Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the existence of rubber with certainty irrespective of the size of diameter by moving an electrolytic capacitor in the prescribed direction with a pair of lead wires being held and making the case of the electrolytic capacitor pass through the moving path of capacitor while coming into contact with a friction plate which is provided in the vicinity of its moving path and then, detecting the rotation of the above case after providing rotation force to its case. CONSTITUTION:Generally each polarity indication mark 7 is attached at the outside surface of each electrolytic capacitor case (c) and the indication marks 7 are fitted for assembly so that they have constant directions with respect to a pair of lead wires (l). Once each case (c) passes between the friction plate 32 and a roller 36 and friction force generated between the case (c) and the friction plate 32 makes each electrolytic capacitor move right and left, rotation force acts clockwise on the case (c) and then, the case rotates in the same direction. As a result, each mark (m) which is observed at the back side of the forward direction moves to the upper side. When this mark (m) is detected by a detecting element 4, it is detected that the case (c) rotates. Then, the lack of rubber in this capacitor is detected.

(b) In the manufacturing process of conventional electrolytic capacitors, an element made of layered electrode foil and insulating paper is placed in a case, a sealing rubber is sealed in the opening of the case, and the open end of the case is closed. It is tightened to seal the inside. A pair of lead wires extending from the element pass through the sealing rubber. In such a manufacturing process, it is necessary to inspect whether the sealing rubber is properly inserted into the open end of the case.

However, for small capacitors with a small outer diameter (outer diameter of the case) of 3 mm to 5 mm, the opening (opening after caulking) of the case C of the finished capacitor a as shown in Figure 3 is The diameter of the lead wire and the spacing P between the roots become smaller, making visual inspection by humans difficult. In addition, centering accuracy is important for detection with a phototube, or maintaining high accuracy. There is a problem in that this is difficult and many misjudgments occur.

By the way, capacitor element e has case C and inner 11111
However, since the connection is through thin metal/metal foil, the capacitor element and lead wires are fixed to the case due to the frictional resistance between the case and the sealing rubber due to caulking at the open end of the case. 6. Therefore, if the sealing rubber is not attached, the case will easily move if the lead wire is held and the case is moved in the rotational direction.

(E) Effect In the above configuration, when the case comes into contact with the friction plate while the electrolytic capacitor is being transferred, a rotational force acts on the case due to friction. If no rubber is installed within the case, the case will easily rotate with respect to the leads and capacitor element. This rotation of the case is detected by a detection device.

In the above configuration, the electrolytic capacitor is transported by transporting the tape t in the direction of the arrow by the transporting device 2 while holding the lead wire on the tape t. There is usually a polarity mark 7 on the outside of the case C of an electrolytic capacitor.
m is attached, and the polarity display mark is assembled so that it is oriented in a fixed direction with respect to the pair of lead wires 1 (for example, in this embodiment, it corresponds to the arrangement direction of the pair of lead wires).

When the case C of the electrolytic capacitor passes between the friction plate 22 and the roller 26, the friction force between the case C and the friction plate 22 causes the electrolytic capacitor to move to the right as shown in FIG. A clockwise rotational force acts on C, and the case rotates in the same direction. Therefore, the mark 7m, which was on the rear side in the direction of travel, moves upward. This mark 7m is detected by the detection device 4 to detect that the case C has rotated and therefore that the rubber is not installed.

For electrolytic capacitors equipped with a rubber cap, the mark will not move because the case cannot be rotated low or low due to the rotational force caused by the friction between the case and the friction plate.
