A typical wiper device has a holder pivotally attached to an arm that swings back and forth by a drive device, and is configured to hold a backing to which a blade rubber that contacts the surface of the window glass is attached to the holder. The blade rubber of such a conventional device is set so that the contact pressure against the window glass surface in a stationary state is evenly distributed over the length of the blade rubber.

However, when the wiper device is in operation, the blade rubber rotates back and forth in a fan-shaped trajectory on the windshield surface, so there is a difference in rotational speed between the tip and rear end of the blade rubber. While the vehicle is running, the wind conditions at the tip and rear end of the blade rubber are different. For this reason, when the wiper device is operated while driving at high speed, the contact pressure of the blade rubber in contact with the windshield surface is not uniform, and depending on the shape of the windshield, the contact pressure at the tip of the blade rubber is uneven. The pressure tends to be weaker than that at the rear end. In order to solve this problem, it is possible to move the pivot point between the tip of the arm and the lever closer to the tip of the lever, but this is not effective enough and also forces the arm toward the windshield. It is conceivable to strengthen the elastic force of the spring that generates the lift, or to attach fins to the arm that generate reverse lift, but these disadvantages include larger parts, a more complicated structure, and the need for additional members.

The present invention was developed in view of the above-mentioned problems of conventional wiper devices, and the contact pressure of the blade rubber against the windshield surface is approximately equal across the length of the blade rubber even when driving at high speed. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wiper device for a vehicle.

In order to achieve this purpose, the wiper device according to the present invention includes a tip-side holder and a rear-end holder, each having a plurality of holding claws for holding the front and rear ends of a backing to which a blade rubber that contacts the windshield surface is attached. At the same time, this holder was supported by a lever, and this lever was pivotally connected to the tip of an arm biased toward the window glass.
This pivot point is located forward of the center of the blade rubber. Then, the sum of the spacing between the holding claws of the tip side holder is made shorter than the sum of the spacing between the holding claws of the rear end side holder, and the contact pressure per unit length of the tip side of the blade rubber acting on the window glass surface is reduced. The gist is that the spacing between the holding claws on the tip side is shorter than on the rear end side in order to make the contact pressure higher than the contact pressure per unit length on the rear end side of the rubber and prevent the tip side from lifting up during high-speed running. .

FIG. 2 is a side view showing the wiper device having the above configuration pressed against the window glass 20;
Figure 3 is a graph showing the contact pressure (pressing force) of the blade rubber 18 against the windshield 20 when the vehicle is stationary and the wiper device is inactive, in correspondence with Figure 2, and Figure 4 is a graph showing the contact pressure (pressing force) of the blade rubber 18 against the windshield 20 when the vehicle is stationary and the wiper device is inactive. This is a graph showing the contact pressure of the blade rubber 18 against the windshield 20 when the wiper device is in operation, in correspondence with FIG. Since the arm is attached to the arm, the pressing force transmitted from the arm is evenly distributed between the leading end and the rear end. A first holding fitting 5 on the tip side is attached to the tip of the lever 2, a first holding fitting 7 on the rear end side is attached to the rear end, and a first holding fitting 7 on the tip side is attached to the rear end of the first holding fitting 5 on the tip side. Since the second holding fitting 9 on the distal side and the second holding fitting 14 on the rear end side are pivotally attached to the distal end of the first holding fitting 7 on the rear end side, respectively,
Even if the window glass 20 is curved as shown in FIG. 2, the blade rubber 18 contacts the surface of the window glass 20 without any gaps. Furthermore, in the stationary and non-operating state, the pressing force evenly distributed on the lever 2 is applied to the holding fittings 5, 9 on the front end side and the holding fittings 7, 1 on the rear end side via the pins 4, 6, respectively.
4, and is transmitted to the blade rubber 18 via the holding claws of these holding fittings. Then, the pressing force distributed to the tip side acts as a force to press the blade rubber 18 by the length of the interval (l 1 + l 2 ) between the holding claws 8 and 12 against the surface of the window glass 20, and the pressing force is applied to the rear end side. The dispersed pressing force acts as a force that presses the blade rubber 18 for the length of the interval (l 3 +l 4 ) between the holding claws 13 and 16 against the surface of the window glass 20. As mentioned above, since l 1 +l 2 <l 3 +l 4 , the pressing force acting per unit length of the blade rubber 18 on the tip side is equal to the pressing force on the blade rubber 18 on the rear end side.
The distribution of the pressing force of the blade rubber 18 against the window glass 20, that is, the contact pressure, is as shown in FIG.

On the other hand, in the running state, the blade rubber 18 reciprocates in a fan-shaped trajectory, so the rotation speed on the tip side of the blade rubber 18 is faster than the rotation speed on the rear end side of the blade rubber 18. Therefore, while driving, a large lift force acts on the tip side of the blade rubber 18 due to wind pressure, and the contact pressure of the tip side of the blade rubber 18 against the windshield 20 decreases, resulting in a change in the contact pressure distribution of the entire blade rubber 18. are equalized as shown in FIG.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the holding fitting that holds the blade rubber through buckling is divided into the tip side and the rear end side, and the sum of the spacing of the holding claws of the holding fitting on the tip side is determined by the holding fitting on the rear end side. This is made smaller than the sum of the spacing between the retaining claws of the metal fittings, and when the wiper device is stationary and inactive, the contact pressure on the tip side of the blade rubber is greater than the contact pressure on the rear end side, so it can be used while driving at high speeds. When the wiper is operated and a large lifting force is applied to the tip of the blade rubber, the windshield can be wiped with even contact pressure. According to the present invention, many effects such as the above-mentioned effects can be achieved without adding special members such as fins to the wiper.
