door glass 8
or the water trapping groove 7 may be crushed by the seal portion 4 pressed against the door glass 8 as shown in FIG. If the seal part 4 is pulled out as shown in FIG. 5, the contact area between the seal part 4 and the door glass 8 will become smaller, resulting in poor sealing performance. Car wash water hits directly and water leaks are likely to occur from there. Also, groove 7 for water trapping.
If the grooves 7 are crushed, the function of the water trapping grooves 7 cannot be fully exerted, making it difficult to maintain sealing performance when car wash water is applied.

Therefore, the present invention has been developed so that when the door glass is pushed up with the door closed, the seal part is brought into close contact with the door glass in an optimal position, and a groove for trapping water is reliably secured, thereby ensuring high sealing performance at all times. It is an object of the present invention to provide a weather strip for a rustless door type vehicle that can be maintained.

Effect By taking such measures, when the door glass is pushed up with the door closed, the end face of the door glass comes into contact with the hollow lip, and from then on the door glass conforms to the shape of the glass guide part of the hollow lip. along to the reference position. When the door glass is raised to the highest level, the tip of the seal part bends at the thinner part and comes into close contact with the inner peripheral edge of the door glass, so that the water trapping groove is also secured without being crushed.

In FIG. 1.2, 1 is the opening edge of the vehicle body, and 2 is a retainer for attaching the weather strip according to the present invention to the opening edge l of the vehicle body. The weather strip has a hollow lip 6 extending from the base portion 3, which includes a seal portion 4 that bulges outward from the vehicle and a decorative lip portion 5 that bulges toward the inside of the vehicle. A groove 7 for trapping water is formed in the connecting portion of the strand. The basic configuration up to this point is almost the same as that shown in the drawings from FIG. 3 onwards.

In this embodiment, the hollow lip 6 is further provided with a sub-seal portion 15. This sub-seal part 15 is connected to the water trapping groove 7 on the upper side of the seal part 4 and is formed so as to bulge out to the outside of the vehicle, so that when the door glass 8 is raised to the highest level, the end surface of the door glass 8 is They are becoming closer.

In the above configuration, when the weather strip is attached to the vehicle body opening edge 1 and the door is closed with the door glass 8 raised to its highest position, the inner peripheral edge of the door glass 8 becomes hollow as shown in FIG. The lip 6 comes into close contact with the seal portion 4, and the end surface of the door glass 8 comes into close contact with the sub-seal portion 15.

At this time, the tip of the seal portion 4 is largely bent at the thin wall portion 14, and the bent tip comes into surface contact with the door glass 8. A groove 7 for trapping water is provided at the base of the seal portion 4 (upper part in the figure).

When the door glass 8 is further raised, the end face of the door glass 8 bends and deforms the seal portion 4 of the hollow lip 6. The force applied to the seal part 4 is mainly caused by the glass guide part 10.
As a result, the end portion of the door glass 8 receives a reaction force from the glass guide portion 10, and is gradually displaced toward the outside of the vehicle body as shown by the dashed line in FIG. Therefore, the upper end of the door glass 8 is located at the glass guide portion 1.
It ascends in a predetermined trajectory along the zero point. When the door glass 8 rises to a predetermined position in this manner, the seal portion 4 moves away from the end surface of the door glass 8 and comes into close contact with its inner peripheral edge, and the end surface of the door glass 8 comes into close contact with the sub-seal portion 15. . At this time, the tip of the seal part 4 is the thin part 1
4, it bends greatly, and the tip of this bending portion comes into surface contact with the door glass 8. As a result, when the door glass 8 is raised to the highest level, the door glass 8 and the hollow lip 6 are always maintained in a constant position, and the water trapping groove 7 is also secured without being crushed.

In the embodiment described above, the hollow part 11 is defined inside the hollow lip 6 by the glass guide part 10, but it is also possible to adopt a mode in which the hollow part 11 is made solid. Furthermore, it is also possible to adopt an embodiment in which the sub-seal portion 15 is not provided.

Effects of the Invention As explained above, according to the present invention, when the door glass is pushed up with the door closed, the edge of the door glass is guided by the glass guide section and moves in a constant trajectory. Moreover, when the door glass reaches the reference position, the tip of the seal part bends at the thin wall part and comes into close contact with the periphery of the door glass, so the seal part will not be pulled out by the edge of the door glass, and it will always be A consistent high sealing effect can be obtained. In addition, since only the tip of the seal part is largely deflected, the water trapping groove is secured without being crushed, and a seal is ensured even when car wash water is applied to the edge of the car body opening. It becomes like this.
