Generally, this type of sewing machine moves at a constant speed relative to the fabric, so it is equipped with a so-called needle feed mechanism that feeds the suture needle that has passed through the fabric in the same direction as the sewing direction, that is, the sewing direction. In addition, since the sewing machine itself moves against a fixed cloth, it is not possible to press the cloth with a strong pressing force with the presser foot like in a normal lockstitch sewing machine, so as shown in Fig. 5, The presser member 1 is
It is held close to the upper surface of the cloth 2.

Although it is now possible to prevent
For the purpose of suppressing flapping of the cloth 2, the cloth presser member 1 cannot be separated too far from the upper surface of the cloth 2, and is kept at a constant height close enough to avoid contact with the cloth surface. For this reason, for example, if the cloth 2 to be sewn has a split part 2a as shown in FIG. There was an inconvenience in that one piece of 2a was turned over and overlapped with the other piece, and was sewn in that state.

This makes it even more likely that it will get caught in the presser member.

A presser foot member having an extending inclined portion moves in the vertical direction and along the sewing direction in synchronization with the needle bar, and a lower end portion of the presser foot member moves forward in the sewing direction with respect to the sloped portion of the presser foot member. It is equipped with an intermittent pressing member.

Send it to the department. As a result, the split portion is guided to the pressing portion of the cloth pressing member along the inclined portion without rising upward. Therefore, the presser foot member does not get caught in the split part,
It can pass over the split part smoothly.

Further, a pressing spring 24 is interposed between the connecting member 22 and the presser foot member 23 (see FIG. 3), so that the presser portion 23a of the presser foot member 23 is always held horizontally. ing. Furthermore, 25 is a potentiometer for detecting the vertical position of the presser bar 18, and its operating portion 25a is always pressed against the upper surface of a presser bar holder 26 fixed to the presser bar 18. In addition, 27 is the needle plate of the movable sewing machine, 28
is a cylindrical sewing machine bed to which the throat plate 27 is fixed.

In this case, since the upper surface of the body material w1 is curved along the curve of the shoulder region, the split portion wa formed in this shoulder region is formed on the body material material w1 as shown in FIG.
It is in a state where it stands out greatly from the top surface.

Of course, at this time, the cloth presser member 23, the suture needle 8, and the intermittent presser member 13 are in the raised position. Thereafter, the motor 17 is driven to lower the presser bar 18 via the coupling ring 19. The position of the presser bar 18 is detected by the potentiometer 25, and when the presser foot member 23 reaches an appropriate position according to the thickness of the body material w1, the drive of the motor 17 is stopped and the presser foot member 23 The position of is fixed. In addition, the appropriate position according to the thickness of the body material w1 referred to here means the body material w1.
This refers to the position where the cloth does not come in contact with 1 and prevents the fabric from flapping.

Sewing operation starts. When the upper shaft is rotated by the driving of the sewing machine motor, the swing shaft 11 swings via an eccentric cam (not shown) provided on the upper shaft, and the swing arm 9 swings. The swing of the swing arm 9 is transmitted to the needle bar stand 5 via the link 10, the needle bar stand 5 swings about the support shaft 6, and the needle bar 7 also swings together. At the same time, the needle bar 7 also performs a well-known vertical movement by rotating the upper shaft. Therefore, the movable sewing machine 3 forms stitches while causing the suture needle 8 to perform a combined motion of rocking and vertical motion along the sewing direction A, that is, an elliptical motion. Therefore, even if the movable sewing machine 3 moves, the relative position between the body material w1 and the suture needle 8 passing through it remains constant, and the body material w1 is pulled by the suture needle 8 in the direction of movement of the movable sewing machine 3. You won't be disappointed. On the other hand, when the needle bar 7 moves up and down, the protruding pin 16a provided on the needle bar holder 16 moves up and down, and the cam plate 14 rotates about the support shaft 15. When the cam plate 14 rotates, the sliding member 12 slides along the needle bar 7 via the protruding pin 12a.
As a result, the intermittent presser member 13 provided at the lower end of the sliding member 12 synchronizes the synthetic movement of the sliding movement of the sliding member 12 and the swinging motion of the needle bar 7, that is, the elliptical movement, with the suture needle 8. Let's do it. Therefore, the intermittent presser member 13
intermittently presses the body material w1, and moves in the same direction as the movement direction (sewing direction) of the movable sewing machine 3 while pressing it. Therefore, even if the intermittent presser member 13 presses down the body fabric w1, the body fabric w1 is not pulled in the sewing direction A, and no fabric shift occurs. Further, when the sewing operation progresses and the movable sewing machine 3 reaches the split part wa, the split part wa is first pushed down by the intermittent presser member 13, and is pressed downward by the cloth presser member 23 located at the rear. It is guided to the inclined part 23b and further inserted between the pressing part 23a and the body material w1 along the inclined part 23b.
Therefore, both pieces of the split part wa are sutured in a proper state where they are left and right open. Note that if a stepped portion is formed in the body material w1 due to the split portion wa etc., it seems that the cloth presser member 23 which is close to the body material w1 will be caught on this stepped portion. Since the presser member 23 can be retracted upward against the pusher spring 24, it can smoothly get over the step.
The sewing operation is not hindered by the stepped portion.
