In conventional data transmission systems, data is transmitted between a center device and multiple terminals, and in response to a request from a host computer, the terminal data held by the center device is sent back, or at the request of the host computer. The center device collects terminal data by communicating with the terminals, and sends the data back to the host computer. In such a data transmission system, the host computer must constantly collect terminal data at appropriate timing intervals, and thereby grasp the status of the terminal data or its changes. Not only does the amount of data communication increase, but the transmission of terminal data that really needs to be sent as soon as possible is delayed, and the processing content of the host computer increases, increasing the burden on the functions that the host computer is supposed to process. There is a big drawback that it does.

Furthermore, considering that the data of the terminal includes abnormal conditions and failure data of the entire terminal transmission system as the terminal system that constitutes the terminal, these status signals are also important information for the host computer. However, if these status signals are not sent to the host computer without a transmission request from the host computer, the host computer will determine that the terminal is operating correctly even if the terminal is in an abnormal state. There is also a fear that incorrect signal processing may be performed.

Further, when an abnormality occurs in a transmission system such as a host computer or a center device, in order to investigate the cause of the abnormality, it is necessary to investigate which data caused the abnormality to occur. However, when sending back data owned by the center device or data collected by communicating with terminals based on commands transmitted from the conventional host computer, the data sent to the host computer does not remain.
It is difficult to pursue the cause of the abnormality.

In addition, in many cases, abnormalities are caused by elements that make up the system, such as abnormalities in terminals or signal paths in the transmission system. Even if communication data is stored in memory, there is a problem in that it cannot be used as a chronological record of the occurrence of factors.

In this invention, each time the center device communicates with a terminal, it compares it with the previous communication data to see if there are any changes, or if there are any abnormalities or changes in the status of the terminal during terminal communication, and then creates a new data. When a change occurs, by having a means for automatically transmitting the change from the center device to the host computer, the processing function of the host computer is reduced and the change information is transmitted as much as possible. An object of the present invention is to provide a data transmission system that transmits data preferentially to a host computer in a short time.

The function of the terminal is to transmit any connected digital input signal or analog input signal as serial data via the signal path 5.
Furthermore, the terminal has a function of outputting data received via the signal path 5 to the outside. Furthermore, each terminal is assigned a unique address and has a built-in address switch for configuration. In the case of transmission between terminals (hereinafter referred to as N:N transmission method), consecutive even and odd addresses are determined to transmit data to each other. This is because we decided to do so, and it can be considered as just one example. When an address is designated, the input signal of the terminal with the odd number address is transmitted, and the terminal with the even number address receives and outputs this signal. Data transmission is then performed between the terminals in such a way that the input signal of the even-addressed terminal is transmitted, and the odd-addressed terminal receives it.

On the other hand, transmission between the center device and terminals (hereinafter 1:N
(referred to as a transmission method) is also performed as follows.
The center device is connected to the host computer 1 via the transmission path 2, and the host computer 1 sends a terminal operation signal to the center device 3, and the center device 3 that receives the signal transmits the terminal operation signal to the terminal using the 1:N transmission system. and output it externally from the terminal. Further, the center device 3 receives terminal input data through 1:N transmission, and the received terminal data is transmitted to the host computer 1. In addition, since the center device 3 receives all the signals on the signal path 5, it can also monitor data in the N:N transmission method, and although the data transmission itself is carried out between terminals, the contents can be monitored. This makes it possible to transmit designated terminal data to the host computer 1 from among the N:N transmission data held by the center device 3 in response to a request from the host computer 1 . It is also possible for the center device 3 to detect changes in data transmitted using these N:N transmission methods and transmit them to the host computer 11. Since there are various methods for communicating between the host computer 1 and the center device 3, a detailed explanation thereof will be omitted here.

A method for realizing these 1:N transmission and N:N transmission will be described below. FIG. 2 shows an example of the transmission format of the I:N transmission method transmitted by the center device 3. The center device 3 transmits data including the I:N output block communication along with the address block. This data is received by all terminals, and the terminals set in this address block are set to receive state. Next, output data for 8 addresses is sequentially transmitted from the center device 3 in the order of addresses 0→1→2...→7, and these data are received by the terminal that matches its own address. The output data of each address includes parity for preventing transmission errors, data for sum check, etc., and is configured so that when a data error occurs, the received data can be ignored.

Conversely, when the center device 3 receives data from a terminal, it specifies the block address to be communicated with as shown in the transmission format example in FIG. Then, in the same way as above, the terminals whose addresses match the address block are 0 →
They will be sent sequentially in the order of 1 → 2... → 7. If the terminal at the previous address does not transmit, the terminal at the next address waits for a certain period of time, confirms that no data is transmitted, and then transmits the input data. This time is set to be shorter in ascending order of addresses, so that the terminal with the later address can always transmit when the previous address is not transmitting.
With this configuration, even if the terminal being used skips over the middle of the address, failures due to missing numbers in the address will not occur.

Furthermore, in N:N data transmission between terminals, the transmission format shown in FIG. 2 is used as is. In this case, the data sent by the terminal is simply received by a terminal that has a specific address relationship with the sending terminal, and the data transmitted by the terminal is simply received by the terminal that has a specific address relationship with the sending terminal.
The system monitors these transmitted data and sets the data in the RAM of the center device. Although the transmission format shown in FIG. 2 shows the case of block communication, communication performed for each individual address is also used. However, since these transmission methods are not directly related to the present invention, their explanation will be omitted.

Figure 3 shows terminal data owned by the center device.
FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram of an example of arrangement in RAM. The terminal address in the example described here has a maximum number of addresses.
If there are 64 terminals, addresses 1, 2, ..., up to 64,
Input data of the terminal is set in sequential memory (RAM) by the CPU in the center device.
In the embodiment of FIG. 3, the input data length of the terminal is 32 bits, so Di 0 , Di 1 , Di 2 and Di 3 each have 8 bits, meaning a total of 32 bits of data. In addition, if the condition of the terminal is abnormal, such as when data transmission is impossible between the center device and the terminal, or when the analog input amount of the terminal is outside the specified range (for example, a signal circuit is disconnected), the terminal Similarly, since the failure data is being sent from
Set as state data by the CPU.
Regardless of whether the center device uses the I:N transmission method or the N:N transmission method, all transmission data is received by the center device, so input data from all terminals is held in the RAM of the center device.

On the other hand, since terminal data is received every time it communicates with a terminal, compare it with the data already owned in Figure 3, and if it has changed, change data RAM with the configuration shown in Figure 4. are set sequentially. In addition, in the case of digital input signals, processing functions such as multiple verification (for example, establishing data when the data matches three times in a row), and in the case of analog input signals, such as limiting the width of change and averaging, etc. Therefore, by providing a function that prevents terminal data from changing even when there is a simple noise signal, it is possible to compare the data received by the center device as is.

FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram of how to use these change data RAMs. Change data is stored in the change data memory in the order in which any change is detected.
They are set in RAM in the order they occur. However, it does not set change data for all terminals.
In other words, it is not necessary to set the data of the address terminal in the change memory, as it is only necessary to transmit the data of that terminal only when the host computer needs the terminal data. Therefore, it is sufficient that the center device has a function of setting a terminal address for detecting changed data, or a function of registering a terminal address for detecting changed data using data transmitted from a host computer. In general, providing a function to set terminal addresses in the center equipment not only increases hardware costs, but also allows registration and cancellation of function sets from the host computer to detect changes in accordance with changes in terminal data. Since the terminal address can be changed, it is common to register the address of the changed terminal from the host computer.

When the center device communicates with the terminal and receives the terminal data, it compares it with the previously received data, checks whether there is any change, and sets the latest terminal data in the Di data area shown in FIG. 3. If there is a change, it is checked whether it is registered as the above-mentioned change terminal, and if it is registered, it is set in the next data area of the change data set counter (CNT) in Figure 5b. ,

In such cases, the terminal communication speed is fast,
Moreover, changes occur in a large number of terminal data, and conversely, this problem is more likely to occur when the transmission speed between the host computer and the center device is slow.

By configuring as described above, terminal data can be monitored every time there is communication within the center device, and can be transmitted to the host computer preferentially compared to other communication data. In such a transmission system, e.g.
If the emergency switch signal is activated at an FA factory, etc.,
If it can be transmitted preferentially compared to other signals, there is no need for the host computer to receive the signal level of the emergency switch via the center device every time, so the processing function of the host computer can be significantly reduced.

However, a new problem arises when the registration of such a changed terminal is cancelled. This is a case where there is unsent change data in the host computer, and among the unsent change data there is change data of a terminal whose change terminal has been canceled. This means that after a terminal with a certain address is canceled as a changed terminal, changed terminal data is sent from the center device. Indeed, if it is just a single cancellation, it would be easy for the host computer to ignore this change data. However, if the registration as a changing terminal is canceled under certain conditions, and the next condition occurs again, and a subsequent change in terminal data is requested with the same terminal as a changing terminal, the previous unsent data will be If the data is sent after re-registration, the host computer will not be able to determine whether it is data that has changed since the previous registration or data that has changed since the re-registration, resulting in a misjudgment in the host computer. For this reason, the changed data in Fig. 4 includes the sent flag F.
If there is data of a terminal whose registration has been canceled as a changed terminal among the unsent terminal data, a sent flag F is set, and the transmission of the changed data to the host computer is prohibited. This sent flag F is used to prevent past unsent changed data from being sent even if the host computer requests the current terminal data that was registered as a changed terminal before the changed data. If there is change data for the same terminal address, the sent flag F is set and subsequent transmission is prohibited.

These variable terminals can also be applied to terminals in an N:N transmission system between terminals, so terminal data that is simply monitored by the center device can also be constantly monitored and the terminal data can be transmitted from the center device to the host computer. Therefore, the host computer side can also freely monitor the N:N transmission data, and can take appropriate measures when, for example, an abnormal condition occurs.

In addition, these change data RAMs contain changes in terminal data and occurrences of failures in chronological order, so they can be used as important data when examining system behavior in the event of an abnormal condition. I can do it. Therefore, when the center device receives a change data dump instruction (command) from the host computer, it sends the unsent change data to the host computer in the order in which it was sent in the past, so that the host computer can identify the cause of the abnormality. It is possible to investigate.

It has a function to register the target terminal address to detect changes in terminal data from the host computer or in the center device, and compares it with the previous received data every time the center device communicates with the terminal, and if there is a change, If the terminal is registered as a change terminal, the host computer can easily configure its processing functions by providing a function that automatically sends the change data to the host computer when the terminal is registered as a change terminal. In addition to this, it is also possible to prioritize and receive reception on noteworthy terminals.

Also, if the registration as a change terminal is canceled,
By having the function of canceling the data of the canceled terminal from the unsent change data, it is possible to prevent the sending of wrong change data after registration cancellation. Furthermore, even when a request to send current data from a terminal is received, a highly reliable system can be achieved by similarly preventing the sending of unsent changed data for that address. Furthermore, by extending this change terminal to the N:N transmission terminal address, it is possible to effectively monitor the N:N transmission data on the host computer side. In addition, by having the function to dump change data, it can be used as reference material to investigate the cause of abnormalities in the transmission system, and the RAS function of the transmission system can be strengthened.
