Abstract

PURPOSE:To couple an image carrier and turning force transmission member tightly with each other by arranging and forming needlelike grooves which serve as plural adhesive reservoirs in the fitting peripheral surface between the image carrier and its turning force transmission member. CONSTITUTION:The process cartridge 1, constituted by coupling the turning force transmission member 20 for rotating the image carrier 10 through an external driving force transmission member 30 with an end part of the image carrier 10 by fitting, has plural grooves 24 formed in the fitting peripheral surface between the turning force transmission member 20 and image carrier 10 as the needlelike adhesive reservoirs in the rotating direction. Consequently, the image carrier can be coupled tightly with the turning force transmission member with adhesives in the grooves in both the rotating direction and axial direction of the image carrier.

It is also conceivable to form a plurality of grooves in the protrusion 111 of the drum gear 110 in a direction perpendicular to the rotation direction;
In this case, the strength of the joint is sufficiently large against the force in the axial direction of the photosensitive drum 100, but is weak against the force in the rotational direction of the photosensitive tram 100, which is a drawback.

Here, to explain the operation of the equipment in this process cartridge 1, when the photosensitive drum 10, which is uniformly charged by the charger 11, is exposed to image light from a scanner unit (not shown), a light beam on the photosensitive tram 1° is exposed. An electrostatic latent image is formed. The electrostatic latent image is transferred to the developing device 1 as the photosensitive tram 1O rotates.
2, and toner is supplied by the developing device 12 to be visualized as a toner image. As the photosensitive drum 10 rotates, the toner image is directed toward a transfer charger (not shown), and is transferred onto a transfer paper by the transfer charger. After the transfer, the portion of the photosensitive drum 10 having residual toner is cleaned by a cleaning device 13, and the photosensitive drum 10 is prepared for the next image formation.

Now, the photosensitive tram lO in the process cartridge 1 is rotated by a drive gear 30 on the apparatus main body side via a tram gear 20 which is a rotational force transmitting member, and below, regarding the tram gear 20 and its surroundings in the process cartridge 1, see FIG. The tram gear 20 is composed of a gear portion 21, a protrusion 22 with a circular cross section provided on the inner side of the gear portion 21, and a bearing portion 23 provided on the outer side of the gear portion 21. 22 is tightly fitted to the end of the cylindrical photosensitive drum 10, and the bearing portion 23 is pivotally supported on the side wall 1a-1 of the cartridge container 1a. Since the gear portion 21 of the drum gear 20 meshes with the drive gear 30 on the apparatus main body side, the rotation of the drive gear 30 causes the photosensitive tram 10 to move into the cartridge container 1 through the drum gear 20.
It rotates at a constant speed in the direction of the arrow P in the figure while being pivotally supported by the point a.

The protrusion 22 of the drum gear 20 is tightly fitted to the end of the photosensitive drum 1O, and the protrusion 22 of the drum gear 20 is tightly fitted to the end of the photosensitive drum 1O. Even when the rotational load increases,

In this case, in order to sufficiently hold the adhesive between the inner surface of the photosensitive drum 10 and the outer surface of the protrusion 22 of the tram gear 20, a plurality of adhesive holes A are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the protrusion 22 of the drum gear 20 to serve as adhesive reservoirs. A groove 24 is also formed. The adhesive groove 2
4 is a photosensitive tram tilted at a predetermined angle θ smaller than 90 degrees with respect to the direction of the drum axis Q of 0, and if the protrusion 22 of the tram gear 20 is considered as a screw, the rotation of the tram gear 20 causes this The adhesive groove 24 is inclined in the direction in which the screw is tightened.

Therefore, if the protrusion 22 of the tram gear 20 is fitted to the photosensitive tram 10 with sufficient adhesive held in the adhesive groove 24, the photosensitive drum lO will be connected to the photosensitive drum 10 through the adhesive in the adhesive groove 24. The tram gear 20 is sufficiently firmly connected to the tram gear 20.

Thus, the photosensitive drum lO and the tram gear 20 are connected to the adhesive groove 2.
4, the circumferential width C of the protrusion 22 of the joint is as shown in FIG. 3 (C=A/c).
os θ, and the length of the joint is increased by CA compared to the case where the adhesive groove 24 is arranged in the direction of the drum axis Q. Therefore, the photosensitive drum IO and the drum gear 20 are more firmly connected in the circumferential direction as the length of the connecting portion increases. Further, since the protrusion 22 of the adhesive groove 24 is formed so as to sink into the inside of the photosensitive drum 10 when the drum gear 20 rotates, the joint between the tram gear 20 and the photosensitive drum 1O is formed as the drum gear 20 rotates. Further, the photosensitive drum IO and the drum gear 20 are connected to each other in the adhesive groove 24.
, the length of the joint in the direction of the drum axis Q is sufficiently longer than that in the case where the adhesive groove 24 is disposed in the circumferential direction of the protrusion 22. The photosensitive tram 10 and the drum gear 20 are also firmly coupled in the direction of the tram shaft Q.

Therefore, even if various forces act in the axial direction or circumferential direction of the photosensitive tram 10 on the fitting portion between the photosensitive tram 10 and the tram gear 20, the state of connection between the photosensitive tram 10 and the tram gear 20 at the fitting portion remains unchanged. It is strong and the adhesive will not peel off from the photosensitive tram lO or the protrusion 22 of the drum gear 20.

As described above, the force in the axial or circumferential direction of the photosensitive tram 10 can be reduced by simply arranging a plurality of adhesive grooves 24 obliquely on the circumferential surface of the fitting portion between the photosensitive tram 10 and the tram gear 20. In contrast, the photosensitive tram 10 and the drum gear 20 are firmly coupled, and the tram gear 20 can properly rotate the photosensitive tram 10.
