The tundish is composed of a guide roll 5 and a pinch roll 6. However, since it is a seal in a high temperature area, thermal expansion and thermal distortion occur, so a certain gap ( For example, it is very difficult to maintain the temperature below 0.25 mm, and if molten metal were to be inserted, the molten metal would be extremely small and have a small heat capacity, so it should be fixed to the rotating water-cooled drums 3 and 3'. Immediately solidification occurs between the side dams 4, causing extremely large frictional resistance, resulting in the inability to drive the drums 3, 3' or damage to the side dams 4, making it impossible to cast.

A force acts to move the side dam 4, which is continuously integrated and fixed via the solidified shell 8', together with the water cooling drums 3, 3', and this force causes a shearing force on the solidified shell 8'. ), this significantly increases the pull-out resistance of the thin plate 10, making it impossible to pull it out or causing damage to the side dam 4, making it impossible to cast.

With this in mind, we provide a continuous casting machine for thin metal sheets that can always operate stably.

薄板と連続鋳造し得るものである。 That is, the present invention provides a continuous casting apparatus for thin metal sheets that mainly includes a tundish, a pair of water-cooled drums, a pair of fixed side dams, a guide roll, and a pinch roll, in which molten metal is removed at a portion of the lower end of the side dam that contacts the surface of the water-cooled drum. The side dam is cut out, and the side dam and the surface of the water-cooled drum form a U-shaped groove that opens on the molten metal side, extends from the top of the drum toward the molten metal along the drum surface, and opens on the drum surface. Continuous casting equipment for thin metal sheets, characterized in that a feed guide for mixed powder with glass powder or molten glass is provided, and the lower end of the feed guide is connected to the upper end of the groove of the side dam, and the groove is filled with The above-mentioned mixed powder and molten glass prevent leakage of the molten metal, and also prevent or delay the formation of a solidified shell at the groove opening to form a thin shell, and shear force applied to the solidified shell spanning between the side dam and the water-cooled drum. By minimizing the resistance caused by this, it is possible to stably and continuously cast metal sheets.

In A of B, the mixed powder 16 melts at the contact part with the molten metal in the molten metal pool 7 and becomes a liquid 17, and the liquid 17
The intermediate portion between the molten metal and the mixed powder 16 becomes molten glass 20, which prevents leakage of the molten metal in the molten metal pool 7. The glass powder in the mixed powder 16 has a low thermal conductivity, and a portion of the graphite powder combines with oxygen in the molten metal and oxygen in the atmosphere to cause an exothermic reaction, thereby preventing a temperature drop in local areas. By preventing the formation of a solidified shell in this area or by delaying its formation to form a thin shell, the shear resistance of the solidified shell formed across the side dam 4' and the water cooling drums 3, 3' can be minimized. This facilitates the driving of the water-cooled drums 3, 3'.

A state in which the glass 21 remains as molten glass 20 above it is shown. The one in FIG. 6B also has the same functions and effects as the one in FIG. 6A, which prevents leakage of molten metal and prevents (or delays) the formation of a solidified shell.

The mixed powder 16 is sent from the supply tank 26 via the cut-out device 27 to the pumping case 24, and is then fed by a hydraulic or pneumatic device 23. By operating the pressure-feeding plate 25 to the position indicated by 25' in the figure, the mixed powder 16 in the pressure-feeding case 24 is forced into the U-shaped groove 15 of the side dam 4' through the groove 14 of the guide 13 described above. .
