Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a modified type hanger device which enables hanging of handbags and the like from the top surface of a counter or a table. CONSTITUTION: A housing 12 is so arranged to be placed on the surface of a table or a counter. A support shaft 13 slidable and extendible parallel is provided in the housing 12. The support shaft 13 is provided with a support arm 14 facing downward from the surface of the housing 12 and the lower end of the support arm 14 forms a hook 15. The support shaft 13 slides to the housing 12 thereby allowing the hook 15 to reach a specified position below the housing 12.

Claims (11)

[Claims] 1. A hanger device for hanging an item from a table surface, comprising: (a) a lower surface that is generally flat so as to be installed on the table surface;
(b) a housing having spaced apart parallel central holes and bisected by the axis of the central hole;
slidably connected within a central bore of the housing, having first and second ends, coaxial with the central bore, and having a plurality of cutting portions on a surface, one of the cutting portions being , a support shaft adjacent to the first end; and (c) engaging means elastically engaging the cut portion formed on the surface of the support shaft provided in the central hole of the housing. (d) a support frame extending downwardly from the second end of the support shaft to form a hook and in coplanar relationship with the support shaft and the hook. 2. The hanger device of claim 1, wherein the housing is cylindrical, and the central hole in the housing extends in the diametrical direction of the housing. 3. A hanger device for suspending an item from a table surface, the hanger device comprising: (a) having a generally planar lower surface so as to be installed on the table surface, and diametrically parallel to the lower surface; a cylindrical housing having a central aperture; (b) a plurality of annular surfaces slidably connected within the central aperture of the housing, having first and second ends, coaxial with the central aperture; a support shaft, one of the cutting portions being generally adjacent the first end and mounted for rotation through 360 degrees about the shaft;
(d) engaging means for resiliently engaging the annular cutting portion connected within the central hole of the housing with the support shaft; and (d) vertically extending downward from the second end of the support shaft. A hanger device comprising a support arm extending in the direction and forming a hook member at a lower end thereof, the support arm being coplanar with the support shaft and the hook. 9. The hanger device according to claim 8, wherein the support shaft has two annular cutting portions. 10. The hanger device according to claim 8, wherein the engaging means comprises two leaf springs, each leaf spring having an end portion elastically engaging with the support shaft. 11. The hanger device of claim 8, further comprising a covering member on the housing surrounding the central hole and a decorative member on the housing.
