[The problem that the invention attempts to solve! ] (Problem) The conventional terminal devices described above have problems when attempting to individually change the display method on the terminal device at the request of the user.
There was a problem in that the software burden on the computer system side became large. (Explanation of the problem) The factors that determine the display method on a terminal device include the color and brightness of displayed characters, whether to display them in reverse or not, whether to display a single screen or a dialog using a window, etc. There are various factors. To change the display method, you must change these elements. The terminal devices 2, 3, etc. connected to the computer system 1 may have the same performance, but may also have different performance. If the performance differs, a display (for example, color display) that can be performed with one type of terminal device may not be possible with another type of terminal device. Further, even if the terminal devices have the same performance, each terminal may be required to display information in a different display method. In order for the computer system 1 to output a signal that is compatible with the display method of each terminal device, it is necessary to change the control program that is compatible with that terminal device. The same thing can be said when there is a request to not only display messages sent from the computer system 1, but also to change the input method on the input unit 6 depending on the terminal device. Input is generally performed using a keyboard, but there are also manual input methods as described below. FIG. 4 is a diagram showing an example of input in the form of a response to a question from the screen. In Figure 4, 10
is a screen, 11.12.13 is a window, 13-1 is a continue button, and 13-2 is a cancel button. On the screen 10, a window 11 is first displayed, and then a window 12.13 is displayed asking the user, ``There is an error in the command. Do you want to continue or cancel?''. Input is performed by selecting either the continue button 13-1 or the cancel button 13-2 using a mouse or the like. Note that display using a window is called visual display because it appeals to the pictorial sensibilities of the viewer and makes the content easier to understand. Furthermore, since calling up a window is performed through interaction between the terminal device and the user, it is also called a dialog display. In order to meet the above-mentioned requests for display and input, it is necessary to individually change the terminal control program corresponding to each terminal device. In other words, it is necessary to change each individual interface. Not only that, the main program may also have to be changed so that the various terminal control programs that have been changed can be executed without any problems. Therefore, as the number of terminal devices increases, the programs in the computer system 1 become extremely complex.
In fact, we had no choice but to give up on the above-mentioned measures because the cost of creating them would be high. The purpose of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows an information communication system using the terminal device of the present invention.
The reference numerals correspond to those in FIG. 3, 7 is a display converter, and 8 is an input converter. The difference in configuration from the conventional example shown in FIG. This is because the converter 8 is provided. The display conversion unit 7 converts the message attributes such as the color and brightness of the characters representing the message into desired ones, and
Convert message content (for example, convert an English message to a Japanese message with the same meaning, or vice versa). The input conversion unit 8 converts button selection operations on the screen using the mouse into character input (e.g., English human power) that has a meaning corresponding to the button and is compatible with the computer system 1.
Perform conversions such as converting to . FIG. 2 shows the pronk configuration of the terminal device of the present invention. The symbols correspond to those in FIG. 1, and 7-1 is a message attribute conversion unit;
7-2 is a message attribute conversion table, 7-3 is a message content conversion section, 7-4 is a message content conversion table, 8-1 is an input conversion section, and 8-2 is a response conversion table. A signal from the computer system 1 is first received by the communication control unit 4, but the signal at this stage is not designed to take into account the display method or input method of each terminal device. The display converter 7 converts the signal into a signal that is compatible with the display method. The message attribute conversion unit 7-1 converts the message attributes as described above, but in performing the conversion, the message attribute conversion table 7-2 is referred to. A correspondence table is stored in advance that determines what kind of messages sent from the computer system I should be displayed in what color and brightness, and what messages should be automatically responded to. This correspondence table can be unique for each terminal device. Figure 7 shows a specific example of a message attribute conversion table. The vertical columns contain individual messages (A,
B, etc.), and what is written in the horizontal column is the type of message attribute. The message content conversion unit 7-3 performs message content conversion such as converting a message received from the computer system 1 in English into a message in Japanese. For example, as illustrated below. rO31000READY FO[l COMMAND
J↓ r OS 1000 Please enter the command.'' This conversion is performed with reference to the message content conversion table 7-4. The message content conversion table 7-4 stores in advance a correspondence table that determines how to convert each message. The signal converted as described above is displayed on the display section 5. Therefore, if the contents of the message attribute conversion table 72 and the message content conversion table 7-4 are set to achieve a desired display method, the computer system
Display in a desired format can be performed without having a special signal suitable for the display format sent from the computer. That is,
The input conversion section 8-1 converts the input from the input section 6 into the computer system without imposing a software burden on the computer system 1 (the terminal devices can individually perform display in a desired manner). 1 Converts the signal into a signal that can be understood 0 For example, I would like input unit 6 to input from a dialog display screen using Japanese so that it is easy for Japanese people to understand, but the computer system l does not accept input in English. There are cases where only input is accepted, and in such cases, the necessary conversion is performed here.In this conversion, the response conversion table 8-2 is referred to.Response conversion table 8- The contents of 2 can be determined in advance for each terminal device. Fig. 5 shows an example of the input screen of the dialog display.
is an input message, and 15.16 is a selection button. A message C is shown as the input message 14, and how to respond to this message C is selected using buttons 15 and 16. Selection is made using a mouse or the like. For example, as shown in Figure 4, the message C is "There is an error in the command. Do you want to continue or cancel?"
You may be asked to select either option using buttons labeled ``Continue'' or ``Cancel.'' When one is selected, a signal corresponding to that button and in a format that the computer system 1 accepts is extracted from the response conversion table 8-2 and sent to the computer system 1. FIG. 6 shows a specific example of the response conversion table. If the button 15 when message C is displayed is, for example, "Continue", rcONTIN[JJ is stored in the response conversion table 8-2 as a corresponding button. Further, if the button 16 is displayed as "Cancel", for example, rABORT J is stored as the button corresponding thereto. Therefore, when any button is selected, one of the above-described characters corresponding to that button is sent to the computer system I. By appropriately determining the contents of the response conversion table 8-2, input on individual terminal devices can be performed in a manner convenient for the user without placing a burden on the computer system 1 in terms of software. 2 Effects of the Invention] As described above, according to the terminal device of the present invention, each terminal device newly incorporates a display conversion section and an input conversion section, and by individually setting the contents of each table included therein. Now, it has become possible to display images in a desired manner individually and manually, without putting a burden on the computer system in terms of software.
