When the power switch was turned off, the operation of the receiving section and the decoder section was stopped. Since the control section is composed of a CMO3LSI, the power consumption is negligible even if battery voltage is supplied when the power is turned off.

。In the past, receiver owners were familiar with how to operate the receiver, so this rarely caused problems. However, when providing a service where selective call receivers are lent to customers waiting at banks, hospitals, etc., and displaying the meeting time, etc.,
Since the person carrying the receiver is not accustomed to operating the receiver, it is not desirable to be able to easily turn off the receiver.

The control section 4 exchanges a decoder control signal (■) with the decoder section 3 and outputs a display section control signal (■) to the message display section 6. Further, a stop control signal, which is a character string, is registered in advance in the control unit 4.

。In the case of a conventional radio selective call receiver, stopping the operation is similarly set by operating a switch, but the radio selective calling receiver of the present invention is not provided with a switch for stopping the operation. To stop the operation of the receiver, a calling signal based on the regulations is sent to the receiver, followed by a message instructing the receiver to stop the operation. The control section 4, which has received the signal to stop the operation, sets the other components of the receiver to the stopped state, and after bringing them into the stopped state, the control section 4 also stops itself.

In this intermittent reception state 21, by receiving a preamble signal 40 indicating information transmission,
A transition is made to a state 22 in which a synchronization signal 41 is received. When the synchronization signal reception wait state 22 is entered and the synchronization signal 4 is within the specified range,
1 is detected, the synchronization signal 41 and the address signal 44 receive only the time allocated to the group to which it belongs.
The process moves to a state 23 in which it waits for the reception of . Note that if the synchronization signal reception wait state 22 is entered and the synchronization signal 44 is not detected within the specification (time over), the state returns to the intermittent reception state 21 again. If synchronization occurs in the address reception waiting state, the state returns to the synchronization signal reception waiting state M22.
