Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide no drawing time of a form on and after the second page and to execute form overlay only for the drawing time of a text by mounting the bit map memory for the form other than the bit map memory for the text. CONSTITUTION:After the drawing of one page is completed, a main control part 1 transmits the OR of the image data of a bit map memory 2 for a text and the image data of a bit map memory 3 for a form to the engine part of a page printer through an engine interface part 5. Subsequently, the main control part 1 erases the content of the bit map memory 2 for the text for the purpose of drawing the next page but does not erase the content of the bit map memory 3 for the form until the indication of form overlay is released. Therefore, it becomes unnecessary that the main control part 1 performs the drawing processing of the form on and after the second page.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a controller for a page printer device.

[Prior Art] Fig. 2 is a block diagram showing a controller of a conventional page printer device. In Fig. 2, (1) is a main control unit;

If a form overlay is specified by the host computer, after or while the main control unit (1) draws the form to the text bit map memory (2), the main control unit (1) .

After drawing one page, the main control section (1) sends the image data in the text bit map memory (2) to the engine section of the page printer device via the engine interface section (5).

Therefore, the main control unit (1) needs to perform the same processing as above for the second and subsequent pages as well.
