Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a large-area and long element efficiently by clamping a power supply bus bar comprising a metal film between both a luminous base film and a transparent conductive film, and integrating the bus bar and the films with one another for obtaining a luminous body. CONSTITUTION:A luminous base film 1 comprises a luminous layer 3 laminated on a metal film 2 like an aluminum foil as a rear electrode, and openings 1a are arranged at suitable intervals on the film 1. This film 1 and a transparent conductive film 4 having a transparent conductive film 6 on a transparent film are passed between rollers 11 and 12 with the layer 3 and the film 6 kept opposite to each other, and thermocompression bonded, thereby integrating the films 1 and 4 with each other. Concurrently, a bus bar 7 formed with a metal film is so clamped as to correspond to the positions of the openings 1a between the film 1 and 4, and a luminous body 8 is thereby formed. Thereafter, the luminous body 8 is cut into the sections of the predetermined length, and a moisture proof film 9 is thermally deposited thereon for completing elements. According to the aforesaid construction, a large area and long element can be efficiently obtained.

[Prior Art] A conventional EL element 20 has a light-emitting layer 22 made of an insulating layer and a phosphor on one surface of a back electrode (for example, aluminum foil) 21, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, for example. The laminated product is formed as a light-emitting base 23, and the light-emitting base 23 and a transparent conductive film 25 in which a predetermined pattern of buspers 24 are formed by printing conductive paint are laminated, and then packaged with a moisture-proof film 26 to complete the process. It is something. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, when the busper 24 is formed of conductive paint in this way, the conductivity is 2 to 3 lower than that of metal materials.
Because of the low size, it is necessary to increase the width or thickness of the bus spar 24 in order to increase the size, which causes problems such as a reduction in the effective area and an increase in the number of steps. In addition, since screen printing or the like is used to form the buspar 24, the size of the EL element 20 is ultimately restricted by the size of the printing machine, which also causes the problem that the light emitting base 23 cannot be used as a finished product. When manufacturing EL elements 20 of multiple sizes, multiple items will be mixed on the production line, and production efficiency will decrease due to congestion in management of jigs and production plans. Problems arose, and the solution to these problems became an issue.

Next, the present invention will be explained in detail based on embodiments shown in the drawings. The reference numeral 1 in FIG. 1 is a light-emitting base film 1, in which a light-emitting layer 3 made of an insulating layer and a phosphor is laminated on a long metal film 2, such as aluminum foil, which is used as a back electrode. In addition, openings 1a are provided at appropriate intervals on one end side in the longitudinal direction of the light emitting base film 1 according to the present invention. What is shown in FIG. 2 is a transparent conductive film 4, which is formed by providing a transparent and conductive ITO film 6 on a transparent PET film 5, for example. The light-emitting base film 1 and the transparent conductive film 4, each formed as described above, are each wound into a roll, and as shown in FIG. 3, the light-emitting layer 3 of the light-emitting base film 1 and the The transparent conductive film 4 is placed facing the ITO film 6 so that it is in contact with the ITO film 6, and is passed between a pair of rollers 11.12, and bonded under heat and pressure to integrate both films 1.4. A busper 7 formed of a metal film such as copper, phosphor bronze, or aluminum is sandwiched between the films 1.4 and corresponding to the position where the opening 1a is provided. What is formed by going through the steps described above is the light emitting body 8 shown in FIG. , only the portion of the opening 1a is exposed from the opening 1a. The light emitting body 8 formed as described above is cut to a required length, and as shown in FIG. 5, it is packaged by heat welding a moisture-proof film 9 on both sides to complete the EL element. The light emitting body 8 is cut so that at least one part of the opening 1a is included. Therefore, since the light emitting body 8 after being cut has at least one position where the buspar 7 is exposed, the power supply terminal 7a connected to the side of the transparent conductive film 4 is connected to the buspar 7. It is only necessary to connect the above-mentioned exposed portion of No. 7, and installation is extremely easy. Incidentally, the metal film 2 on the light emitting base film 1 side is naturally provided with a back terminal 2a, but the structure of the back terminal 2a may be exactly the same as that provided in a conventional EL element. Therefore, detailed explanation will be omitted here. By using the manufacturing method described above, firstly, the light emitting body 8 can be cut to any length as long as it is longer than the distance between the openings 1a, and can be cut into any length from small to large. In addition, by providing the opening 1a, an exposed portion is created in the buspar 7, making it extremely easy to connect the power supply terminal 7a.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a power supply bus bar made of a metal film is sandwiched between the light emitting base film and the transparent conductive film to form a light emitting body. It makes it possible to dramatically lower the conductivity of the bus bar, and has the excellent effect of making it possible to manufacture large-area, especially long EL elements, which was previously impossible. By providing openings in the light emitting base film at predetermined intervals and exposing them from the power supply bus bar, the elongated light emitting body formed by the above manufacturing method can be cut to produce a smaller EL element. The present invention facilitates the installation of a power supply terminal when manufacturing, and enables the production of EL elements of any size using the elongated light emitting body, which has an outstanding effect on improving production efficiency and reducing costs of EL elements. It is.
