Abstract

PURPOSE:To always obtain accurate amount of spreading, by measuring the area of spread viscous fluid, accurately measuring the spread shape at the same time, accurately calculating the amount of discharge by using the above results, and feeding-back it to a controlling part. CONSTITUTION:Viscous fluid 10 spread on a plate material 5 is irradiated with slit light 11 having a constant inclination angle, by an illuminating apparatus 9, and at the same time, the slit images 12a, 12b are recognized from above by a camera 6. Points of inflection 12c are recognized on both end-portions of the slit image 12a of the viscous fluid 10. Further the height dimension of the viscous fluid 10 is obtained from the position deviation between the slit image 12a obtained by scanning and the slit image 12b on the plate material 12b. In this manner, the area of the viscous fluid spread on the plate material 5 and the height dimension at each position are detected, thereby calculating the amount of discharge of the viscous fluid 10. By feeding-back the obtained amount of discharge to a controlling part, the accurate amount of spreading can be obtained.

An example for keeping the discharge amount of viscous fluid constant is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. In FIG. 4, the X table 2, coating head 3, Y table 4, and plate material 5 are the same as in FIG. 3. Reference numeral 6 denotes a recognition unit, which comprises a recognition camera and a lens for measuring the volume S of the viscous fluid applied in parallel with the application head 3. As shown in the flowchart of FIG. 5, even when applying after a certain period of time, the viscous fluid is applied at the discard station 8, and after the Nth discard, the recognition unit 6 is used to calculate the coating area in step 21. After measuring and calculating the center position, move the sensor 7 there, use this to measure the coating height in step 22, calculate the discharge amount VN in the control section in step 23, and calculate the discharge amount ff1VN. After confirming that a certain amount of coating has been applied in step 24 or step 25 by comparing it with a preset discharge amount ff1Vt or calculating the difference V between the discharge amounts of consecutive coatings, coating starts, and the plate material 5 is ll1lI to do the application to? a, so a constant amount is always applied. In this way, coating is repeatedly performed at n stations until the discharge amount becomes stable.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the conventional example as described above, the area is first calculated, and the height of the viscous fluid discharged at the center position is detected. At this time, the shape of the viscous fluid applied to the plate material is, for example, a conical shape, and the discharge amount is calculated, but in reality, the shape of the application varies as shown in Figures 6 (a) to (d). It has a shape. In the example shown in FIG. 6, the coating area 63 and the coating height are all the same, but the discharge amounts are different, so it is impossible to calculate the exact discharge amount. Naturally, even if feedback is given to the above-mentioned 1lIIJt [1 part], it is impossible to accurately discharge an appropriate amount onto the plate material.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the viscous fluid application method of the present invention is realized by accurately calculating the discharge amount of the viscous fluid applied onto the plate material and feeding it back to the control unit. There is a first step of applying a viscous fluid onto the plate material, a second step of irradiating the applied viscous fluid with a slit light having a constant inclination angle from diagonally above, and a step of applying the applied viscous fluid and the slit. A third step of scanning the slit image on the viscous fluid from above by moving the light relative to it, a fourth step of recognizing the inflection point of the slit image, and a step of scanning the slit image on the applied viscous fluid and a reference. A fifth step of detecting the amount of positional displacement with respect to the slit image on the surface, a sixth step of calculating the height dimension of the viscous fluid based on this amount of displacement, and a step of calculating the height of the viscous fluid obtained in the fourth step and the sixth step, respectively. The method includes a seventh step of calculating the discharge amount of the applied viscous fluid from the surface W1 and height of the surface W1, and an eighth step of providing feedback to the control unit in order to keep the discharge amount constant.
