し、紫外線を一定時間照射して上記缶蓋サンプルの殺菌
を行なった(実施例1)。さらに比較のために、上記図
面に示された装置の容器蓋保持域Aの周囲に紫外線照射
ランプを設け、該域に保持されている缶蓋サンプルの側
面側から紫外線を一定時間照射して殺菌を行なった(比
較例1)。滅菌した空缶に滅菌した肉エキス培地を無菌
的に充填し、上記で殺菌された缶蓋サンプルを巻き締め
て密封した。この缶を37℃恒温室に5日間保存した後
に開缶し、濁り、臭い、pHにより変敗の有無を判定し
た。その結果を表1に示す。

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】  上下に水平方向に対向して設けられた
一対の紫外線照射装置間に、実質的に平板状の容器蓋を
連続的に供給し、紫外線照射により該容器蓋の殺菌を行
なう方法において、前記容器蓋は、その外面が上方の紫
外線照射装置に面し、且つ内面が下方の紫外線照射装置
に面するように連続的に供給されることを特徴とする容
器蓋の殺菌方法。
1. A method of sterilizing container lids by continuously supplying substantially flat container lids between a pair of ultraviolet ray irradiation devices installed vertically and horizontally opposite each other, and sterilizing the container lids by irradiating them with ultraviolet rays. A method for sterilizing container lids, characterized in that the container lids are continuously supplied so that the outer surface thereof faces an upper ultraviolet irradiation device and the inner surface faces a lower ultraviolet irradiation device.

射域、前記容器蓋保持域から容器蓋を紫外線照射域に搬
送するための搬送機構、を備え、実質的に平板状の容器
蓋が、前記複数本の支柱によって支持され、該支柱の回
転によって上方から下方に移送されるとともに、その下
方端に位置する容器蓋は、前記搬送機構によって、その
外面が上方の紫外線照射装置に面し、且つ内面が下方の
紫外線照射装置に面するように紫外線照射域に連続的に
供給されるようにしたことを特徴とする、容器蓋の両面
について同時にかつ均一に紫外線照射による殺菌が行な
われる殺菌装置。
