Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit waste liq. to be discarded extremely easily, irrespective of the structure of a trap, by mixing together 60-80wt.% silica and diatom shell having a specific particle size and 15-30wt.% high water absorbing resin. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 60-80wt.% silica and diatom shell having a particle size of 10-50 meshes and 15-30wt.% high water absorbing resin is used as the treating agent of the trap waste liq. produced in a prosthodontic operation. This treating agent is added, with stirring, to the waste liq. in a trap in the aforesaid operation, whereby the trap waste liq. is granularly gelatinized for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. The granular gelatinization of the waste liq. takes place in a manner wherein the high water-absorbing resin 2 which has absorbed water is enclosed by the silica and diatom shell 1 into a shaping agent which acts to granulate the waste liq. into a predetermined size and into a suitably solid and free-flowing state by the synergetic action of the adsorption by the silica and diatom shell and the water absorption by the high water absorbing resin.

Conventional technology Traditionally, in dental laboratories, etc., waste materials such as plaster used when making molds of artificial teeth are placed at the bottom of the work sink in order to prevent them from clogging drain pipes. The waste liquid is precipitated in a trap (sedimentation tank), and the precipitated waste liquid is cleaned regularly, but the content of the waste liquid is not only plaster, but also contains various chemicals, food residue, etc. This had the disadvantage that no one had to do the cleaning work because of the bad smell it emitted, and the waste liquid overflowed and clogged the drain pipes.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention The present invention sets the agitation time to a short time that is appropriate for the work, and makes it extremely easy to dispose of waste liquid regardless of the structure of the trap, thereby eliminating discomfort during trap cleaning. It is an object of the present invention to provide a treatment agent for trap waste liquid in dental laboratories, etc., which completely eliminates the problem and simplifies the workability. In view of issues such as workability, we provide a treatment agent for waste liquid in traps used in dental techniques, etc., which aims to make the waste liquid in the trap granular gelatinous in a short fixed period of time to facilitate processing operations, thereby solving the above drawbacks. This is an attempt to resolve the issue.

Regarding granular gelation of waste liquid, the super absorbent resin that has absorbed water is covered with silica, diatomaceous shell, etc., and the synergistic effect of the adsorption effect of the silica and diatomaceous shell, etc. and the water absorption effect of the super absorbent resin can be achieved to a moderate degree. It acts as an excipient to granulate a smooth state into a predetermined size with a certain strength, and turns it into a granular gel.

Next, the method for treating trap waste liquid according to the present invention will be explained. Waste liquid (about 6 liters in volume) settles in a trap 4 installed at the bottom of a sink 3 in a dental laboratory or the like.
By adding the treatment agent of the present invention and stirring for about 30 seconds to about 1 minute, the trap waste liquid is gelled into particles, and the treated waste is taken out and placed in the trap 4.
Clean the inside.

Regarding the granular gelation of waste liquid, when the superabsorbent resin 2 does not absorb water, long chains or entanglements form, and at the same time, the chains are bonded together (three-dimensional) and solidify densely.
Each chain has many hydrophilic groups (carboxyl groups), so when super absorbent resin 2 is placed in waste liquid containing moisture, it begins to spread as it tries to dissolve in water, and these hydrophilic groups become negative. The ions repel each other and further spread, but due to the three-dimensional structure, the ions remain in a state like an expanded net within a certain range, and water is trapped in the gaps of this net and absorbs and retains water. At the same time, since silica, diatomaceous shells, etc. 1 have countless micropores, gypsum, oil, sewage, filth, moisture, etc. in the waste liquid are adsorbed by the micropores, and are also absorbed around the super absorbent resin 2. Acts as an excipient that adsorbs and covers and granulates into a predetermined size in a smooth state with moderate strength due to the synergistic effect of the adsorption action of silica and diatomaceous shell 1 and the water absorption action of super absorbent resin 2. It is then turned into a granular gel.

In addition, by adding a deodorizing/neutralizing agent, it is possible to neutralize and deodorize odor components such as mercaptan, sulfide, sewage odor, skatole, etc. at the same time as granular gelation, and a bactericidal/disinfectant is also added. By doing so, it is possible to perform sterilization, disinfection, etc. at the same time as granular gelation, and the water absorption performance of the treatment agent of the present invention is 200 to 300 g/g for deionized water.
The saline solution (0.9%) is 13 to 20 g/g, and the effective pH range is preferably 4 to 10.

In short, in the present invention, 60 to 80% by weight of silica and diatomaceous shell etc. 1 having a particle size of 10 to 50 mesh and 15 to 30% by weight of super absorbent resin 2 are mixed, so that the waste liquid in the trap 4 is treated. By adding the agent and stirring, the trap waste liquid can be turned into a granular gel in about 30 seconds to about 1 minute, and the surroundings of the super absorbent resin 2 that has absorbed water with the silica and diatomaceous shells 1. It is possible to cover the silica and diatomaceous shell etc. 1 and form a granular gel into a predetermined size in a smooth state with moderate strength due to the synergistic effect of the adsorption effect of silica and diatomaceous shell etc. 1 and the water absorption effect of super absorbent resin 2. The time can be set to a short time that is appropriate for the work, and even if the trap 4 has a complex structure, the waste liquid is turned into a granular gel, making it extremely easy to dispose of. Therefore, it is possible to easily prevent the clogging of drain pipes due to overflow of waste liquid by completely eliminating the discomfort during waste liquid treatment as in the past, and it is also possible to use deodorizing/neutralizing agents, sterilizing/disinfecting agents, etc. By appropriately adding the agent, the working environment can be further improved and the cleaning workability of the trap 4 can be improved, and the practical effects thereof are enormous.
