Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the straightness of a flat plate as a raw material largely by impregnating many carbon fiber tows with a resin at the specific rate of content of fibers, hardening the resin, molding a plate, and constituting a main part with said plate. CONSTITUTION:At first, a flat plate comprising the composite material of carbon fiber is formed by a pultrusion method. Namely, many carbon fiber tows are aligned in the logitudinal direction of the fiber. For this purpose, a tow bobbin is hooked on a creel stand. The tows are made to pass through several guide parts and then made to pass through a resin bath. At this time, an aluminum member which is treated with silane coupling agent is inserted into the core part of the bundle of the carbon fiber tows. Thus, the flat plate as the raw material is formed by pultrusion. The resin which is held in the resin bath can be a thermosetting resin, and a filler and the like are preferably used for epoxy resin. The resin bath is usually kept at room temperature. However, the bath can be heated as required. The carbon fiber twos which are impregnated with the resin at 40 - 70% rate of content of fibers are made to pass through dies which are held at 100 - 200 deg.C and have a recess-shaped cross section at the speed of 0.1 - 1 m/minute. Thus the straightness of the flat plate as the raw material can be improved to a large extent.

Conventionally, large calipers capable of measuring approximately 1 meter in length were made of stainless steel and weighed approximately 4'k61, making it difficult for one person to handle them. Therefore, it has been proposed to replace the main components of the carp with carbon fiber composite materials for the purpose of reducing the weight of the carp (Utility Model Publication No. 56-77702, Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 58-11-53).
No. 01, JP-A No. 59-54901, etc.), but none with sufficient performance has been obtained. The production of large calipers using carbon fiber composite materials can be roughly divided into two types: one in which the material is released by a pultrusion method, and the other in which it is shaped by an autoclave pressurization method. The drawing method has a lower molding cost than the pressing method, and is softer and easier to machine, so the drawing or forming method is becoming more popular for large calipers.

When making a large caliper using a carbon fiber composite material flat plate manufactured by the conventional pultrusion method, the straightness of the flat plate itself is not high, so it is necessary to machine it to make it straight.
The load of machining was extremely large and was a major obstacle. Furthermore, when cutting the flat plate to provide the slide grooves, a significant bend b occurs due to the cutting, making machining increasingly difficult.

To explain the present invention more specifically, first, b carbon iii. m Form a composite material flat plate. That is, in order to align a large number of carbon fiber tows in the longitudinal direction of the fibers, a tow bin is hung on a crimp stand, passed through several guides, and then passed through a resin bath. It is also possible to streamline the crill stand work by pinning and doubling every 3 to 10 tows.

The composite molded plate constituting the large caliper obtained by the present invention is
It has very good straightness and is easy to machine, and if the molded plate has grooves from the beginning, the number of workpieces for machining will be reduced, making it possible to reduce manufacturing costs and preventing bending due to cutting. It has features such as lower molding cost than conventional laminating or forming methods, and is easy to machine because it is soft, making it possible to manufacture main scales for large calipers with excellent dimensional accuracy at low cost. It becomes possible to do so.
