Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress high temp. degradation and prolong the lifetime by sintering a conductive ceramic material at a specific temp., which consists of a specified amount of Cr silicide, Al oxide, and Si carbide, and thereby forming the body of a spark rod. CONSTITUTION:Through a joint member 32 the body 31 of a spark rod working as a discharge region is coupled with the tip of a spark rod retainer 33 consisting of a high stiffness metal conductor. The body 31 is formed by sintering a conductive ceramic material in inert gas atmosphere at a temp. between 1700-2100deg., wherein the ceramic material is composed of 3-25 parts by wt. Cr silicide, 3-25 parts by wt. Al oxide, and Si carbide as remainder. With this body 31 fabricated according to the described procedure, degradation can be suppressed even though incremental heat quantity generated with combustion of the combustion gas has resulted in high temp., and the withstand lifetime can be prolonged.

[Prior Art] Conventionally, spark rods of this type were initially proposed that were made entirely of a metal conductor such as an iron-chromium-aluminum alloy (for example, "Canthal" manufactured by Gabrius). However, (i) as the amount of heat generated due to the combustion of combustion gas increases and the temperature inside the radiant tube or combustion furnace becomes high, deterioration such as wear due to oxidation or curvature due to creep will occur in a short period of time. (iii) The entire material must be replaced due to wear due to oxidation or deterioration such as curvature due to creep. Since there were drawbacks that could not improve efficiency, recently, in order to eliminate these drawbacks, the tip (hereinafter referred to as "°° spark rod body")
is made of a conductive ceramic material, and the proximal end (hereinafter referred to as "spark rod holder") is connected via a joint member.
However, with conventional spark rods, the spark rod body is now made of conductive ceramic material. However, it cannot adequately cope with the increase in the amount of heat generated as the combustion gas burns, and still has the disadvantage that deterioration such as consumption due to fil oxidation or curvature due to creep increases in a short period of time. There is a drawback that fii) the useful life is shortened, and fiii)
It has the disadvantage that it has to be replaced frequently due to deterioration such as wear due to oxidation or curvature due to creep, making it impossible to improve material efficiency.

[Function] As clearly stated in [Means for solving problem E above], the first spark rod according to the present invention has a spark rod body composed of 3 to 25 parts by weight of chromium silicide and 3 to 25 parts by weight of aluminum oxide. A conductive ceramic material made by blending the remaining silicon carbide with the remaining silicon carbide is heated to 170% in an inert gas atmosphere.
Since it is manufactured by sintering at a temperature of 0 to 2100°C, (1) it has the effect of suppressing deterioration even at high temperatures due to an increase in the amount of heat generated as the combustion gas burns; It acts to prolong the service life of fiil.

The spark rod main body 31 of the spark rod according to the present invention is made by blending together 3 to 25 parts by weight of chromium silicide, 3 to 25 parts by weight of aluminum oxide, 0 to 6 parts by weight of carbon, and the balance silicon carbide. The reason why the amount of chromium silicide is 3 to 25 parts by weight is that if it is less than 3 parts by weight, the electrical resistivity of the sintered body, that is, the spark rod body 31, will not be sufficiently reduced, and if it exceeds 25 parts by weight, it will not sinter. The mechanical strength of the assembly, that is, the spark rod main body 31 is reduced, making it easy to break.

The reason why the amount of aluminum oxide is 3 to 25 parts by weight is that if it is less than 3 parts by weight, the sinterability will deteriorate and the mechanical strength of the sintered body, that is, the spark rod body 31 cannot be ensured. If the amount exceeds the weight part, the mechanical strength of the sintered body, that is, the spark rod body 31 will decrease, making it more likely to be damaged. Aluminum oxide does not necessarily need to be added as a powder, but may be added as an aluminum alkoxide organic acid salt or the like and converted to aluminum oxide before sintering.

However, after adding 5 g of chromium silicide powder with an average particle size of 3.0 μm and 150+ nl of an acetone solution in which 8 g of phenolic resin with a degree of carbonization of 50% by weight was dissolved, an alumina pot mill (that is, an alumina pot and ball) was used. The mixture was stirred and mixed for 120 hours. After the solvent was removed by drying, the stirred mixture was granulated using a 60-mesh sieve to obtain granulated powder. Since the bot mill was made of alumina, the granulated powder contained about 12 parts by weight of aluminum oxide that had fallen off from the pot wall and balls. The granulated powder is molded by isostatic pressing at room temperature, and has a diameter of 4 mm and a length of 260 mm.
It was made into a rod-shaped molded body of mm. The rod-shaped molded body was housed in a graphite container and heated at 1900 °C under an argon atmosphere.

The proximal end of the spark rod body has its circumferential surface ground to a length of 10 mm, with an outer diameter of 3 mm, and a sheet-shaped activated silver solder with a width of 10 mm and a wall thickness of 0.05 mm is wrapped twice. After that, it was inserted into one end of the joint member. The spark rod body is housed in a carbon case with its base end inserted into the joint member, and is heated for about 1 hour in a vacuum furnace.
The temperature was maintained at 900°C for 5 hours under an atmosphere of 0-'mmHg. Accordingly, the spark rod main body was combined with the joint member to form a spark rod main body with a joint member. By the way, the composition of activated silver wax is 67 parts by weight of silver and 3 parts by weight of copper.
0 parts by weight and 3 parts by weight of titanium.

The spark rod was incorporated into a flame holder and then used as an ignition device for the radiant tube. In other words, the spark rod uses natural gas as the combustion gas, air as the combustion improver, and maintains the temperature inside the combustion furnace at 1150°C.
It was used continuously for 3 months while maintaining the temperature. The spark rod was removed from the flame stabilizer taken out from the radiant tube after stopping the supply of combustion gas and combustion aid as well as the power supply and waiting for the temperature inside the combustion furnace to reach room temperature due to natural cooling.

The granulated powder was molded by a room temperature isostatic press to form a rod-shaped molded body with a diameter of 4 mm and a length of 260 mm. The rod-shaped molded body was placed in a graphite container and sintered at a temperature of 1900° C. in an argon atmosphere, resulting in a sintered body having a diameter of about 3.2 mm and a length of about 210 mm.

(3) Effects of the Invention As is clear from the above description, the first spark rod according to the present invention has a spark rod body containing 3 to 25 parts by weight of chromium silicide, as disclosed in the above-mentioned [Means for Solving Problems]. It is produced by sintering a conductive ceramic material made of a mixture of 3 to 25 parts by weight of aluminum oxide and the remainder silicon carbide at a temperature of 1700 to 2100°C in an inert gas atmosphere. (i) It has the effect of suppressing deterioration even when the amount of heat generated due to combustion of combustion gas increases and becomes high temperature, and has the effect of prolonging the useful life.

As clearly stated in the above-mentioned [Means for solving the problem], the second spark rod according to the present invention has a spark rod body consisting of 3 to 25 parts by weight of chromium silicide, 3 to 25 parts by weight of aluminum oxide, and the remainder being carbonized. A conductive ceramic material made by blending silicon with I7 in an inert gas atmosphere.
f) (Because it is produced by sintering at a temperature of 1 to 2100°C, it has the effect of (il (iil) described above, similar to the first spark rod.
