[Industrial Application Field] The present invention has high strength, excellent conductivity, spring properties, thermal creep properties, and mold wear resistance, and is particularly suitable for use as terminals and connectors that require these properties. Demonstrates excellent performance when
It concerns Cu alloys. [Conventional technology] Conventionally, brass, red copper, and Cu-Zn alloys such as Cu-approximately 5% Zn alloys have been used to manufacture terminals and connectors that are incorporated into electrical parts such as electronic and electrical equipment and automobiles. alloys are used. On the other hand, in recent years, there has been an increasing demand for the electrical components to be smaller and lighter, as well as for higher-density packaging, and along with this, terminals and connectors are also required to be smaller and lighter. [Problems to be solved by the invention] However, among the conventional Cu-Zn alloys mentioned above, Cu
- Approximately 5% Zn alloy has excellent conductivity, so
Although it is useful when used in environments where electrical parts have large currents and generate heat, metals, including brass and red copper, do not have sufficient strength and springiness, and also have poor thermal creep properties at elevated temperatures. Due to the drawbacks, it is not possible to achieve satisfactory miniaturization and weight reduction for terminals and connectors, and the molds are worn relatively quickly during punching press processing for terminals and connectors, especially when the dimensions are small or high. When precision is required, there are problems such as a shortened mold life. [Means for Solving the Problems] Therefore, from the above-mentioned viewpoint, the present inventors conducted research from the viewpoint of materials in order to make terminals and connectors smaller and lighter. %
(hereinafter % indicates weight %), contains Zn: 1.5-5%, Ni: 0.3-1%, Si: 0.03-0.3%, Ca: 0.001-0.05%, and the rest is Cu and unavoidable impurities. A Cu alloy with a composition of
We have learned that when used as a connector, it can be made smaller and lighter, and the useful life of the mold used in the punching press process performed in the manufacturing process can be extended. be. This invention was made based on the above knowledge, and the reason why the component composition was limited as described above will be explained below. (a) Zn The Zn component improves castability and contributes to the soundness of the ingot, and is dissolved in the base material to improve strength without impairing the excellent conductivity provided by Cu. However, if the content is less than 1.5%, the desired effect cannot be obtained, while if the content exceeds 5%,
Since solderability decreases and susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking increases, its content is set at 1.5 to 5%. (b) Ni and Si Both of these components are partially dissolved in the base material, but
Most of them combine with each other to form compounds, which have the effect of further improving strength, raising the softening temperature, and improving thermal creep properties without impairing conductivity. If Ni: less than 0.3% and Si: less than 0.03%, the desired effect of improving the above action cannot be obtained, while if the content exceeds Ni: 1% and Si: 0.3%, the conductivity will decrease. Therefore,
The content is Ni: 0.3 to 1%, Si:
It was set at 0.03-0.3%. (c) Ca Ca component has the effect of improving spring properties, thermal creep properties, and mold wear resistance, but
If the content is less than 0.001%, the desired effect cannot be obtained, while if the content exceeds 0.05%, cold workability will decrease, so the content should be reduced from 0.001 to 0.05%. It was determined that [Example] Next, the Cu alloy of the present invention will be specifically explained with reference to Examples. Using an ordinary low-frequency groove-type melting furnace, Cu alloys shown in Table 1 were melted in the atmosphere and under charcoal coating, and then semi-continuously cast to a thickness of 160 mm x width:
An ingot with dimensions of 450mm x length: 2400mm,
Next, this ingot was hot-rolled at a predetermined temperature within the range of 800 to 900℃ to form a hot-rolled plate with a thickness of 10 mm, which was water-cooled, face milled, and then cold-rolled and annealed under normal conditions. The process is repeated to obtain a strip with a thickness of 0.3 mm at a finishing rolling rate of 75%.
Cu alloy strips 1 to 5 of the present invention and comparative Cu alloy strips 1 to 3 were manufactured by annealing under the condition of holding at a predetermined temperature within the range of 0.degree. C. for 1 hour. Note that all of the comparative Cu alloy strips 1 to 3 have compositions that do not contain at least one of the constituent components. Next, regarding the resulting Cu alloy strips 1 to 5 of the present invention and comparative Cu alloy strips 1 to 3,
Measuring tensile strength and elongation for the purpose of evaluating strength, and also for evaluating conductivity and springiness.
Measure electrical conductivity (%IACS) and spring limit values,
Furthermore, in order to evaluate the thermal creep properties, the stress relaxation rate after stress application and heating was measured, and the mold wear resistance was also evaluated. The spring limit value was measured by a moment test according to JIS/H3130. In addition, the stress relaxation rate is width: 12.7mm x length:

From the results shown in Table 1, Cu alloy strips 1 to 5 of the present invention all have high strength with a tensile strength of 50 Kgf/mm 2 or more, excellent spring properties with a spring limit of 30 Kgf/mm 2 or more, and Electrical conductivity: It has high electrical conductivity of 40% IACS or higher, and also has excellent thermal creep properties and mold wear resistance, whereas a comparison that does not contain at least one of the constituent components
Cu alloy strips 1 to 3 are inferior in at least one of the above properties, and in particular, comparative Cu alloy strip 1, which corresponds to the conventional Cu alloy, has all other properties except conductivity. It is clear that the results are inferior to Cu alloy strips 1 to 5 of the present invention. As mentioned above, the Cu alloy of the present invention has high strength as well as excellent conductivity, spring properties, and thermal creep properties, so it is suitable for manufacturing terminals and connectors that require miniaturization and weight reduction. It can be used for a long time, and it also has excellent mold wear resistance, so it has industrially useful properties, such as reducing the wear of molds used in punching press processing and enabling long-term use. It has.
