As mentioned above, obbligato as a prelude,
As the performance of the auto bass chord and auto rhythm starts, the comparator 132 closes the latch circuit 11.
9-bit note length data 1 from 6 and counter 13
Comparison with the 9-bit count output of Q 2 to Q 10 of No. 4 is started. When the performance mode signal PLAY becomes "1", the counter 134 is reset via the inverter 136 and the OR gate 138, and is reset by the performance mode pulse ΔPLAY supplied via the OR gates 100 and 138. Once reset, the tempo clock signal TCL from the tempo oscillator 65 in FIG. 3 is counted. When the count output values of Q 2 to Q 10 of the counter 134 match the value of the code length data 1 from the latch circuit 116, the comparator 132 generates a match signal EQ. In this case, since the counter 134 uses the count outputs of Q 2 to Q 10 for comparison, the count value is four times as large as that when the count outputs of Q 0 to Q 8 are used for comparison.

Here, the obbligato is played at a high volume as a prelude up to pitch data K-1 and note length data K-1 in FIG. The music is played at a low volume according to the volume control data VOL k (L).
That is, in FIG. 2, when the discrimination circuit 86 receives the volume control data VOL k (L), it generates a low volume signal LO to reset the flip-flop 106. Since the output Q of the flip-flop 106 = "1" resets the flip-flop 114 via the AND gate 112 when reading the pitch data K+1, the volume control signal VC consisting of the output Q of the flip-flop 114 becomes "0".
It works to lower the volume of the obbligato.

Furthermore, when performing an obbligato at such a low volume, if the rhythm control data RMC k following the note length data K+1 in FIG. 5 instructs rhythm conversion or rhythm off, then the rhythm selection control in FIG. The circuit 124 generates a selection signal so as to slightly deform the rhythm pattern and/or bass chord pattern during the prelude if the rhythm is changed, or not to generate the rhythm pattern signal PS if the rhythm is off.
SEL is supplied to pattern memory 126. Therefore, if the rhythm is changed, the pattern memory 126 generates a rhythm pattern signal corresponding to a modified rhythm (fill-in rhythm) pattern and/or a bass/chord timing signal BCT corresponding to a modified bass chord pattern; Rhythm pattern signal PS is not generated. Therefore, when the rhythm is changed, the autorhythm and/or autobass chord pattern is slightly changed, and when the rhythm is off, the autorhythm is stopped. Such a change or stop state continues for one bar, and is canceled in response to the bar pulse MP generated from the counter 62 at the end of one bar, and as a result, the auto bass chord and auto rhythm are changed during the prelude. Back to the stuff. Note that in the case of rhythm off, the chord timing at which the auto bass chord is sounded is determined according to the bass chord pattern control signal in the rhythm control data RMC k .

Since the start pulse ΔSTRT is supplied to the write/read control circuit 20 as the first read command signal via the OR gate 142, the circuit 20 supplies the first read address signal to the melody pitch RAM 22. Therefore, the first rest data 1 in the melody pitch data MEP shown in FIG. 5 is read out from the RAM 22 and latched by the latch circuit 144 in response to the start pulse ΔSTRT. Further, the start pulse ΔSTRT is supplied to the write/read control circuit 24 as the first read command signal via the OR gate 146, so the circuit 24 supplies the first read address signal to the melody code length RAM 26.
Therefore, the first note length data 1 corresponding to the whole rest in the melody note length data MEL shown in FIG.

After this, when the performance mode pulse ΔPLAY is generated, this pulse is sent out through the OR gate 150 as the readout control signal MNEXT. This read control signal MNEXT is applied to latch circuits 152 and 1.
54 latches rest data 1 and note length data 1 from latch circuits 144 and 148, respectively, while being supplied to write/read control circuits 20 and 24 via OR gates 142 and 146, respectively. Therefore, in the same way as last time, the second rest data 2 is read from the RAM 22, and the second note length data 2 corresponding to a whole rest is read from the RAM 26, and the latch circuits 144 and 14 respectively read out the second rest data 2 corresponding to the whole rest.
It is latched at 8.

The 9-bit code length data 1 from the latch circuit 154 is supplied to the comparator 156 and
It is compared with the 9-bit count output of Q2 to Q10 . Here, when the performance mode signal PLAY becomes "1", the counter 158 is reset via the inverter 160 and the OR gate 162, and the performance mode pulse ΔPLAY supplied via the OR gates 150 and 162 After being once reset by , the tempo clock signal TCL from the tempo oscillator 65 shown in FIG. 3 is counted. When the values of the count outputs of Q 2 to Q 10 of the counter 158 match the value of note length data 1 (corresponding to a whole rest) from the latch circuit 154, the comparator 156 generates a match signal EQ.

The match signal EQ causes counter 158 to be reset via OR gates 150 and 162, and counter 1

Count to TCL. The coincidence signal EQ is also sent as the read control signal MNEXT via the OR gate 150, so that the latch circuit 152 receives the rest data 2 from the latch circuit 144 and the latch circuit 154 receives the rest data 2, in the same manner as described above. Note length data 2 corresponding to whole rests are fetched from the circuit 148, and rest data 3 is fetched from the RAM 22.
However, code length data 3 is read out from RAM 26 and latched in latch circuits 144 and 148, respectively. Therefore, the comparator 156 compares the note length data 2 and the counter 158 in the same manner as described above.
A comparison operation with the count output of Q 2 to Q 10 is performed, and a match signal is generated at the timing when the note length (whole rest) reaches the end.
EQ is generated.

As shown in FIG. 5, only rest data is supplied to the melody sound forming circuit 164 in the prelude section.
No melody sound is produced from the speaker 76 during the four measures of the prelude. Then, when the prelude ends, a melody tone is played based on the pitch data 5 and the note length data 5. After this, when the interlude begins, rest data N~N
Since it becomes +3, the melody sound is not played, and the melody sound is played again after the interlude ends. Note that the automatic performance of the melody normally ends before the automatic performance of the obbligato ends, and the 7th automatic performance ends at the latest.
The process ends at point t e in the figure.

The melody sound forming circuit 164 can also form the melody sound signal MO based on manual performance data from a key switch circuit 168 that includes a number of key switches that are respectively linked to a number of keys on the keyboard 166. Therefore, when a manual performance is performed on the keyboard 166, a manual performance sound is produced from the speaker 76.

As described above, according to the present invention, the tempo is instructed by emitting light for a predetermined period of time before the start of automatic performance, making it easy to synchronize the timing between automatic performance and manual performance, especially for beginners. This has the effect of allowing you to grasp the tempo and move on to the performance. Furthermore, since the tempo is indicated by light emission, it is not jarring like the tempo indicated by sound, and it has the advantage of being smart, especially when playing in front of people, because you can smoothly move on to the performance without any pre-beats.
