【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、セラミック/セラミッ
ク及び金属/セラミックの摩擦つがい用の乾性潤滑剤並
びに潤滑方法に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】可動部
品の潤滑は、一般に、粒子を充填し得るまたは充填し得
ないオイルまたはグリースにより確保される。しかしな
がら、これらの潤滑剤の使用は使用温度によって制限さ
れる。
【0003】従って、高温の用途において、可動部品の
潤滑は、一般に、グラファイト、弗化カルシウムまたは
硫化モリブデンのような耐熱性の無機材料により保証さ
れている。この潤滑は、低温で用いる液体潤滑に対して
、乾性の表面潤滑である。
【0004】これらの固体潤滑剤は摩擦が生じる表面上
に種々の厚さの堆積物の形で導入される。それらは、粉
末状で直接、あるいは有機または無機のバインダーとの
組成物の形で堆積される。
【0005】しかしながら、これらの高温に耐え且つ摩
擦表面に導入される固体潤滑剤は、この表面に適当な潤
滑を与えることができない。従って、相対的に動作して
いる二つのセラミック間に堆積したグラファイト層は極
めて早く除去される。この現象は多くの知られた固体潤
滑剤により修正されてきた。
【0006】本発明の目的は、一方で、潤滑される二つ
の表面間に安定な層を形成し、他方で、特に外部条件、
特に、極めて高い温度及び高荷重の下で極めて低い摩擦
係数をもたらす、ひとつがセラミック材料からできた表
面用の固体潤滑剤を提供することによってこれらの欠点
を解消することにある。
【0007】要するに、本発明は、第1の材料からでき
た第1の表面とセラミック材料でできた第2の表面間の
接触を乾性潤滑するための材料を提供する。この潤滑剤
は、主成分として少なくとも一種の希土類弗化物を含む

剤は、また、希土類弗化物が分散されるバインダーを形
成する無機または有機化合物を含む。例えば、ポリキノ
キシリン、ポリベンズイミダゾール、ポリイミド、アク
リル、ポリビニル、アセテート、フェノール、シリコー
ン、エポキシ、ポリアミド、ウレタン、ポリビニルブチ
ラールまたは同様のポリマーを有機バインダーとして挙
げ得る。
【0011】同様に、本発明に好適な鉱物のまたは無機
バインダーとして、例えば、珪酸ナトリウム並びに、ナ
トリウム及び/またはカリウム及び/またはアルミニウ
ム珪酸塩のような珪酸塩または燐酸塩を挙げ得る。
【0012】本発明の潤滑剤は、また耐蝕性の改善用ま
たは、潤滑剤、着色剤、湿潤剤、粘度改質剤等の用途促
進用の種々の添加剤を含み得る。
【0013】バインダー及び希土類弗化物の濃度は臨界
的ではない。しかしながら、本発明の好ましい具体例に
従えば、潤滑剤中の希土類弗化物の重量濃度は少なくと
も50%、好ましくは80%〜95%である。
【0014】上記第1面は任意の材料で作製し得るが、
この材料は、例えば、ニッケルまたはコバルト含有合金
のような耐火型の金属材料、または非酸化物(SiC、
Si3 N4 、BN)または酸化物セラミック(ムラ
イト、ジルコニア等)のようなセラミックのような高温
度に耐え得る材料であるのが有利である。
【0015】本発明の好ましい態様において、本発明の
潤滑剤はセラミック材料でできた二つの面間の潤滑を確
保するのに特に適した材料にするのが有利である。
【0016】該セラミックの性質は臨界的ではなく、S
iC、BN、Si3 N4 、ジルコニア、ムライト等
を基質とするセラミックを挙げ得る。
【0017】従って、セラミック材料でできた面間に配
置された潤滑剤は、特に高温度で且つ高荷重の下で有効
な潤滑を保証する。さらに、潤滑剤は除去されず、従っ
て、長期間(数十時間)適度な潤滑を可能にする。
【0018】さらに、希土類弗化物は高温で安定である
ので、良好なレベルの潤滑が長期使用後でさえも維持さ
れる。

ラミック材料でできた二つの面間の接触部を潤滑する方

剤を、任意の慣用の方法を用いて組成物を成形すること

の形状に成形し得る。

、潤滑剤を、プラズマトーチかあるいはフレームブロー
トーチのいずれかを用いて材料の一方の面に被覆する。 従って、この場合にバインダーは不要である。

な説明、単なる模範として以下に与えた例、及び添付の
図面により一層明らかになる。

転運動している二つのセラミック部品1、2に関する試
験を、潤滑剤で部品1の面3を覆い、例えば、潤滑剤を
該面に拡散することによって実施する。
【0031】図示した組立体において、環4及び5をそ
れらがセラミック部品1の面にもたれるように配置する
。それらの環は粉末を充填しそして画定した容量に圧縮
することを可能にする。これらの環は潤滑剤が堆積した

【0037】試験1及び2は、摩擦係数の値が短時間の
運転後に高いので、接触部に導入された材料が”トラッ
プ”されていないことをはっきりと示している。この現
象は、第2図の曲線によって表わされ、摩擦係数の値(
K)の急激な上昇は潤滑剤の離脱に起因する(例1及び
2)。
【0038】これに対して、本発明に従う潤滑剤(例3
及び4)により、トラッピングは永久であり且つ適用さ
れた荷重が増加したときでさえ(図4)また温度が上昇
したとき(図5)でも、安定な運転状態(図3)をもた
らす。
【0039】接触部分の潤滑剤のトラッピングは、粒子
間及び第1材料に対する粒子の自己接着性を増加するこ
とにより改良され得る。例3及び4において、CeF3
 粉末は、重量基準により5%の割合で有機バインダー
(モンサント(Monsanto)B74ポリビニル樹
脂)により処理した。
【0040】同様の結果は、10%及び20%のバイン
ダー濃度及び一層高い分子量のポリビニル樹脂でも観測
された。
【0041】更に、試験を、25〜40μmの粒径の粉
末をプラズマトーチを用いて噴霧することにより金属部
品の表面上にCeF3 の層を堆積して行なった。この
金属部品とSiCセラミック部品との摩擦係数を種々の
温度及び種々の荷重の下で測定した。
【0042】こうして、室温で摩擦係数は高いが、温度
が上昇したときに急速に減少し、500℃を超える温度
、例えば、200daNから1000daNの高い荷重
のもとでさえも、800℃の温度で、時間の関数として
摩擦係数の変化を示す図6a及び適用した荷重F(da
N)時間を関数としてに示す図6bように、非常に低く
なる。

Claims (19)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】  第1の材料でできた第1面とセラミッ
    クでできた第2面との間の接触部を乾性潤滑するための
    固体材料であって、少なくとも一種の希土類弗化物を含
    むことを特徴とする上記固体材料。
  2. 【請求項2】  セリウム、ランタン、ネオジムまたは
    ガドリニウム弗化物を含む請求項1の材料。
  3. 【請求項3】  希土類弗化物が圧縮されている請求項
    1または2の材料。
  4. 【請求項4】  希土類弗化物が、プラズマトーチまた
    はフレームブロートーチを用いて表面に被覆された請求
    項1または2の方法。
  5. 【請求項5】  バインダーを形成する無機または有機
    化合物を含む請求項1〜3のいずれか一項の材料。
  6. 【請求項6】  バインダーを形成する化合物が、ポリ
    キノキシリン、ポリベンズイミダゾール、ポリイミド、
    アクリル、ポリビニル、アセテート、フェノール、シリ
    コーン、エポキシ、ポリアミドまたはウレタンポリマー
    のような樹脂からなる群から選ばれる有機樹脂である請
    求項5の材料。
  7. 【請求項7】  バインダーを形成する化合物が、珪酸
    塩または燐酸塩を含む化合物からなる群から選ばれる無
    機化合物である請求項5の材料。
  8. 【請求項8】  第1の面が耐火物型のニッケルまたは
    コバルト含有金属材料並びに非酸化物セラミックである
    SiC,Si3 N4 ,BN及び酸化物セラミックで
    あるムライト,ジルコニアから選ばれるセラミック材料
    からなる群から選ばれる材料でできている請求項1〜7
    のいずれか一項の材料。
  9. 【請求項9】  二つの表面がセラミック材料でできて
    いる請求項1〜8のいずれか一項の材料。
  10. 【請求項10】  セラミック材料が、SiC,BN,
