〔産業上の利用分野〕
本考案は竹刀に係り、特に竹刀を構成する割子
の刀身部の内側に横断面が円周方向に長い芯孔を
形成し、この芯孔内にガラス繊維強化プラスチツ

材としての竹材に代わるものとして、プラスチツ
ク材料やプラスチツク薄板と補強材とを組合わせ
た複合材料によるもの等が開発され、使用に供さ
れている(例えば特開昭60−106474号公報、特開
昭61−8070号公報参照)。

除いた刀身部の芯孔はその横断面形状が円周方向
に長い長孔状に形成され、この芯孔に強化プラス
チツク製の補強芯材が挿入され、前記補強芯材
は、柄部と剣先部とにおいては前記芯孔に隙間な
く圧入され、刀身部においては芯孔のほぼ中央部
に位置し、芯孔の円周方向両側の内壁と補強芯材
との間には空隙が形成されていることを特徴とす
るものである。

ているので繊維が外部に対して飛散することもな
い。また、補強芯材を入れることによつて曲げ剛
性を向上させ耐久性に優れた竹刀を提供すること
ができる。
