Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a flat cable continuously and stably without requiring manpower by supplying a fusing tape of a predetermined size perpendicularly to the flat cable supplied to a tape supply part intermittently and automatically to a corresponding part to a parallel fusion part of the flat cable, and fusing it to form the parallel fusion part. CONSTITUTION:A fusion tape 2a of a predetermined size is supplied perpendicularly to flat cable 1 supplied from a supply mechanism to a tape supply mechanism intermittently and automatically to correspond to a parallel fusion part 3 of the flat cable 1, and it is fused to form the parallel fusion part 3. When a corresponding part to the parallel fusion part 3 reaches to a die 4, the fusion tape 2a is put on the corresponding part to the parallel fusion part 3 of flat cable 1, and it is fused in the die 4. Use of an excessive fusion tape on a twisting part as in conventional examples is thus eliminated, need of eliminating it by man's hand is eliminated, thereby the flat cable 1 can be manufactured continuously and stably without manpower.

Note that parts that are the same as those in the prior art are designated by the same reference numerals, and therefore their explanations will be omitted. In this embodiment, the tape feeding mechanism intermittently and automatically feeds the fusion tape 2a of a predetermined size from the direction perpendicular to the flat cable 1 sent out from the feeding mechanism to the parallel fused portion of the flat cable 1. A fusion tape 2a corresponding to No. 3 was supplied and fused to form a parallel fused portion 3. By doing this, there is no need to manually remove excess fusion tape on the twisted pair parts as in the past, and it is possible to provide a continuously stable flat cable 1 without requiring manual labor. It is possible to obtain a manufacturing method for a flat cable that makes it possible.

That is, the fusion tape 2 is in the form of a roll, and is inserted into the mold 4 using the tape conveying jig 7, and then passed through the tape crank plate 8.
Grab the fusion tape 2 with the button and return the tape loading jig to its original position. Then, the tape crank plate 8a is used to grasp the fusion tape 2, the cutter 9 is used to cut the fusion tape 2, a predetermined size of the fusion tape 2a to be fused is made, and the mold 4 is
hold under. Next, when the part of the flat cable l corresponding to the parallel welded part 3 reaches the mold 4, place this fusion tape 2a on the part of the flat cable 1 corresponding to the parallel welded part 3, and Perform heat fusion. By doing this, as shown in FIG. 2, the fusion tape 2a is fused to the part corresponding to the parallel fusion part 3, and no fusion tape is present in the twisted pair part 5. A flat cable (thin diameter twisted flat cable) 1 is supplied.

However, there are still ears 10 on the fusion tape 2a of the parallel fusion part 3.
Since the ear is attached, the ear is automatically cut by the ear cutting slitter 11 later on the same line, and the flat cable 1 is supplied by removing it (see Figure 1 and Figure 2). .

In this way, according to this embodiment, there is no need for manpower to cut the fusion tape in manufacturing the small diameter twisted cable.
The efficiency and appearance are improved, and the cost is also reduced. In addition, since flat cables can be easily manufactured,
It can easily be applied to small-diameter round cables, etc., which are made by rolling a flat cable and applying a sheath to the outer periphery. Therefore, the space factor of the flat cable can be significantly reduced while using a highly reliable connector with a pitch of 1.27 mm, without using a connector with a pitch of 0.635 mm, which has low reliability.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, the present invention intermittently and automatically applies a fusion tape of a predetermined size to the tape feeding mechanism from a direction perpendicular to the flat cable sent out from the feeding mechanism. Since we supplied the fusion tape to the part corresponding to the parallel fused part and fused it to form the parallel fused part,
There is no need to manually remove the excess fusion tape on the twisted part as in the past.
Moreover, it is possible to obtain a flat cable manufacturing method that makes it possible to continuously provide a stable flat cable.
