However, recently, Al alloy composite materials have been developed that have improved physical properties such as strength, rigidity, heat resistance, and abrasion resistance by dispersing fine ceramic particles as reinforcing materials in Al alloys. Expansion is expected.

In producing l-alloy composite materials, ceramic particles are introduced into the molten metal while mechanically convecting Al or Al alloy molten metal, and shearing force is applied to the molten metal during the convection to cause wetting of the particles and the molten metal. This is a method for producing an Al or Al alloy composite material, the key point of which is improving the properties and uniformly mixing the material.

The wettability between the molten metal and ceramic particles can be improved, and the Al alloy can be made by directly mixing the ceramic particles into the molten metal without performing the conventional plating treatment on the particle surface or changing the Al alloy composition. A composite material could be manufactured. That is, by applying a strong shearing force to the molten metal, the collision force of the molten metal against the cera main ivy particles was increased, thereby increasing the wettability between the ceramic particles and the molten metal.

After the melting and holding is completed, the cylindrical partition wall 2 held by the partition wall holder 5 is inserted into the crucible 1, and a propeller 4 is installed to apply propulsive force to the molten metal 11 to cause convection, and a shear is applied to the convecting molten metal. A stirring shaft 6 equipped with a rotor 3 for applying force was inserted into the partition wall 2. The stirring shaft 6 was connected to a stirrer (not shown) outside the furnace, and was configured to rotate within a range of 10 to 1500 rpm. Further, the propeller 4 and the rotor 3 are both located between the lower end of the partition wall 2 and the lower end of the corresponding through hole 10 for introducing the molten metal into the partition wall 2, and the insertion depth of the stirring shaft 6 is It was set.

The speed was increased and the propulsive force given to the molten metal 11 was increased. However, if the rotation speed is increased too much, a vortex will be formed between the molten metal 11 and the stirring shaft 6, causing the molten metal 11 to
Since the atmosphere may be drawn into the mixer, it is necessary to gradually increase the rotational speed of the stirring shaft 6 depending on the amount of particles added.

The air that has been somewhat trapped in the molten metal 11 along with the C particles is removed from the system, while the particles trapped in the molten metal 11 repeat convection within the crucible 1, causing the rotor 3 and the partition wall 2 to flow together. The molten metal 11 is uniformly dispersed within the molten metal 11 by receiving a shearing force therebetween.
