For example, in the line that binds the main text of bankbooks, the head rotation speed has to be reduced from 400 rpm to 400 rpm.
This results in a problem of increased wear and quality deterioration due to failure of the sewing machine head or disturbance of the binding thread.

While the books are being thread-bound one after another, the passage of the subsequent book being conveyed on the line is detected upstream, and the operating speed of the head is switched depending on the interval between passes, and while the book continues to be operated, the book is being printed. The sewing machine is characterized in that thread binding is performed continuously without stopping the operation of the sewing machine.

Switching between operation at another speed and operation at another speed lower than that is repeated by comparing the detection signal interval with a set value, and as a result, the sewing machine is operated continuously.

A sequencer makes a comparison with the corresponding interval, and the sequencer outputs a switching signal corresponding to the comparison result to the controller, thereby switching the operating speed of the sewing machine.

速運転が行われる。In the apparatus configured in this manner (hereinafter, refer to FIGS. 1 and 2 together), the preceding text Wl conveyed on the processing line is thread-stitched by the sewing machine 1 built into the processing line. At this time, the sewing machine head 11 is operated at a predetermined constant speed to thread-stitch the text Wl, and the text detection sensor 3 detects passage of the front end of the text Wl that follows upstream. In this sensor, the signal is turned off when the trailing edge of the preceding text W+ passes, and this state continues until the leading edge of the following text reaches the detection position of the text detection sensor 3. Therefore, by signal processing the off time in the sequencer 41, the passing interval of the text W can be adjusted to the sewing machine head 11.
This can be connected to sensing whether or not the passing interval has become longer than that of driving at a predetermined constant speed. If the result exceeds a predetermined value, the sequencer 41 outputs a switching signal, the coil of the relay switch 42 is excited, the switch is switched, and the variable resistor 43 .
45 now acts as a series load resistance for the motor 12. Then, the sewing machine head 11 is switched from the initially set rotational speed of, for example, 4000 rpm to 230 Orpm, which is reduced by about 42%, and continues to operate, until the next main text Wt is stitched at that speed. This deceleration operation continues until the middle of the thread binding of the text Wl, and when it is sensed that the off time has become less than the set value by the detection of the leading edge of the text that follows, the relay switch 42 is switched to the opposite direction, and the motor 12 is initially The rotation speed is returned to the set rotation speed. In this way, in the apparatus of this embodiment, low speed operation is performed at a ratio of about one out of three.

The quality deterioration has been resolved. Additionally, the permissible range for setting the head speed is wider than that of conventional models, and operability is greatly improved.
