A series of processing operations such as measuring the wire, cutting it, removing the terminal sheathing, and crimping the terminal must be performed for each of the many wires with terminals, and for this purpose, more than 100 wires with terminals are automatically processed every minute. The series of processing operations described above were carried out using equipment capable of manufacturing wires, but some of the many terminals were defective because they were not securely crimped to the end of the wire, which could lead to poor continuity accidents. was happening. For this reason, it is necessary to inspect the crimp condition of all terminals, but in the past, there was no appropriate means that could automatically and quickly inspect the crimp condition of a large number of terminals. All wiring terminals were visually inspected. However, with this conventional visual inspection method, inspection reliability is low, it takes time, and the continuous terminal crimping equipment must be temporarily stopped, making it impossible to fully utilize the manufacturing capacity of the equipment. In addition, since a large number of terminals are inspected at once, many products with poor crimping are produced before the terminals are assembled.

The terminal T is placed on this terminal crimping base 3 and is crimped onto the wire end portion by the terminal crimping die 4 of the applicator 2. This terminal crimping die pressing part 4 is moved up and down by a toggle device 5 in the press part 1 and pressed down to crimp the terminal T.

The other end of the upper link 51 is pivoted to a fixed part 57.
8, the other end of the lower link 52 is pivotally supported by a ram 6 at a pivot point 59, and when the ram 6 descends, it pushes down the terminal crimping mold pusher 4.

When the arm 72 moves up and down together with the applicator 2, the terminal distribution lever 7 swings left and right by the drive groove 73 into which the arm tip is fitted, and the tip of the rod 74 at the lower end moves left and right. Thus, the terminals are distributed one by one onto the terminal crimping table 3 from the continuous terminal TC in which a large number of terminals are connected in a strip-like manner.

When the pivot points 54 of 1 and 52 are pushed with the toggle 53, as both links 51 and 52 approach a straight line, a force P is generated in the length direction of the link, that is, a force P pushing vertically along the length direction of the link. becomes larger. Assuming that the lengths of both links 51 and 52 are equal, the angle between the vertical line and the link is Θ, and the pushing force of the toggle 55 is F, then P=F/2tanΘ, and this force P is This is the force that causes the terminal crimping mold press part 4 to crimp the terminal T on the terminal crimping base 3 due to the downward movement of equal.

For this reason, the fixing part 57 is provided with a device 8 for detecting the terminal crimping force, such as a pressure transducer such as a load cell, and the fixing part 57 is attached to the press frame 9 via this. The terminal crimping force detecting device 8 is provided with a suitable display means 10, such as a meter or a device that emits a notification sound or the like at a predetermined limit value.

It is desirable to grip the terminal securely and crimp the terminal well, but if part of the core wire W1 protrudes as shown in Figure B, or if the core wire gripping part T1 or the covering gripping part T2 as shown in Figure C. The product may be supplied with improper processing, or it may end up in a poor crimped state, as shown in Figure D, where a telephone terminal part whose coating has not yet been removed is gripped.

In the case shown in the figure, the crimping force is small, and in the case of figures C and D, the crimping force is large, so the output of the terminal crimping force detection device 8 that detects the crimping force also differs from that in a good crimping state. It will be different. Therefore, the terminal crimp force detection device 8 that detects this inappropriate terminal crimp force will immediately display or issue an alarm.
This makes it possible to determine whether the terminal crimping condition is good or bad. The output of the terminal crimping force detection device 8 is input to the operation control system of the automatic terminal crimping device, so that when a defective crimping condition is detected, the operation of the automatic terminal crimping device is immediately stopped and the terminal with the defective crimping is removed. Avoid continuous losses.

A terminal crimping force detection device 8' may be installed on the terminal crimping base 3 on which the terminal T is placed to detect the pressing force that the terminal crimping base 3 receives when the terminal T is crimped.

の信頼性を著しく高めることができる。(Effects of the Invention) As described above, the present invention includes a terminal crimping force detection device that detects the crimping force when a terminal is crimped to the end portion of a wire placed on a terminal crimping stand, and thereby detects the crimping force. This makes it possible to determine whether the terminal crimping condition is good or not at the same time as the terminal is crimped, and therefore, inspection can be performed extremely quickly, greatly improving the operating rate of automatic terminal crimping equipment compared to conventional methods. In addition, the reliability of testing the crimped state can be significantly improved.

るものである。 Furthermore, when the terminal crimping force detection device 8 detects a defective terminal crimping condition, the operation of the automatic terminal crimping device can be immediately stopped, which eliminates the need to continuously produce a large number of terminals with poor crimping as in the conventional method. This makes it possible to prevent such huge losses from occurring.
