(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, when the object to be sterilized contains solid substances in addition to liquids or viscous substances, solid substances are easier to heat with microwaves than liquids or viscous substances. When heated to the sterilization temperature of liquids and viscous substances, the denaturation of these solid substances was sometimes significant.

(Function) A solid substance according to the present invention is easily heated by microwave irradiation, and a liquid or a viscous substance is easily heated by a heat exchange type preheating device. Therefore, by preheating and microwave irradiation, both of them reach approximately the same temperature, are introduced into the holding part, and are maintained at a high temperature for the time required for sterilization.

The microwave heating device (6) heats preheated liquid or viscous material and solid material to the temperature required for sterilization. The solid material is heated to a lower temperature than the liquid or viscous material by heating in the pre-sterilization device (5), but because of the high heating efficiency of microwaves, the temperature rises at a higher rate than the liquid or viscous material. Holding Department (1)
The solid and liquid or viscous materials reach approximately the same temperature at the inlet of the tube.

In terms of thermal efficiency, it is preferable that the heat medium such as heated steam or hot water be passed in the opposite direction to the direction of transfer of the object to be sterilized, that is, from the microwave sterilizer (6) side toward the entrance of the pipe.

The microwave heating device (6) sterilizes the object (1) by irradiating it with microwaves from outside the pipe and utilizing the heat generated by the object (1) itself. Temperature of liquid or viscous substance is 120~
It is sufficient to irradiate at 140°C, although the same applies even if the temperature of the solid material is used as a reference. Both are almost the same.
This is because the temperature is reached. -Finally, 2.45 GHz microwaves with an output of 1.3 Kw should be irradiated for 30 to 90 seconds.

As shown in Figure 1, the object to be sterilized (1) that has been heat sterilized in the holding section (7) passes through the cooling section (8) and is preferably taken out as a liquid heated to 120°C or higher. Alternatively, this is to prevent the viscous material from expanding due to sudden discharge under normal pressure.
