(Prior Art) Conventionally, for example, in the packaging machine described in JP-A No. 58-90010, the packaging film stretched in the packaging section is clamped by both front and rear presser members at both edges in the width direction. When the tray on the pedestal device is pushed up to the packaging position, the packaging film is stretched to cover the tray from above, and then the packaging film is folded by the folding device below the tray. The tray is then wrapped.

That is, for example, in the folding device of the packaging machine,
The rear folding member moves forward and backward relative to the fixed front folding member, approaching and separating from each other, and the left and right folding members open and close each other as the rear folding member moves back and forth below the rear folding member. The erected article mounting table can be tilted inward by contact with the rear folding member and both left and right folding members. Then, as the rear folding member moves forward and the left and right folding members close each other, these folding members push the packaging film toward the bottom of the tray on the mounting table and contact the mounting table. Touch it and tilt it. When the pedestal device moves downward at the same time as this tilting, the tray is sequentially placed on the rear folding member from the rear side of the lower surface, and the packaging film is folded under the tray from both the rear and left and right directions. Thereafter, when the tray is conveyed forward by the rotation of the conveyor belt and transferred from the rear folding member to the front folding member, the packaging film hits the front folding member on the underside of the tray during the transfer, and the packaging film hits the front folding member and moves forward. The tray is also folded in from the bottom, and the folding from the rear is overlapped with the folding from both the left and right directions, and the folding from the front is further overlapped to form a folded portion at the bottom of the tray. Next, the rear folding member retreats, and as the rear folding member retreats, the left and right folding members also open from each other.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, the left and right folding members are supported so as to be rotatable in the left-right direction on both the left and right sides of the rear folding member, and the distance between the pivot points and the maximum distance between the tips are limited. Since the opening dimension is always constant, if the width in the left and right direction of the item corresponding between the left and right folding members changes, the bite size of the left and right folding members on both left and right sides of the lower surface of the item changes, and the packaging state is not constant. In other words, if the product width is too small, the penetration dimension will be too large and the packaging film will cover the underside of the product more than necessary, resulting in wasted packaging film.On the other hand, if the product width is too large, the penetration dimension will be too small and the packaging film will be wasted. The area covered by the packaging film decreases, and the packaging film tends to peel off from the bottom surface of the item, resulting in poor packaging conditions.

Therefore, the first method is to make it possible to adjust the maximum opening dimension between the tips of the left and right folding members, so that, for example, the length of penetration of the left and right folding members into both the left and right sides of the bottom surface of a microscopic object can be made almost constant. This is an invention. Moreover, the second invention is such that it is possible to automatically select the optimum opening size according to the width of the article in the left and right direction.

Structure of the Invention (Means for Solving Problems) Therefore, in the first invention, the rear folding member 77 moves in the front-rear direction, and the rear folding member 77 moves back and forth to move relative to the rear folding member 77. The front folding members 89 are provided so as to be movable relative to each other in the left and right direction, and are always located on both left and right sides of the rear folding members 77, and move toward and away from each other in conjunction with the back and forth movement of the rear folding members 77. These front, rear, left and right folding members 8 are provided with both left and right folding members 82.

In a packaging film folding device having a folding part R for folding a packaging film F onto an article W by moving close to each other, the rotation fulcrums 84 of both the left and right folding members 82, which maintain a constant interval M, are close to each other. Separable left and right support members 82a, and a drive mechanism 14 that moves the left and right support members 82a toward or away from each other.
1, and a guide plate 143 that supports the guide pin 147 movably in the left-right direction on both left and right sides of the rear folding member 77 and extends from both the left and right support members 82a.
A guide groove 146 extending in the front-rear direction is formed, and the guide pin 147 is engaged with this guide groove 146, and can be rotated by a link 149 between the guide pin 147 and the distal end sides of both the left and right folding members 82. The main feature is that an interlocking mechanism is provided, which is connected to the rear folding member 77 and interlocks the left and right movement of both the left and right folding members with the back and forth movement of the rear folding member 77.

(Function) Therefore, in the first invention, when the left and right support members are moved close to each other by the drive mechanism, the guide plate moves integrally with the drive mechanism, and the left and right folding members are further moved to the left and right support members via the link. Since they are moved close to each other in conjunction with each other, when the packaging film is folded into the product, the amount of penetration into the bottom surface of the product remains constant regardless of the size of the product. Then, the positions of both the left and right folding members are adjusted to optimal positions according to the left and right width of the item.

Further, in the second aspect of the present invention, the distance between the left and right support members is automatically selected so that the right and left folding members have an optimal distance depending on the left and right width of the article. When the drive mechanism is driven and controlled to move the left and right folding members close to each other, the guide plate moves integrally, and the left and right folding members move in conjunction with the left and right support members via links to move them closer together. Because they are spaced apart, when the packaging film is folded into the product, the size of the biting into the bottom surface of the product is automatically kept constant regardless of the size of the product. Then, the positions of both the left and right folding members are adjusted to optimal positions according to the left and right width of the item.
