Abstract

PURPOSE:To make longer the interval of maintenance requiring filter replacement and contrive the reduction of the deformation of a filter accompanied by the rotation of a fan by shaping into a saw-toothed form the cross section of a filter cover for protecting a fan provided at the end face of an electronic machine. CONSTITUTION:The cross section of a filter cover 1 for protecting a fan provided at the end face of an electronic machine is shaped into a sawtoothed form. This filter cover 1 is manufactured by a method wherein two jigs 3 and 3', each having a plurality of projection parts 3a formed at predetermined intervals, are set facing each other with a plurality of the projecting parts 3a in engagement with one another and the two jigs 3 and 3' are pressed with the filter cover 1 interposed therebetween from the two sides thereof. As a result, the interval of the maintenance requiring filter replacement can be made as long as possible and the deformation of the filter accompanied by the rotation of the fan can also be reduced.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Summary] The present invention relates to a filter cover, particularly a filter cover that protects a fan provided on an end face of an electronic device, and which minimizes the maintenance period required for filter replacement and prevents the filter from rotating as the fan rotates. In order to reduce the deformation of the fan, the filter cover that protects the fan provided on the end face of the electronic device is configured so that its cross section has a sawtooth wave shape.

Furthermore, due to the characteristics of the sawtooth wave shape itself, specifically, the apex (or low point) of each equilateral triangle described above becomes an axis extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction of deformation due to rotation of the fan. Therefore, deformation of the filter due to rotation of the fan can be reduced.
