Abstract

PURPOSE:To lighten the burden of a serviceman who executes service such as the detection of a fault or the exchange of the parts of a defective place, while looking at a service manual by developing data read by a data reading means on the display screen of the device of simple constitution in which a keyboard is omitted and a touch panel is used. CONSTITUTION:When the displayed numerical values of dial locks 13, 14 are adjusted to be prescribed values, a cover 12 is opened, and a switch 15 supplies power supply, and a CPU 31 is turned into an operating state, and the CPU 31 checks through a CD driving device 36 whether a compact disk 24 is set in the device or not. When the compact disk 24 is set in a device main body 11, the data corresponding to a menu picture is read by the CD driving device 36, and is developed as an image on a RAM 34. A liquid crystal driving device 38 displays this menu picture on a liquid crystal display panel 16. Thus, efficient work control for which relation between time required for the maintenance and inspection of the serviceman and the time required for arrival at a customer's place is taken into consideration can be realized.

A service person visits each customer with a service manual, parts, etc. necessary for a series of services expected from leaving the office until returning to the office. Then, while looking at the service manual, we perform services such as discovering failures and replacing failed parts. If you need to replace a part that you did not bring with you, create a memo to order the part.

``Problems to be Solved by the Invention'' Therefore, the more copiers a service person is responsible for, the more materials such as service manuals must be carried, placing a greater burden on the service person. Also,
Even after I returned to work, I still had to create reports and order parts, so not only did I spend a considerable amount of time on these administrative tasks, but I also had to write down information on reports and order forms. There is a problem in that if a mistake occurs, parts cannot be replaced smoothly.

This information processing device has the shape of an 85-sized thick notebook, and has a lid 12 disposed on the top of the device body 11 so as to be openable and closable. A pair of combination locks 13 and 14 for locking the lid 12 are arranged at the front of the main body 11 of the apparatus, and the lid 12 is opened when the combination locks are set to a predetermined value. When the lid 12 is opened, a mechanical switch 15 disposed at a predetermined position on the top surface of the device main body 11 detects this and turns on the power (built-in battery, not shown) of this information processing device. A liquid crystal display board 16 is arranged on the top surface of the device main body 11, and a touch panel 17 is attached to the surface thereof. Device body 1
A pair of elongated holes 18.19 are bored in the front edge of the upper surface of the lid 12, and bolts 21.2 are inserted into the lid 12 at positions corresponding to these holes.
2 is provided protrudingly. Therefore, when the lid 12 is closed, the bolts 21 and 22 are accommodated in the elongated holes 18 and 19, and when the numerical value displayed on the combination lock 13 and 14 is changed appropriately in this state, the lid 12 is locked. The reason why the lid 12 is provided with such a locking mechanism is to restrict the persons who can access this information processing device.

FIG. 8 shows the display contents on the liquid crystal display panel when, for example, the part "cassette" is selected. On the upper left side of the liquid crystal display panel 16, the word "cassette" as the selected part (assembly) and its figure number are displayed. Also, area 61 is on the right shoulder.
The number selected by the customer is displayed. Below these the basic appearance of the cassette is shown, and the third
Each of the parts as a layer is displayed within an area 66 of the same size. At the bottom of the liquid crystal display board 16 are an area 67 displaying the word "order" for instructing the ordering of the cassette itself, an area 68 displaying the word "failure" for inputting the failure status of the cassette, and An area 69 displaying the characters ``Correction'' as a mode for correcting the incorrect presses in areas 67 and 68, and an area 64 displaying the characters ``Back'' described above are displayed, respectively.

Below these texts on the liquid crystal display panel 16, an area 74 for displaying the history of this copying machine and the area 64 described above are displayed. When the service person presses the area 74 (step ■; Y in FIG. 15), the CPU 31 performs a history display process (step 0), which will be explained later, and the history of this copying machine is displayed on the liquid crystal display board 16. . The service engineer can proceed with analysis of failures, etc. while looking at this history. If the history display process is completed, and if the numerical value M is not "1" in step ■ and the area 74 for "career" or the area 64 for "back" is not pressed, step ■ The work by the service personnel will be monitored.

The reason why we decided to delete the data other than the failure analysis in No. 5 was because we decided to save only the data related to the failure analysis necessary for displaying the history in consideration of the capacity of the NVM 35. When the above erasing operation is completed, characters indicating completion of communication are displayed on the liquid crystal display board 16 (step 2), and all copy mode processing is completed (end).

In the embodiment described above, a key is used so that only the owner can open the lid of the information processing device, so there is an advantage that confidential documents can be handled with peace of mind. Further, in the embodiment, since the mechanical switch 15 detects the opening and closing of the lid 12 to turn on and off the power, it is possible to prevent forgetting to turn off the power.

By the way, in the embodiment, NVM (non-volatile memory) 35
Since it was decided to store data related to the history of each copying machine and one day's worth of data, a relatively large capacity non-volatile memory would be required to record the history for a long period of time. If the capacity of the non-volatile memory provided in the device is not very large, you can delete the oldest data and input the new data, but this will make it difficult to display sufficiently long-term data as a history. may be difficult.

Therefore, in such cases, read-only CDs
- A readable and writable compact disk can be used instead of a ROM. According to such an information processing apparatus as described in claim 2, the NVM 35 shown in FIG. 1 becomes unnecessary, and data such as parts orders can also be displayed as data indicating history. Furthermore, if compact discs are managed by model, the history is stored for each model, and it is possible to easily check and display not only the history of the same customer of the same model, but also the history of the same model as a whole. It is also possible to input data processed by this information processing device or other information processing devices from a host computer, etc. to this storage medium at a desired time, and display it on each information processing device as data related to career history. Become. When using such a readable and writable compact disc, it is necessary to use a CD drive device 36 shown in FIG. 1 that can input and output data.

In addition, in the embodiment, an information processing device used by a service person for a copying machine was explained as an example, but this device can be used not only by service personnel for other electronic devices but also for recording learning processes and improving skills in the field of education. It can be widely applied to various fields such as analysis.

"Effects of the Invention" As explained above, according to the invention as claimed in claim 1, since the data reading means for reading data from a removable storage medium is provided, it can be widely used by using various external storage media. This has the effect of being able to process data. Furthermore, since a touch panel is used, there is no need to use a keyboard, and the device can be manufactured compactly. In addition, since we have decided to store a series of selection results from the touch panel as one set of data, it is possible to determine the level or ability of the operator, such as a service person or trainee, by checking whether the selection was good or bad. New uses for the device can be developed.

Further, according to the invention set forth in claim 2, in addition to the effect of the invention set forth in claim 1, there is an effect that a large amount of data can be written to a removable storage medium. Furthermore, by directly setting the storage medium on which this data has been written into the host computer's terminal, etc., data can be received and delivered without going through a communication device.

Furthermore, according to the invention as claimed in claim 3, since the series of selection results by the touch panel are made into one set of data together with the discussion information, it is possible to manage the time of a person who carries this information processing device and carries out activities. This makes it possible to perform efficient work management that takes into account, for example, the relationship between the time required for maintenance and inspection by service personnel and the time required to reach the customer.
