The head support section 3c is swingably attached to the head support section 3c provided in the head support section 3c. Further, the recording head 3a is urged toward the platen roller 3b by a spring 3d disposed between the head 3a and the recording cover 9. This urging force presses the overlapping recording sheet 1 and ink sheet 2 toward the platen roller 3b. Therefore, the recording sheet 1 and the ink sheet 2 are conveyed in the directions of arrows a and b in FIG. 2, respectively, and in synchronization with this, the recording head 3a is heated in accordance with the image signal to perform recording.

Recording is carried out by conveying by n lines. To explain this specifically, as shown in FIG. 9, a recording sheet 1 and an ink sheet 2 are held between a platen roller 3b and a recording head 3a with a predetermined pressure. This record sheet 1 is indicated by arrow a
The ink sheet 2 is transported in the direction of the arrow b at a speed V/n. Note that the ink sheet 2 can also be in a stopped state.

However, the shearing force varies depending on the temperature of the ink layer, and tends to increase as the temperature of the ink layer decreases. Therefore, if the heating time of the ink sheet 2 is shortened, a large shear force is required within the ink layer. At this time, if the relative speed between the ink sheet 2 and the recording sheet 1 is increased,
The shearing force increases, and the ink layer to be transferred can be reliably peeled off from the ink sheet 2.

The supply reel 20, take-up reel 21, guide shaft 26, and capstan roller 25 are positioned as follows. The position is the recording cover 9 as shown in FIG.
When the ink sheet cartridge C is opened and the ink sheet cartridge C is loaded into the recording cover 9, and the ink sheet 2 is stretched without slack between the take-up reel 21 and the guide shaft 26 and forms a substantially straight path, the ink sheet 2 and the capstan roller 25 are in a positional relationship such that they do not come into contact with each other. Further, after loading the ink sheet cartridge C into the recording cover 9, as shown in FIG. 2, with the recording cover 9 closed, the ink sheet 2 is pressed against the recording sheet 1, and the recording head 3a and platen roller 3b are pressed against each other. This is a positional relationship in which the ink sheet 2 contacts the capstan roller 25 when it is pinched and pressed.

In this case, tension is generated between the take-up reel 21 and the platen roller 3b, and the slack is removed. Note that when the platen roller 3b contacts the ink sheet 2 via the recording sheet 1, wrinkles are likely to occur in the ink sheet 2 on the platen roller 3b, but the coefficient of friction between the ink sheet 2 and the recording sheet 1 is small. , the tension prevents wrinkles from forming.

That is, when the recording cover 9 is closed, the lower end of the capstan roller 25 is located below the tangent between the platen roller 3b and the take-up reel 21. As a result, the ink sheet 2 wraps around the capstan roller 25 at an angle θ1.
It also wraps around the platen roller 3b at a wrapping angle θ2. When the capstan roller 25 rotates in this state, a conveying force is applied to the ink sheet 2 by the roller 25, and when the platen roller 3b rotates, the recording sheet 1 is conveyed and becomes ready for recording.
