Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance a case in shielding effect by increasing contact points in number without increasing screws in number by a method wherein a metal member is actively electrically connected to another metal member to which it is brought into close contact taking advantage of burrs induced on the fractured face of the metal member concerned at a press processing. CONSTITUTION:A circuit board 2 is shielded by a case composed of a chassis 1, a cover 3, and others so as to prevent electromagnetic noises from the operating circuit board 2 mounted on a chassis 1 from being transmitted outside. Extra holes 5 other than the tapped holes are provided to the chassis 1. The extra hole 5 is arranged between screws 41 and 42, whereby electrical contact points can be increased in number. By this constitution, screws 4 can be lessened in number keeping the electrical contact points unchanged in number and an assembly operation can be decreased in man-hours.

Next, the shielding effect of the casing with the above configuration against electromagnetic noise and the like will be explained. When the circuit board (2) mounted on the chassis (1) operates, it generates electromagnetic noise. In order to prevent this from being emitted to the outside, it is effective to shield it with a cover (3). . Electrical contact between the chassis (1) and cover (3) is key to increasing the shielding effect. Therefore, the shielding effect is achieved by narrowing the interval between the screws (4) (usually 50 mm pitch) and increasing the number of screws installed to increase the number of electrical contact points. In other words, this figure shows that by increasing the number of screws, the circuit board (2) inside the electronic device can be
This prevents electromagnetic interference noise or electrostatic noise generated from leaking to the outside, as well as preventing electromagnetic noise or electrostatic noise from entering from the outside.

In the conventional example, the number of screws (4) was increased in order to increase electrical contact, but in the present invention, in addition to the screw holes, a waste hole (5) is provided. Stable electrical contact can be obtained by pressing the hole (5) from the direction in which burrs appear on the mating component side. As shown in Figure 2, screws (41
) and the screw (42) by placing a sacrificial hole (5) to increase the electrical contact points. In this embodiment, one hole (5) is provided between the screw (41) and the screw (42), but the present invention is not limited to this, and a plurality of holes (5) may be arranged. Needless to say, it's a good thing. With this configuration, the number of screws (4) can be reduced while maintaining the same number of points for maintaining electrical contact, thereby reducing the number of assembly steps.
