Prior Art In the process of planting piles using a tufting machine, the base fabric becomes double or double overlapped at the seam of the base fabric, so if the stitching is carried out as it is, needles, loopers,
Furthermore, there is a great possibility that the plate pin etc. will be damaged. For this reason, conventionally, the tufting machine is generally stopped at a position immediately before the joint portion of the base fabric reaches the stitching station, and a base fabric feeding operation is performed in which only the base fabric is fed out.

Problems that the invention aims to solve However, conventional general tufting machines
Since the machine is not equipped with a special mechanism for feeding the base fabric, the actual situation is that the base fabric is fed by the following work procedure. That is, in order to send out only the base fabric, first send out only the pile yarn to give it some slack so that it does not fall out from the needle, and then cut the multiple pile loops hanging on the looper. It is necessary to carry out a work procedure in which the base fabric is then fed.
However, in order to actually carry out such work, for example, in the process of cutting the pile loops hanging on the looper, it is necessary to cut the pile loops hanging on the looper within a range where the needle does not penetrate into the base fabric. Since the main shaft must be locked within a predetermined angle range within which the knife can effectively cut the object, the brake is turned off, a handle is attached to the main shaft, and the handle is rotated several times in the forward and reverse directions. Swinging and other operations are required, and furthermore, in order to drive only the base fabric feed roller when feeding the base fabric, a designated transmission belt in the transmission system from the main motor must be removed in advance to move the needle, pile, etc. It is necessary to prevent the yarn feeding mechanisms and the like from operating at the same time, and each requires complicated work according to a predetermined procedure, which poses a problem in that it requires skill and a lot of effort.

In other words, the gist of this invention is as follows:
a changeover switch between the steady operation circuit and the base fabric feed control circuit; an inching switch that applies a slow rotation drive command to the main motor of the tufting machine after switching to the base fabric feed circuit by the changeover switch;
When the main motor rotates at a very low speed when the inching switch is turned on, the needle, which is raised and lowered at a very low speed, reaches the top dead center for the first time.This is detected and a stop command is given to the main motor, causing the needle to return to the top dead center. A needle top position detection sensor that stops the needle top at a certain position; a yarn feed motor that rotationally drives the yarn feed shaft to loosen the pile yarn guided by the needle when the yarn feed switch is turned on; Forward/reverse control including a clutch disposed in a transmission system between the yarn feed shaft and the main shaft to cut off rotational transmission from the yarn feed shaft to the main shaft, and an inverter that controls the main motor in forward/reverse direction by turning on a forward/reverse switch. A loop cutting knife operated by the main shaft is configured to control the forward and reverse rotational drive range of the main motor within a range in which the needle, which is driven up and down by the drive of the motor, does not penetrate the base fabric. , a forward/reverse range for detecting the permissible rotation angle of the main shaft and giving a stop command to the main motor so as to limit the rotation angle within a range that can effectively cut the pile loop suspended on the looper; A regulation sensor, a top dead center display means that operates when the needle reaches top dead center when the main motor is driven in forward or reverse rotation by turning on the forward/reverse switch, and after the display of the display means is activated. a base fabric feed motor that rotates a base fabric feed shaft when a base fabric feed switch is turned on;
A tufting machine comprising: a clutch disposed in a transmission system between the base fabric feed shaft and the main shaft so as to interrupt rotational transmission from the base fabric feed shaft to the main shaft while the base fabric feed motor is being driven. The gist is a base fabric feeding device.

FIG. 1 shows a schematic configuration of a drive system of a base fabric feeding device according to this invention. In the figure, the drive system for steady operation is the same as that of a conventional tufting machine, in which a main shaft 2 is rotationally driven by a main motor 1, and mechanical power is supplied from the main shaft to all operating parts. It is said that Regarding the stitching operation, the needles 4 fixedly planted on the needle bar 3 are attached to the base fabric 10 (the eighth
The pile thread 11 guided therein cooperates with the looper 12 below the needle plate to form a pile loop 13 of a predetermined height on the underside of the base fabric. As the base fabric 10 advances, the loops 13 are sequentially sheared by a knife 14 that is swung at each stitch cycle to form cut piles 13a.

The yarn feeding mechanism A functions to feed out the pile yarn 11 prior to feeding the base fabric, give it relaxation, and prevent the pile yarn 11 from coming off from the needle 4 when feeding the base fabric. As shown in the drawings and FIG. 2, a unique yarn feed motor 5 is provided as a power source. This yarn feed motor 5 is connected to a drive system of a yarn feed shaft 7 by a belt-pulley transmission device through an electromagnetic clutch 6 which is connected and activated when the motor is started, and is connected to a drive system of a yarn feed shaft 7 through a reducer 8 in the drive system. 7 to rotate. In addition, so that the yarn feeding operation by the yarn feeding motor 5 is not hindered, the main shaft 2 is equipped with a cam clutch 9, which prevents transmission between the main shaft 2 and the yarn feeding shaft 7 while the yarn feeding motor 5 is being driven. The system can be disconnected to prevent power from being transmitted back to the main shaft 2. Of course, this cam clutch 9 transfers its power to the yarn feed shaft 7 when the main shaft 4 rotates.
It maintains the connection state in order to transmit information to the other side.

On the other hand, the base fabric feeding mechanism B feeds out only the base fabric 10 after the preparation process for feeding the base fabric is completed, and sends out the seam portion of the fabric to the front of the stitching station directly below the needle 4. An independent one as shown in Figures 1 and 3.
Two base fabric feed motors 20 are provided as drive sources. This base fabric feed motor 20 is
It is connected to each of the front and rear fabric feeding shafts 21, 21 via a pulley transmission device, and drives them to rotate simultaneously. Similarly to the above, a cam clutch 23 is interposed in the transmission system that transmits the rotational power from the main shaft 2 to the fabric feed shaft 21 via the reducer 22, and transmits the rotational power while the fabric feed motor 20 is being driven. Reverse transmission is not made to the main shaft 2 side. This ensures that the driving of the base fabric feed motor 20 is not hindered.

During steady operation of the tufting machine, base fabric 1
When the seam part of 0 reaches the stitching station directly below the needle 4, immediately before that, a stop switch (not shown) in the steady operation circuit C1 is activated.
Perform the shutoff operation to temporarily stop the tufting machine itself. This stopping position is preferably a position immediately before the needle 4 reaches the highest point of upward movement. Therefore, at one end of the main shaft 2, as shown in FIG.
is attached, and a stop position detection sensor 29 consisting of a proximity switch is placed facing this peripheral surface.
The approach of the protrusion 28a is sensed to properly stop the tufting machine at a predetermined angular position on the main shaft. This regulation of the stop position facilitates the next needle top position setting operation in a short time.

First, the top position setting operation of the needle 4 is performed. This needle top position setting is performed as a preliminary preparation work to safely perform the feeding operation of the base fabric 10, and the setting device for this purpose is a push button type inching switch 31 provided on the operation panel 26. , and a needle top dead center position detection sensor 37. When the inching switch 31 is pressed, the main motor 1 is driven to rotate at a very slow speed, the main shaft 2 is driven to rotate in increments, and the needle 4 is raised from the above-mentioned stop position, and a sensor detects its top dead center. 37, the main motor 1 is stopped, and the needle 4 is set to the top position of the top dead center. The top dead center position detection sensor 37 is composed of a proximity switch, and is placed facing the circumferential surface of the aforementioned rotary blade 28, and detects the proximity state of the protrusion 28a and stops the operation of the main motor 1. be.

Next, perform the thread feeding operation. This thread feeding operation is
This is done by driving the yarn feed motor 5 by pressing a button on the yarn feed switch 34 provided on the operation panel 26. That is, by driving the yarn feed motor 5, the yarn feed shaft 7 is rotationally driven via the electromagnetic clutch 6 and the belt/pulley transmission device, and the yarn feed roller on the shaft is rotated to pay out the pile yarn 11. . At this time, the reverse transmission of power is prevented by the cam clutch 9 on the main shaft 2, so the main shaft 2 is not driven, and therefore the operation of the yarn feed motor is not hindered. When the pile yarn 11 is let out and sufficient slack is given between it and the needle 4, at that point, the yarn feed switch 34 is released,
Stop thread feed operation. This yarn feeding is performed to prevent the pile yarn 11 from unintentionally coming off from the needle 4 when the pile loop 13 hanging on the looper 12 is sheared in the next process.

Next, the pile cutting mechanism is operated to cut the pile loop 13 hanging on the looper 12. As shown in FIG. 5, the cutting mechanism controls the main motor 1 in the forward and reverse directions by a forward rotation switch 32 and a reverse rotation switch 33 on the operation panel 26, and by alternately and selectively pressing the buttons of these two switches. An inverter 27 and a forward/reverse range regulation sensor 3 that regulates this forward/reverse range.
8,39 and more. These sensors 38,3
Reference numeral 9 denotes an arc-shaped protrusion 4 that protrudes within a predetermined angular range from the periphery of a disc-shaped rotary blade 40 attached to one end of the main shaft 2, as shown in FIG.
It consists of a proximity switch that stops the main motor 1 by sensing both ends of the motor 0a. Therefore, in order to perform the cutting operation, first turn the forward rotation switch 3.
When the push button 2 is turned on, the main motor 1 is driven in forward rotation via the inverter 27, and the main motor 1 is stopped by the sensor 38 for regulating the forward rotation range, and then the reverse rotation switch 33 is turned on. This is performed by repeating the operation two to several times to reverse the main motor 1 until it is stopped by the reversal range regulating sensor 39.
The above forward and reverse drive range is a range in which the needle 4, which is driven up and down via the main shaft 2, does not pierce the base fabric 10 and where the knife 14 can effectively cut the pile loop 13 hanging on the looper 12. It is set within a predetermined angle range that can be measured. Therefore, by this operation, the plurality of pile loops 13 initially hanging on the looper 12 as shown in FIG. 8 are sequentially sheared by repeating the forward and reverse rotations as shown in FIGS. 9 and 10. is,
All are made into cut piles 13a. When all the pile loops 22 have been sheared in this way, the base fabric 10 is now in a state where it is no longer substantially connected to the needle 4 side.

Therefore, the base fabric will be fed next, but in order to do this safely, as a preliminary preparation step, the forward rotation switch 32 is turned on once again to cause the main motor 1 to rotate forward, and the needle 4 is moved upward. Guide it to the dead center position. When needle 4 reaches top dead center,
The top dead center position detection sensor 37 is used to operate the display means 36 on the operation panel 26 to notify that the state in which the base fabric can be fed is realized. The display means 36 is the base fabric feed switch 3
Preferably, the display lamp is provided as an indicator lamp attached to 5. After confirming the display operation of the display means 36, for example, the lighting, the forward rotation of the main motor 1 is stopped, and then the base fabric feed switch 35 is turned on.
Perform the push button input operation. As a result, the base fabric feed motor 20 rotates, and both the front and rear base fabric feed shafts 21, 21 are driven synchronously, and the base fabric 10 is fed out. This base fabric feed motor 20
When the main shaft is driven, the action of the cam clutch 23 prevents the reverse transmission of power in the two directions of the main shaft. Therefore, the driving of the motor 20 is not hindered. When the seam portion of the base fabric 10 is fed forward from the stitching station below the needle 4 by the base fabric feed operation described above, this is confirmed and the base fabric feed switch 35 is released and shut off to stop the base fabric feed motor 20. After that, switch 30
The power source is switched to the steady operation circuit C1 side, and thereafter, the steady operation of the tufting machine is resumed by turning on the start switch.

In the above embodiment, the forward/reverse control device is equipped with a forward rotation switch and a reverse rotation switch, and the rotational direction of the main motor 1 is changed by alternating turning on of these switches. The rotation direction may be automatically switched using the forward/reverse range regulating sensors 38 and 39 by pressing a push button of one forward/reverse switch. Further, the base fabric feed motor 20 side is also provided with an electromagnetic clutch 6 like the yarn feed motor 5.
The rotational power from the main shaft 2 side may be prevented from being input in reverse. In addition, this invention is not limited to the structure of the embodiment, but allows arbitrary changes in design within the scope of not changing the spirit of the invention.

Effects of the invention This invention enables the entire series of fabric feeding operations to be carried out in accordance with a predetermined procedure by sequentially operating each switch that can be provided on a single operation panel as described above. However, in the case of conventional tufting equipment that does not have such a base fabric feeding device, it is necessary to operate the brake on/off, manually rotate the main shaft, and remove the handle to perform the locking operation, or to move the pile yarn and base fabric. It is possible to eliminate all troublesome manual processes such as attaching and detaching the transmission belts at a plurality of locations in order to individually feed or send out the belts. Therefore, it is possible to shorten the work time and labor required for the base fabric feeding work, reduce the risk of trouble occurring due to errors in the work procedure, and reduce the level of skill required for the base fabric feeding work. I can do it.

In addition, this invention specifically uses an inverter to control the forward and reverse rotation of the main motor to cut the pile loops on the looper, thereby increasing the effective utilization of the inverter normally installed in tufting machines. Furthermore, it is possible to provide a tufting machine with a base fabric feeding device at a relatively low cost by minimizing the number of newly installed equipment for feeding the base fabric. That is, when an inverter is not used, a deceleration auxiliary motor is required to set the top position of the needle, or a special drive device is required to cause the main shaft to perform a locking operation within a predetermined angle range when cutting pile loops. In contrast, the present invention uses a main motor as a drive source to set the needle top position, drive pile cutting, etc., resulting in a simple structure. A base fabric feeding device can be added at low cost. Furthermore, this can be easily applied to existing tufting machines if they are equipped with an inverter by partially changing the electric circuit and adding a thread feed motor, base fabric feed motor, clutch, and sensor. Based on the present invention, it is possible to enjoy the advantages that can be improved by using a cloth feeding device.
