Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a spectrum analyzer which makes no change in its displaying condition and gives no sense of incompatibility to the person who is looking at the display even if the cause of an abnormal sound is detected. CONSTITUTION:In an audio device 1, which has a spectrum analyzer display device 6, the digital signals, which are obtained through the conversion of input voice signals done by an analog/digital converter 2, are processed by an arithmetic processing means 3, a result of the processing is transferred to a voice output means 5 which outputs the voice. When a prescribed frequency band of the output level is displayed on the display mentioned above for every frequency band, a condition, in which an abnormal sound is generated, is detected, a mute signal from the arithmetic means 3 is generated and simultaneously the display function of the display device 6 is stopped during the period in which the mute signal is being generated.

[0004] However, in such a system, for example, when changing the mode of the audio equipment, turning the power switch ON/OFF, or changing the tape or CD, a so-called popping sound may be heard. A sound called abnormal sound is generated. Therefore, if such rejected sound is directly converted into digital audio and played back, it will be perceived as an abnormal sound, so a mute signal is normally generated to prohibit the output of the audio.

[0005] Since the causes of the occurrence of such a drop sound have been roughly analyzed, if the cause of the occurrence of such a drop sound is stored in the arithmetic processing means 3 in advance, when the cause of the occurrence of such a drop sound appears, to immediately mute and stop audio output at that point. On the other hand, when such a drop sound is digitally converted and displayed on the spectrum analyzer display from the arithmetic processing means 3, the display changes rapidly and flickers, which also causes a sense of discomfort to the viewer.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Specific examples of the spectrum analyzer display according to the present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a specific example of a spectrum analyzer display that is combined with an audio device according to the present invention. In FIG. 1, an audio device 1 such as a radio, television, cassette tape, CD player, etc. converts analog audio information from the audio device into digital information by an appropriate analog/digital converter 2, and converts the digital data as appropriate. A digital sound is formed by the arithmetic processing means 3, and the output thereof is input to the sound output means 5 via a suitable amplification means 4 to reproduce the sound.

At the same time, the output of the arithmetic processing means 3 is used to calculate the output level at a plurality of predetermined band frequencies regarding the currently reproduced audio, and the results are displayed on the spectrum analyzer display. 6 is displayed. As described above, in the audio device 1, when a dropout sound is generated, a mute signal is generated to prohibit output of the sound. In the present invention, the mute signal is further input to the spectrum analyzer display 6 to temporarily stop the display function of the spectrum analyzer display.

[0011] The mute signal generating means is generally provided inside the arithmetic processing means 3, and its configuration employs the same means as the mute signal generating means in the prior art described above. It may be something that you do. Further, it is preferable that the mute signal generating means analyzes the cause of the dropout sound in advance and stores the information in an appropriate storage means within the arithmetic processing means 3. Furthermore, the mute signal generating means must be capable of immediately stopping the generation of the mute signal and restoring the display function of the spectrum analyzer display when the cause of the popping sound is eliminated. be. FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the procedure for operating the spectrum analyzer display according to the present invention.

First, in step a, it is determined whether the power is on or off in a system in which the audio equipment and the spectrum analyzer display are combined. Here, if the power is not ON, the flowchart will be END, but if the power is not ON, the flowchart will be END.
If N, the process proceeds to step b, where it is determined whether a mute signal is being generated.

If the mute signal is not generated, proceed to step c and convert the audio input signal to an analog/analog signal.
The converted digital data is converted by a digital converter, processed by the arithmetic processing means 3, and in step d is outputted to the audio output means 5 and also displayed on the spectrum analyzer display 6. However, if a mute signal is generated in step b, a program for stopping the display function of the spectrum analyzer display is executed in step e, and then it is determined in step f whether the mute signal has been turned OFF. If the mute signal is continued, the process returns to step b and the same operation is continued.

On the other hand, in step f, the mute signal is turned off.
If it is determined that this has occurred, the process returns to step c and the subsequent steps are executed. Finally, in step g, it is determined again whether the power is ON or OFF, and if it is OFF, the flowchart ends at that point, but if the power is ON, the process returns to step a. Repeat the following steps.

Therefore, in this embodiment, even when the external audio generating device 7 is connected, in order to obtain the same effect as described above, the external audio generating device is also usually provided with a mute signal generating means. By paying attention to the fact that the external audio generating device is operated, a circuit configuration is adopted that generates a mute signal when the external audio generating device is operated, and the muting signal generated from the external audio generating device is used as a display prohibition signal. The information is input to the arithmetic processing means 3, and based on the information, the display function of the spectrum analyzer display is stopped. Therefore, the operation flowchart in the system is the same as that in FIG.
