Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject conjugate fiber composed of a polyester component and a polyamide component joined with each other in a state to expose both components on the surface of the fiber, having excellent productivity and useful for woven or knit fabric by using a specific polyamide as the polyamide component. CONSTITUTION:The objective conjugate fiber is composed of a polyester component (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) and a polyamide component (e.g. nylon 6) joined with each other at a weight ratio of preferably 20/80 to 80/20 in a state to expose both components on the surface of the fiber. The polyamide component used in the above fiber contains 10-1,000ppm (in terms of metal, based on the polyamide) of one or more kinds of compounds selected from magnesium compounds, aluminum compounds and cobalt compounds (e.g. acetate or chloride).

For example, in Japanese Patent Publication No. 63-53292,
A method for manufacturing 1111-type conjugate fiber, which consists of the cross section shown in the figure, has been proposed, and it is said that fine-grained yarn and yarn with a special cross-sectional shape can be obtained. Further, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 62-53409 proposes a composite irregular cross-section fiber having a cross section shown in FIG. 7, which has high color development, elegant luster, and good texture. As crimped composite fibers, Japanese Patent Publication No. 63-44843, Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 5
Publication No. 7-5911 and the like have also been proposed.

The production of composite fibers consisting of two components, polyester and polyamide, has the disadvantage that the spinnability is much worse than when spinning polymer ester alone or when spinning polyamide alone. That is, within a short time after the start of melt spinning, blackish brown foreign matter is deposited around the spinning hole, which induces bending of the discharged yarn, and eventually the spinning itself becomes impossible.

In order to overcome this drawback, conventional methods have been used to improve mold release properties compared to polymer flow spinnerets. Various methods have been tried, such as examining the shape, but their effects cannot necessarily be said to be sufficient.

However, the polyester proposed in JP-A-1-139816 has an expensive catalyst compound, and although it is effective in suppressing foreign matter around the spinning holes caused by polyester, the main component of the foreign matter generated around the spinning holes is It does not have the same effect on reducing thermal decomposition products of polyamide.

(Means for Solving the Problem) As a result of intensive studies on foreign matter around the spinning hole during composite melt spinning of polyester and polyamide, the present inventors found that There is a close relationship between the two, and if the amount of foreign matter around the spinning hole is reduced, bending will not occur and stable spinning can be achieved for a long time.Furthermore, foreign matter around the spinning hole can be reduced by oozing out of thermal decomposition products when polyamide is melted. I discovered that. Furthermore, based on these findings, the present inventors continued intensive research and found that when a composite fiber with polyester is spun using polyamide containing specific amounts of magnesium compounds, aluminum compounds, and cobalt compounds, The present invention was achieved based on the discovery that the generation of foreign matter around the holes is extremely small and that spinning can be carried out stably for a long period of time without bending of the discharged yarn.

In particular, polyethylene terephthalate or polytetramethylene terephthalate produced from dimethyl terephthalate and ethylene glycol or tetramethylene glycol is preferred. If desired, up to about 15 mol % of other glycols or other esters or oxycarboxylic acids may be added to the reaction mixture during the preparation of the polyester.
For example, the acid component is one selected from dibasic acids or oxyacids such as 3,5-dicarboxybenzenesulfonic acid, adipic acid, sebacic acid, isophthalic acid, diphenylsulfonedicarboxylic acid, naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, and oxybenzoic acid. Or two or more types, as glycol components,
For example, it is one or more compounds selected from trimethylene glycol, propylene glycol, cyclohexane dimetatool, neopentyl glycol, and the like. Of course, the above copolyester may be mixed with other polyesters within 85 mol% of polymethylene terephthalate units.

Although the details of the action of magnesium compounds, aluminum compounds, and balt compounds are unknown, they form ionic bonds and complexes with the amino end groups of polyamide, and suppress the deammonia reaction and virol ring formation reaction caused by the amino end groups. It is estimated that this reduces the amount of foreign matter around the spinning holes. One of magnesium, aluminum, and cobalt
If the concentration of one or more metal components is less than 10 ppi, the amount of amine terminal groups blocked will be insufficient, and the effect of reducing foreign substances around the spinning hole will be small.
I) If it is higher than I, the melt viscosity of the polyamide becomes too high, resulting in a lack of spinning stability and poor bondability with polyester, which is not preferable. In the present invention, 40 to 10
More preferably, the metal content is 0 ppl'l.

Examples of the cross-sectional shapes of the composite fibers obtained by the method of the present invention include those shown in FIGS. 1 to 8. The effects of the present invention are significant when the cross-sectional shape is as shown in this example. That is, it is a composite fiber in which a polyester component and a polyamide component are bonded together, and both components are exposed on the fiber surface. When the polyamide component is not exposed, there are fewer blackish brown foreign substances around the spinning holes.
It is preferable to use the polyamide of the present invention, but the effect is not remarkable. On the other hand, in cases where the polyester component is not exposed, it is preferable to use the polyamide of the present invention, but the The purpose can be achieved even if the means are used. However, if both the polyester and polyamide components are exposed, steam sealing around the spinning hole is not preferable because it will cause a decrease in the strength and elongation of the composite fiber due to hydrolysis of the polyester. In such hollow composite fibers, the hollowness ratio decreases, which has a negative effect on the splitting property and machinability in subsequent processing. This is particularly evident in
