Claims (1)

  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 (1) 複数の用紙収納部と、用紙収納部選択手段
    とを備え、選択手段よりの指示により用紙を給紙
    する用紙収納部を切換可能な画像形成装置の給紙
    装置において、 夫々の用紙収納部から画像形成位置までの搬送
    距離を記憶し、複数の用紙収納部に同一サイズの
    用紙があることを検知している場合に、切換基準
    枚数を設定する比較カウンタの値ｎと画像形成枚
    数とを比較し、該画像形成枚数が前記比較カウン
    タに設定された枚数ｎ以下の際には前記選択手段
    の切換作動により搬送距離の短い用紙収納部より
    給紙し、前記画像形成枚数がｎ枚以上の連続画像
    形成の際には前記選択手段の切換作動により搬送
    距離の長い用紙収納部より給紙することを特徴と
    する画像形成装置の給紙装置。 (2) 前記比較カウンタには設定数を変更する手
    段が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項１に
    記載の画像形成装置の給紙装置。
